Stopped by for a quick grocery grab. Prices are the same as your usual Safeway. Merie could use a big attitude adjustment though. She was very disrespectful and rude to the people in front of me, and me and my wife. If it wasn’t for her I would give it a 5 star.

I feel so fortunate to have Lisa at our family’s go-to Safeway in Tahoe City. We are frequently greeted with a smile and my son knows he has a kind person he can rely on for help and a hug. I’m honestly in awe of her abundant energy and the way she can meet all the store’s many customers where they are at. 5 stars for keeping the action flowing.

I wanted to take a moment and recognize Lisa at the Tahoe City Safeway. She works so hard! Whether it's a nightmare tourist season or just us locals at the store she is always friendly, always has a smile on and is ready to help. She bounces from checker to checker to help, she assists the self-checkout line, she opens a lane herself it will help ease the chaos, and I'm sure so much more. She's so personable and fun-loving. I hope she'll be recognized as amazing when the new store opens for business.

I was a little bit surprised by the low rating. I shopped at this location for breakfast ideas for a morning and there was not much to complain. The store was small, considering it is in Tahoe area it is very understandable. The breakfast section has a lot of choices, ranging from hot food to cold deli. The quality of course can't compete with actual restaurant, but decent for a grocery store. The customer service are mostly very nice, I was completely new here and talked with 4 associates and all of them were very helpful. One of them helped me to figure out when the donut would arrive (it was from a bigger Safeway through trucks) and the ETA was right on. Another helped me found out the price of donut in bundles and helped me load the assorted donuts, and the third one gave me great recommendations for cold sandwich. The only one that let me down is the one at the check out, despite I told her that half dozen donut has a bundle price as told by the store manager, she just didn't do any checking but simply said that she never heard of it. I was in a hurry and the difference was small so it was not worth dragging store manager into the conversation. I think people should get their expectation right when giving ratings, it does not make sense to compare the food quality and customer service of a grocery store to a fancy fine dining restaurant.

I have been a customer of Safeway since I was a child and I have been shopping at this particular Safeway for almost 9 years. The staff is always inviting and helpful when needed. I’ve had a particularly memorable experience with Lisa. She has always gone above and beyond to make sure my needs are met as well as being kind, caring and compassionate to my two little girls that she has seen grow since birth. My girls and I always look forward to seeing Lisa on every shopping trip!

No parking, long lines, rude employees, dated meat, empty shelves. Horrible experience. What a mess. I will never go back to this Safeway again.

I was ridiculed and talked down to by a self checkout clerk for making a simple mistake.
Really felt apart of the community there, good times.
