“This location has very very nice things and a very wide selection of stationary and trinket boxes , pens , accessories, plush dolls etc and lounge fly wallets and backpacks. Customer service is very nice and helpful, even though I did not buy anything yet as I am still deciding on what I will buy I will definitely be back to this location because this has been the best Sanrio store I've been to so far for their variety of items . Most Sanrio stores I have been to have been very non impressive as they offer too many plush toys and hardly any items that really make sense for the price.”

“First, I'd like to preface this by saying I have never left an online review for anything. I'm just not that kind of person but the extraordinary service I received has been so far beyond the norm, I felt compelled to comment.
It started when I received a book I hadn't ordered. I felt sure a mistake had been made by a second-hand bookseller from whom I had ordered a different title. Fearing my book had been sent to the true buyer of this book, I contacted the Huntington Store (after hours, I'm quite certain) to inquire how we should resolve this error. I awoke the next morning to find an email from Lynsey Hand with the answer to the mystery. The book had been a surprise gift from my brother in Japan. (Yes, he is that great of a brother!)
I wrote to thank him and to recommend he take every opportunity to patronize this bookseller because I was so impressed with the packaging of my book against damage in transit. He recommended I write a review.
Over the years I have had numerous books, many collectibles, damaged due to inadequate packaging.
This book arrived wrapped in bubblewrap, cardboard, and packing paper in a sturdy cardboard box.
I have learned since 1.) it was packed by a lady named Emily (Outstanding job, Emily) and 2.) The Huntington store is not a second-hand bookseller but is, in fact, a beautiful museum with incredible botanical gardens.(My brother forwarded a Huntington newsletter.)
I can do without another visit to Los Angeles, but the next opportunity I have to visit Southern California, I plan on making the Huntington my destination spot and look forward to spending a liesurely day at this beautiful museum and its grounds and, perhaps, shake the hands of these two women who made such an impression as to prompt an old curmudgeon to write an online review.

“When I shop for gifts outside of my neighborhood (East Hollywood), Retreat is my go-to. Diane, the owner, has curated a wonderful collection of jewelry, art prints, cards and fun gifts for virtually any occasion. Despite this shop's relatively small size, it is packed with goodies. My go-to is always the card section, where I invariably find a card for an upcoming birthday or, even better, the perfect card for a friend who could use a pick-me-up or a good laugh. My stationary drawer is packed with Retreat cards that I've got on the ready and I am very grateful. There is a great range of options in terms of price. You can find very fun patches and charms for around ten dollars. If you are looking a bit higher-end, there is a lovely collection of jewelry: but you are definitely paying for quality work that will be appreciated. Diane and the various employees are invariably friendly and eager to help you find something perfect for your friend or family.”

“Such a delightful little specialty store in downtown Sierra Madre madre. Liz is always a treat to see. The store is stocked With lovely soaps, candles, and some of the best

Freddy the owner who's always attentive & give excellent service! And if you want something in mind , not in his store @ the moment he will pull out his books we're he orders & try to get it for you. And the best of all create a custom rosary if your requesting a certain beads on your special rosary. Since he left us a lasting impression, my family & I needed a precious religious gift items to give away saddened to say for after my son's funeral we want to give to our precious family & friends who helped us get though theses darkest times of our life. “I've ordered from this location several times and decided to pay a visit as I was passing through California. I'm so glad I did. I was able to purchase a Hangyodon plush in person. This store has every character in stock with the exception of Usahana. She seems to sell out quickly. They are an officially licensed Sanrio store so you know you will also be purchasing items from Japan as well. This is one of the few Sanrio stores that is super organized and very easy to shop. Glad we made the visit.”
