I called to get any information i could if they had any on an old account I had with Bank of the West a coulpe years ago. June talked to me on the phone with additude while she said "no" to every
question i had regarding my own past account. She kinda acted like i was trying to get one over on her... weird... when i was trying to simply know the steps to get info on what happened with an account not active anymore, proof of in activity ect.
Most unfortunate, because she did express remembering me and knowing who i was... myself and my family had banked here or what was bank of the west for many years. Didnt know it was BMO now, until June acted like i was an ideot for calling. I just had to put the phone down, because i obviously affended her for even calling to ask any questions.
I definitley banked with bank of the west myself alone for almost 20 years off and on. She was rude I had to tell her repeatedly and respectfully "im just asking quetions about my own account i had" have no clue why she was so rude to me. Glad i havent opened anymore accounts with BMO and will probably never will. I Hope this gets back to the Bakersfield main office. Totally reminds me why I moved out of this area, the mantality is awful.

Some how the loan for my trailer got picked up by these people. I’ve tried several times and spent many hours trying to use their online payment option but their system or website is faulty and never allows me to actually make a payment. I’ve tried calling but I’m not allowed to make a payment over the phone. The only way to make a payment if not online, they tell me, is to come into the branch physically. This is almost impossible for me to do without having to take time off being that my working hours are the same as their hours of operation. For me this is not an option being that I have 3 children under the age of 5 and save my time off for emergencies. It almost appears like BMO is trying to make it extra difficult to make a payment, almost like they want me to get behind on my loan or default. WARNING bank elsewhere if you can and stay away from here. We previously had Bank of the West for this loan and miss them and the easy payment options dearly. Hope this helps someone.

I went in there to cash a check that I received from THIS LOCATION. It took them an hour to verify a check that they gave me. I'm glad I wasted my lunch break doing this. Zero urgency to get anything done.

BMO now. I went to open a new account today, no appointment, and banker Melissa helped me right away. Halfway through opening the account I remembered I was supposed to be at home waiting for a contractor. She quickly finished up and took my deposit to the teller for me so that I could leave sooner. She was knowledgeable about the products and set me up with exactly what I wanted. I was there no more than 20 minutes and left with a debit card in hand. Much better service since the changeover and adding Melissa to the banker staff.

June went over and beyond to help us with a small business account!! Even a half hour before closing she was willing to take the time to help us.

My friend banks here and is always complaining about them. She wrote me some checks for work I've done for her, when I went to cash them Bank of the West wanted to charge me $9 per check fee. I flipped out ! 5 checks at $9 each $45 are you kidding me. That's more than I make per hour working for her and I can drive to Bakersfield and back for less than $45. I'll Never bank there and don't reccomend it either !

If I could give zero Stars I definitely would this bank is the worst bank ever I got my purse stolen and my credit cards were in there Bank of the West took 27 days to do an investigation on it then they send me paperwork after that to fill out for fraud on my account okay 27 days then I have to get the paperwork fill that out now what's another 14 days this bank was the worst bank ever I had a $3 charge on my card and they close my card because it was fraudulent for $3 instead of calling me or texting me they just close my card this Bank sucks don't ever go there

I would give it a zero if I could. Do never use their online banking to put a deposit in. They put a seven day hold on my paycheck I am a 20 year customer with the same paycheck that I’ve had for the last 12 years. They put a hold on it because I was overdrawn seven dollars that they let go through the transaction of 795 and then they charge me $35 for an overdraft fee. I will never use this bank again they shuffled me around for two hours to try to remove that hold which they were unable to do. This is the worst bank if I didn’t live in a small town I would never use this bank !!!

Worst bank ever ! I don't recommend this bank ever to anyone . They will rip you off and not give you all your money and charge you over drafts twice as much as your contract says even if you had the money some how it's all of a sudden not there !. I called and they say well we can't help you ( witch is their job) and I even didn't say anything when the ATM didn't give me all of my money before. Like I said WORST BANK EVER I DONT RECOMMEND THIS BANK TO ANYONE .

They’re only open 9-3 so you can’t go to the bank before or after work and closed on weekends. Their atm never works either and it’s the only one in town. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. I would never use this bank again

Perceptions and experiences clearly vary. We have had several accounts at this branch going back 17 years, including a business account. I rarely have to go to the counter but my wife does regularly and we have never had an issue with the staff. I will admit that the process of opening an account seems to be painfully slow but that appears to be a logistics problem. The last account we opened (9 years ago), I will note that the account manager was not personable, but she was also certainly not rude. Most important from our perspective is that the bank has been extremely diligent in identifying false charges and "hijacked" accounts. We use a large number of different vendors and at least twice a year have to get new debit cards and process paperwork to block fake charges. BOTW has been excellent at detecting these frauds and notifying us immediately. We have accounts at Wells Fargo and CitiBank as well as BOTW and have not found any of those big banks to be better. If anything Citi is less responsive and requires more diligence on our part to monitor our accounts. So all things being equal, I will take BOTW over the big banks.

Sometimes when your own bank doesn't have a branch anywhere nearby and you absolutely have to do something in person, not online, it's extremely difficult to get much flexibility or options when you don't have an account there. The employees were pretty flexible, when they realized the major problems we were having with something that is usually fairly straightforward. The extremely tight rules and restrictions were so ridiculous and though no one broke any of these rules, they offered a couple of interesting solutions that would ultimately get the job done. The fault lies with these ridiculous rules, not with the people who are just trying to do a good job and help people.

Absolutely terrible experience here, worst bank branch and the rudest I’ve ever been too. I’m directly calling out June and her absolutely disrespectful attitude towards customers and the way she treats us when we seem to know more about her job then she does, and the Manager Maggie is a complete joke. These two employees are running this business and town into the ground and running this branch as if it were their personal little club than a business. Whoever thought these two are management material should be ashamed of themselves. Fire them and you will get my business back, until then I’m going across the street to save time and money. I can’t believe how much time they waste and then dare to talk about customers the way they do in front of others. Disgraceful!!!!
