“Before they remodeled, I think it was better when they were the old way, but they have a bigger variety of made food from their daily. They did not have pizza like they have now.”

“My girlfriend and I were driving over to Squaw from south lake, when her car let us know that we were very low on coolant. The alerts continued so we pulled over to take a look. A mustached guy on a killer Harley pulled over and offered to help us out if we followed him down to Obexer's. After looking at their website I believe it was Moe. Sure enough he topped off our coolant and wouldn't even accept a few bucks. Now I don't own a boat but if I ever do, that's the type of dude I would want helping me out. Genuine as can be, great to see that there are still people like that out there. Moe I owe you a beer!”

“There’s a deli in the back that has the best sandwiches, sushi, and salads! If you’re looking for a quick and healthy snack to grab before a trip to the lake this is my favorite spot! They also have benches outside to relax amongst the trees ?”

“There is an amazing baker here making the tastiest cinnamon rolls. I came by the market in February at opening when the rolls were coming out of the oven. They normally come with cream cheese frosting for those who like the richness of it, but I’m allergic to cream cheese. Dinorah, the baker, was kind enough to make a simple sugar icing for the two cinnamon rolls I bought. I ate one warm while at the market. I had the other one after snowboarding and it was still fantastic. I’m back here in April for 3 days and l’ve bought 8 more cinnamon rolls to share with friends, but honestly, I’ve eaten most of them. I call before I come to request the sugar icing, and she’s so kind to accommodate. I haven’t tried the other baked goods as I’m obsessed with the cinnamon roll, but they look delicious.”

“Best Mexican Meat market in town. Lovely local family owned mom and pop shop. We regularly pick up their rice, beans, pico and chopped seasoned chicken or pork. It's so good! Grab queso and tortillas and dinner is done! Great selection of specialty items too. This week I also got some dog bones from them! My girls are SO HAPPY! They're huge. And so much cheaper than from the pet store, plus I'm sure better quality.”

“I was a little bit surprised by the low rating. I shopped at this location for breakfast ideas for a morning and there was not much to complain. The store was small, considering it is in Tahoe area it is very understandable. The breakfast section has a lot of choices, ranging from hot food to cold deli. The quality of course can't compete with actual restaurant, but decent for a grocery store. The customer service are mostly very nice, I was completely new here and talked with 4 associates and all of them were very helpful. One of them helped me to figure out when the donut would arrive (it was from a bigger Safeway through trucks) and the ETA was right on. Another helped me found out the price of donut in bundles and helped me load the assorted donuts, and the third one gave me great recommendations for cold sandwich. The only one that let me down is the one at the check out, despite I told her that half dozen donut has a bundle price as told by the store manager, she just didn't do any checking but simply said that she never heard of it. I was in a hurry and the difference was small so it was not worth dragging store manager into the conversation. I think people should get their expectation right when giving ratings, it does not make sense to compare the food quality and customer service of a grocery store to a fancy fine dining restaurant.”

“I could honestly see many folks giving this Safeway one star, but I'm giving it four and I'll two you why: service under pressure. This place gets absolutely bombarded with folks, both tourists and locals all times of the year. It isn't uncommon to struggle to find a parking space, and the lines can become exceedingly long. While I know this can be very frustrating, you also have to understand how hard the people in this store are working to keep everything up and running.”

“More expensive than the grocery store, but prices aren’t too expensive for the convenience. They have a huge variety of unique “healthier”/organic products you wouldn’t find at somewhere such as 7/11. Rather than the store being filled with mostly snack, there is a large portion of shelves stocked with typical items from the market such as pasta, pancake/cookie/cake mixes, and products you would use in a home cooked meal. No produce though but there is freshly baked bread.”
