Patty has done my taxes for years! I swear by her, she's my tax lady for life! she's always helped guide me through the process of what is needed to get to the best bottom line. which is super helpful to really understand. Whew.... we, Patty, and I just completed my 2020 taxes just in the nick of time. Totally my bad! I was the grand procrastinator. Sorry! I have been working with Patty for 15 years now beginning with my and my Ex's coffee shop. She did an AMAZING job keeping us on track with our payroll, quarterlies, etc. Once we closed the shop she helped us move on and dissolve our Corp when we were ready. It is over a decade later and she still does my whole family's taxes, my now-grown children, my "new" spouse, and my Ex! We all trust her. I have switched gears a couple of times in self-employment businesses. She always asks me the right questions to have the most complete return possible. I would have forgotten to include key things in my taxes had she not reminded me or asked questions. She is very thorough and organized. I totally appreciate her. I need to give a shout out to Patty at Positive Balance. She has been doing our taxes for years. She is always professional and goes above and beyond to make sure all is in order. She even took the time to explain a few things to my husband who has no idea about filing taxes and made him understand some things he just didn't get. Patty has always done such an amazing job with my taxes! She helps me with my personal returns, as well as my company. She has so much knowledge and is great at explaining everything to me since this clearly is not my area of expertise. She constantly is checking everything to make sure I can get the most out of my refund and does everything in a very timely manner. I was recommended to Patty by a friend and she has done my taxes for several years , and accounting and payroll for my business also. She is very meticulous and leaves nothing undone . She got us to a better tax position then I thought was possible. And asked a lot of questions which we were not used to with past tax people .

My wife and I had Patty work on our taxes. Normally, we do our taxes on our own, but we wanted to go to an expert because my wife was paid under the table and it was a little more complicated than normal. I wish we found an expert instead of Patty and Positive Balance. We sent our documentation in to her in mid-March. She didn't reply to that email or any follow ups until April 29th (where she asked for information that had already been provided). She barely got our taxes done on time, and she actually missed the deadline for multiple family members' taxes. We just found out now, months later, that we "elected" to defer payment on something we were never informed of. We now owe an additional $1232 that we were never informed of (just found out from an IRS letter), and our taxes ended up being about $1000 more expensive than it would have been through H&R Block. When we asked her about this, she said it was automatic (which goes against the IRS letter saying we "elected" this deferral) and gave no further explanation. When we reached out to her to figure this out, she continually cut me off and was incredibly rude. She claimed I cut her off and scolded me while I was trying to finish my explanation of the situation. She told me several times that I was "verbally abusive" and hung up on me for simply trying to finish my sentence. Patty tries to claim that she won't expand and bring on help because she holds herself and her work to a high standard, but I haven't seen that. I've seen her do a poor job with my taxes and be overwhelmed because she doesn't have help. If at all possible, go to someone else to get your taxes done. You'll save yourself headache and probably a large amount of money.

This lady handled our taxes for a few years. First of all she is not a CPA, she has a certificate to be a tax preparer. In addition, our company has received multiple fines for documents she never filed going back to 2017. She charged us 400.00 a month for work she never did. All our w2s were late and we only knew about it when people called and complained. Which we were also fined for. I've asked for documents the IRS is requesting, that she was paid for and get no response. I would never do business with this woman who runs this questionable business out of one her bedrooms.
