We have been a part of the LILA community for 3 years and we cannot be any happier. The teachers care about every single child and are personally invested in helping parents create educated and thoughtful young citizens.

Our family had fifteen years with LILA (West Valley and Burbank) and I will say this: it left a bad taste in our mouth. There were some good aspects, really good teachers and experiences we still cherish. However, there was a very damaging aspect to this school. I will only speak to the Tarzana location because the Burbank campus has it's own page. Burbank was the same. The explanation for this would be so lengthy, so I'll leave it at that. I also left a review on the other page for this campus, currently labeled as CLOSED.As an aside: yes, we did voice our concerns over and over to the campus directors, to teachers and even the head of school (all campuses). Things were swept under the carpet and there were no real efforts to rectify the situation or to be accountable for the mistakes made by faculty. We tried, other families tried to no avail.

My kids go to LILA in West Valley and we couldn't be happier with the school, teachers and administration. We love how small the school is (only one class per grade) and the teachers are fabulous. Our kids study all subjects in French and picked up the language so quickly. I love hearing them speak French. It's amazing how easy it is when you start young. We don't speak French at home and that hasn't been an issue. Their English reading and writing is going well, too. We are very happy with the education they are getting. They are also enrolled in some fun after-school activities such as soccer, yoga, cooking and Spanish. I love the after school options. Makes it so easy for the kids to be exposed to other activities without having to drive them to lessons. Lastly, we love the families at West Valley and that we get to be with the same families every year. I highly recommend LILA!
