I booked this hotel for my wife and her family to stay in ahead of our wedding day. What a mistake.
The room smelled damp and moldy. Shower door leaked onto the floor. I asked the staff for a new room but they were unable to help since they have oversold the hotels for the Memorial Day weekend. We were stuck with this horrible room due to their bad maintenance and greed.
We asked if we could use/rent their conference room to for my wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law to get their hair and make up done as the room was horrible. They said it was their “policy” to use conference room only for business meetings due to risk of “damages/stains.”
Luckily the Home2Suites down the street was much more helpful and rented us their conference room. A much better and recommended alternative to this place.
I will try to get my money back, but knowing this place, I may be out of luck. This place doesn’t live up to the Marriott or Springhill standards.

During the hassles at check-in, I should have listened to my gut and found a different hotel. We booked the hotel for an anniversary getaway and ended up going home early because of the terrible stay. Book with caution!
The hotel is conveniently located near the freeway and Old Town Temecula. It is close to shopping and lots of eateries. The offer free parking.
You enter the room into a small living room area with a fridge, microwave, couch and a desk. The TV can be swiveled to see in living room or from the bed. The bedroom area had the bed, one night stand and another small table. The closet was a small wardrobe situated in the corner of the room near the bed. It had two doors, one of which was a full length mirror, but difficult to utilize due to proximity of the bed.
The bathroom is set up in two separate areas. The toilet had a separate area with a little sink. The other area had a countertop with full sink, bathtub/shower. The shower had body soap, shampoo and conditioner.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool, no hot tub. There is also a small gym, business center (no working printer), guest laundry, meeting room, and little market with snacks and drinks.
We arrived at the hotel and check in took over 45 minutes due to a series of bad rooms. We were first given a room on the first floor. When the room was entered, the smell of weed was present. I asked for a new room. Room number 2 was on the third floor. Entered the room to a blast of warm air and a terrible musty odor. The a/c was on and set at 58 degrees, definitely not working. There was no way we could stay comfortably in the hot room during summer. Room number 3 was thankfully better smelling and with a working a/c, so we took it. Little did we know the problems waiting. It was on the freeway side of the hotel and soooo crazy loud.
The room had terrible soundproofing. You could hear hallway conversations and freeway noise, loud and clear. The room faced the pool, on the freeway side of the hotel. Even with a/c and tv on you can still hear cars whizzing by on the freeway.
The TV remote wouldn't allow for us to do anything but turn up the volume and it was stuck on one channel. After multiple attempts to get it to work, I called the front desk and was met with a negative, snarky attitude. The response I received from the front desk person was "aim it at the sensor." DUH! I told her that was definitely tried, she sent maintenance to our room, where it was determined a new remote was necessary.
The bed was quite uncomfortable compared to other Springhill locations. Between the uncomfortable bed and the freeway noise, we had a terrible night of sleep and woke up exhausted.
One of the reasons we booked the hotel was because of the pool area. We planned to spend lots of time enjoying the pool that looked great in hotel photos. We looked at the pool after getting settled in the room and there are no longer any lounge chairs, only tables and chairs. The pool faces the freeway so it's terribly loud. The pool wasnt heated and oh so cold! At 3pm it was fully shaded. Supposedly the indoor pool is heated, but to touch, they felt similar in temperature.
After a terrible first night, we decided it best to cut our stay short and leave the hotel early. I called the front desk and was once again met with a snarky attitude from the worker. She said we would be charged for the night whether or not we stayed. After telling her about the many problems we encountered she put me on hold to discuss with the manager. After a series of questions/answers being relayed from/to the manager, she finally said we could leave without penalty. I still don't understand why the manager didn't speak to me instead of relaying multiple questions through the other worker.
As stated above, book with caution.

When walking in, I approached the front desk with a gal there. She looked up at me and stated she would be with me in a moment and continued to type away. I replied her no problem. I stood there with no bother what so ever when a few seconds later she looks up at me with attitude and stated again she would be with me in a moment. I replied to her okay. I was a bit thrown off with her attitude. Another gal walked out from the back office and the 1st gal turned to her and asked if “she could handle us”. At this point, I be ame upset. Not once did I give attitude or rush any of the staff members. The 2nd gal caught her wording, and began to attended us. She compliment me of multiple thing. I appreciated her efforts to correct the 1st impression upon my arrival with my coworker. The next day, my coworker and I packed up our stuff to check out. When I went to grab my lat item from the bed. I noticed a black dot. I got closer to it and found a bug in my sheets. I immediately got grossed out and my coworker had me take a picture to show front desk. Just knowing I slept in a bed that possibly had a bug there the whole night had me feeling gross. We came down and checked out at the front desk. The gentleman was very polite. I made him aware I had a photo to show him and placed my phone on the counter to show him the picture I had taken. It was still breakfast time, and there were multiple guest enjoying their meal behind me, so I did not want to be loud or cause a scene for the other. He immediately apologized and asked if I would like to have management give me a call. I said yes. He let me know he was adding a note to the room and assured me I would receive a call. He checked the picture again to see the time stamp of the photo.
I received a call from a young lady to advise me the room had been inspected and they found nothing in the room.
Location of the hotel is great, service was a disappointment with our 1st impression, cleanliness of the room was disappointing. Room had a stench and a bit outdated. For being part of the Marriott chain, this location was disappointing.

Avoid room 101. The noise from the freeway is terrible. I asked to change rooms after the first night but management said no. Good luck sleeping in such a noisy room. Do better management.

Was hesitant to book as reviews at time of booking where a hit or a miss...BUT I'M THRILLED we gave it a go...We will definitely put this property in our vacation rotation...Staff Jezzel, Anthony and Missy are wonderful...eager to help with any needs and quick to answer questions...They have extras room items behind the desk if you need anything. They keep the market place well stocked and tidy...The property is well maintained. Nice heated indoor pool and wonderful outdoor pool. Small but adequate gym. Microwave and mini fridge in room. Free parking, Free Breakfast. Cable TV (HBO) Separate restroom from shower area...Nice for couples or girlfriends weekend...Great location for wine country or downtown Temecula...Exceptional Value
Rooms: Clean...plenty of room...comfy couch..
Ac and heat are wall unit but work great and are not too loud. TV is LG flat screen...not a smart TV but I welcomed the on demand as we do not have cable so it was nice to catch up on some of the channels we do not have on our at home streaming services...plus they have HBO where most smart Tvs have SHOWTIME so it was nice for a staycation to watch the latest Realease out on MAx
Food & drinks: Well stocked market place, Nice hot breakfast. (Sausage, ham, scrambled eggs, waffles, muffins, bagels, yogurt, coffee and juice) Rosa's Cafe and Vinces Spaghetti with in walking distance (must try both...delicious) and tons of food choices nearby

Large comfortable rooms ~ very nice bathroom & the kitchenette had everything we needed. The breakfast was the basics but tasted good & the coffee was actually good. So all in all a very pleasant day.

Loved the room we had. Toilet had a separate room with its own small sink. Shower had a full sink with countertop. The entry to the room had a small living room area with a couch and a desk. Room wasn't large but was arranged to maximize the space. I wish all hotel rooms were designed this way.Rooms: Loved the room we had. Toilet had a separate room with its own small sink.
