I am from Melbourne, Australia, and visited this Shell in Lake Tahoe in September 2022. Unbeknownst to me, I left my driver's licence in the store. I was completely blown away when I received a package at my home address last week containing my licence which had been sent via Air Mail all the way from Lake Tahoe. My sincere thanks to the staff/business who went to the trouble and expense of returning this to me. What a wonderful example of kindness and community. I wish the best to all involved and recommend others travelling to the area to stop and fill up here - from memory the hamburgers were a real treat!

5-star bathroom! Super clean and well maintained!Cashier was awesome! Our friend's car broke down and the cashier gave us information about a local service to get them home since triple a couldn't be bothered.

I bought a coffee here this morning 4-8-2022@ 7:10 am. For $2..69. I was in and out in 3 minutes. Mi issue is that coffee is VERY bitter and this morning, barely warm. I walked back into the store and explained to the lady my concern over the terrible tasting coffee which I could handle but not that it was barely warm. She said it’s because the milk is in the fridge and I said well I didn’t use any, and she said well I don’t make up the prices around here so…I’ll never stop here again.

This place isn't open 24hrs. My family and I got on the road at 4am and stopped by to get gas and they were closed. We called the number several times on the door with no answer. Please don't advertise that you are open 24hrs when you clearly are not and people depend on your service. We expected them to be open (based on 24hr sign on door) to get gas on our way back to the Bay Area and had to return back to our cabin with the little gas we had in our car - thank god we made it back. I know our fault to drive until gas light turns red, but Tahoe City and the West Shore don't have many options to fill up.

It's weird to write a review for a gas station right? Well...let me tell you a little story. Going to Tahoe for the weekend seemed like a great idea. Finding a room was easy. Walking around while it lightly snowed was lovely. Getting stuck in a snow storm, in a car with rear wheel drive...not the biz. Soooo after a very slow drive to try to get to Tahoe City to find a place with chains this Chevron calls out like a beacon of light, or whatever. Alex who works here was great. He found the right type of chains for my car and assisted in getting the chains on the car (which is def not his job). He went above and beyond and deserves some recognition. So shout out to him!

Overall this was a convenient gas station to get gas. It felt safe and was in an easy location to access. They have a convenience store and car wash as well. I did not utilize either of them. The reason for 4 stars was the gas prices. They were very high, I guess that is to be expected, but definitely a negative of getting gas here.
