The appearance of this small repair shop doesn't look like much, but this place gives excellent prices and timely service, so I highly recommend getting a quote from them when you're comparing shops for maintenance or repairs.However, your mileage may vary greatly in terms of customer service. The mechanic Jay was fairly approachable and more patient with explanations, but the owner George was gruff and rude toward me everytime I went there, even though he seemed to be friendly to the other customers on-site. I don't know, maybe I didn't do enough small talk or speak enough Chinese.

Wholeheartedly recommend! Great quick honest reliable service, at an excellent price too!! I'm always usually nervous before going to a new auto service shop because I never know if I'll feel bamboozled, but I was totally taken care of by Jay. All my questions answered and felt very respected. Got my 20,000 mile service done at a THIRD of the price that the dealership was offering. Another plus is that it's in a neighborhood with tons of restaurants and cafes within walking distance (a McDonald's across the street) so it's easy to find a place to spend the time. Safe neighborhood and very easy street parking. Highly recommend!!!

First time came to this repair shop for brake repair and It was recommended by my friend. Both mechanics Jeff and George were friendly. Jeff diagnosed and addressed the problem quickly. He showed me where was the problem and explained to me how to fix the issue in detail. They finished the job quickly and nicely. I'd highly recommend this repair shop to everyone.

I always bring my car here for maintenance and repairs. They are very efficient, great work, and have very reasonable prices. They always get my car back the same day, even though they may need order parts. They would tell you that some repairs are not needed, and prioritize key fixes first. Very efficient and communicative.It's always a pleasure to bring my car there for oil change, parts replacements, and other fixes. They are my first to contact if I have any car troubles. Outstanding customer service with an honest mechanic/owner at reasonable prices! Dealership wanted $700 for a 30,000 mile service on a Subaru Outback! Dealer stated things to be mandatory that are not required by the auto manufacturer. The owner checked manufacturer website in advance to be certain of 30,000 mile service requirements. Not only did he meet all those requirements, he replaced brake pads all for under $300!. My Subaru is just over five years old and I'm so grateful to have found an owner/mechanic of high caliber, honest and reasonable prices! I extend a thank you to the owner of PHD Salon, Temple City, for this recommendation. Great place to go for a haircut while you wait for your car!

Took my 2018 Mercedes Benz in for a check engine light service. Boss took care of it within 1/2 a day. Cause of check engine light was due to a rodent chewing on the wire. Dealer wanted $770.00 for the repair. Ming Star repaired the damage at quarter of the dealer's price!

Very rude people work here. They tested drive the customer car and drove it around the corner so careless. Keep charging extra for unnecessary repairs. Stay away from this place.

My go-to shop for maintenance. The shop owners are so nice and helpful! They're honest with what your car needs, and will let you know whatever needs to be done--nothing more and nothing less. Prices are very reasonable too!
