Macys has been a great store but I'm never using a gift card Visa card there again. I went to buy a pair of Michael kors shoes and I couldn't believe the horrible customer service. I tried to use a Visa card that was a gift from my husband and i tried to use it and it said declined so I called the number to get a pin and then just put a pin in after I called and it didn't work. And the lady at the store was super rude and careless. I didn't get the shoes all because they want to do a stupid transaction!! The shoes were in the store and right in front of me and the lady kept saying that I couldn't take them. I have to now wait 9-14 days for a pair of shoes that was right in front of me at the store! The Visa cards need to be fixed for the store too because I ended up going online and buying them online and the lady told me to wait for them to come in!! I can't believe the utter rudeness and carelessness of the Visa card people and especially Macys! The shoes costed $170 and my gift card had $250 on it. It's been a great store but this will be my last purchase from there.

Hanna is very helpful! I wanted to get a coat that was on sale, but couldn't find my size. She saw that it was in stock and stopped at nothing to find it! Great customer service! Thank you Hanna!!

Second floor customer service desk needs people who have a clue on how to do returns. Slow as slow comes, and if it's from an outside seller but sold by Macys, it's a complete disaster and takes like 10 min per item. Not buying these kinds of merchandise again. Please train your people well because they all seem lost and unhappy

Mary Lee in handbags, your customer service skills are something to be desired. She made a comment that she can't return clothing in the handbag department, even though she proceeded with the return. Also, it was the exact same counter where I made the purchase. Her comment just shows her laziness.

I have been a loyal Macys shopper for decades, even when they were Bullocks and Robinsons May, and sadly after tonight, I will never set foot into a Macys store again. I went in to buy a pair of shoes and the first pair I found was on the Last Act shelf. When I went to the counter to check out, they scanned the shoe and then went to the back room to retrieve the other half. The employee returned and said that even though the computer says it is in stock, he couldn't find the pair. He asked for my phone number and said if they find it tonight, they'll call me. At this point, it was 8:30 and they close at 9pm so i figured it would probably be best for me to just find another similar shoe instead. Once I found one, I gave it to the employee and he scanned the shoe and said he will retrieve the other half. After several minutes, he returned once again without the pair and said that this pair was also missing the other half. So now this is two shoes that are on the shelf for sale but are missing pairs. He told me that he would try to look for the missing shoes and if he found then he would call me. By then it was about 8:45pm. I wanted to give him the opportunity to try to look for any one of the shoes so I could at least purchase a pair of shoes like I wanted so I started walking around and went up the escalator and as I looked down at the shoe department, I saw him talking to another employee rather than "looking for my shoes" so then I just walked to the nearest counter and asked for a manager. After explaining the whole situation, the employee called the manager on the headset and the manager reluctantly agreed to meet me back at the shoe department. When I arrived, the manager basically explained that it was not their fault that some shoes are missing pairs because most of the time they don't even notice that pairs are different or wrong sizes until they are returned. I then asked if shoes are checked at the time of purchase which I've seen hundreds of times before, and he said yes but these things just happen. So then at this point I asked if I could purchase a similar pair at a discounted price and he said no. He didn't even try to work with me. He was not willing to make up for the flawed system in the shoe department. I am so disappointed in Macys. I will be paying off my Macys credit card and again, I will never set foot in a Macys again.

I love macys. Unfortunately I had the most unfriendly time there this morning at returns. No name tag but she was so disrespectful to me. I'm not sure why? Maybe my gym clothes from my workout? Maybe because im young. Or my favorite...maybe because im Native American??! I returned an unused black dress and she questioned me assuming I wore it. She also was disturbed by my presence.May 26 1pmStill one star I held off for a long time. It feel's racist here still. Only the nice gentleman is helpful. No woman ever wants to help me or take my returns. Maybe because I'm Native American? I don't know? I don't have time to shop so I order online with that, sometimes things don't fit and I have to return. They don't examine and inspect from the white women just me. I have to stop shopping here now and get rid of my credit card. Get rid of these old racist women they are unhelpful.

We took our grandson, 7, to Macy's Jewelry department so that he could buy his mom a Christmas gift. He had been doing chores and saving his money. Being only 7, he didn't understand how shopping in a store worked, having manners and respect, how to shop etc. He did great, looking at everything to decide on just the right thing for his mom. I knew he didn't have enough money, so while distracted with by his grandpa, I spoke with Zora(?) at the Jewelry country and explained that my grandson was to pay for the gift but I would give her my card and pretend he was purchasing. She went above and beyond to make this such a sweet special moment. He learned so much that day, especially the kindness of the "lady at the store." It felt like how store used to be back in the day. Merry Christmas!

Macy's has changed over the years. Now it's a homogeneous national store for almost every one and yet, for no one in particular. Gone are all the local city competitors, who provided choices through their buyers, like Bon Marché, Filene's, Bloomingdale's (yes, they own them too), Jordan Marsh and Marshall Field, I Magnum, I could go on. All were acquired by Macy's and folded into this national brand, with their local charm and character all erased. Even their original name, Federated Dept Stores is gone. A few have escaped, Dillard's and Nordstrom's comes to mind, or Canada's Hudson Bay's Saks Fifth Avenue. But very few local identities remain. Which brings me to my accidental visit here yesterday. Macy's it seems has become a store within a store. Lids Locker Room, defunct Toys R Us and Footlocker have all partnered with small kiosks inside their store. It's similar to what Apple, Google, etc did with Best Buy. So what makes Macy's special? Do I shop here for Polo Ralph Lauren, or go to their store? Ditto the above brands. My experience here was sad and disappointing. Nothing unique. Nothing special. Nothing I couldn't get online or somewhere else. Just a homogeneous experience of bland. Bring back Gimbel's and Abraham & Strauss, all is forgiven.

Five stars based on interaction with Donna at EL counter in beauty department. She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. She took the time to help me find the products I needed and our interaction was a complete pleasure.

Went to Macy's to purchase a suit for an upcoming event. As usual they had what I was looking for, and I made the purchase On the other hand I couldn't believe how much Christmas stuff was on display and it's not even Halloween! Love Macy's!

Just order what you want online!! I went in today to purchase a Gucci Perfume for my birthday. We had to ask someone to help us because the three store associates were standing chatting amongst each other. Then when someone finally decide to help us she asked us several times about getting a Macys credit card. We said no several times but she just kept pushing. She would not take no for an answer so we just left without the item we wanted.

They manager messed up our tux rental , and had the nerve to tell me that he was unable to use his private jet to fly to Houston to get my son a new tux since PROM was the next day. He refused to give me the regional managers phone number so I could contact him directly to see how we could fix the problem. I want to point out that another store associate pointed out that suit that we selected ran small and everyone knew that you needed to order a size up. It's funny how I took him to the store and they did the measurements ,I did not do these measurements at home. the manager refused to offer a workable solution, and only a refund. Prom is tomorrow!! So after I persisted and kept talking why my son had me on speaker, because can I also know that the manager refused to get on the phone the store phone to speak with me. He offered to take the buttons off when the suit jacket shoulders was way too tight. It had the nerve to say that that's how the guys wear them these days. And accused my son of gaining 2 pounds in his chest since he took his measurements on Monday, people today is Friday!! Worst experience ever I will be contacting the head office to file a complaint. wow!!
