Very nice girls every time I come in here. I just wish the app actually showed me my current balance. It takes DAYS to catch up and there’s been multiple times that I’ve spent money I didn’t have because of it. I wanted to support local business but I can’t be guessing what’s in my own account all the time.

I went in to open an account & the lady who was helping me was so rude and acted as if I had no business being there. I will not go back, my fiancé has an account there so I was going to open one at the same bank, but I left in tears due to her treatment. I have had a bank account in Bakersfield for years and wanted one that was local, but she spoke to me as if I could not handle one. She was really rude I couldn’t believe it. I went to another bank that was local and it was so welcoming.

West America, worst... bank... ever! RUN AWAY!! Customer service always talks down to you like they are doing you a favor, just horrible. I went online, like always do to make sure my direct deposit went through. I was looking at a zero balance, wait, what? My account was closed with no notice; how about a letter, phone call, text or email? They claimed it was a computer error and snipely told me to call about the direct deposit that it was not their problem but yet they caused said problem. Not to mention I had been banking with them for 20 years and the fees are just horrendous. Also would like to add I found out about this yesterday when I was at the store picking up Thanksgiving dinner but my card was declined and hence no dinner for today, way to go Westamerica! Thank you so much, you guys just suck big time!

I just love how I locked my checking account in at FREE checking over 15+ years ago at WESTAMERICA bank - with a guarantee of never seeing bank fees ever- but they still find a way to charge a total of $8+ bank fees each month. Oh a $1 here, then days later $1.50 for that, and then $3.60 for this, etc. Way to keep your long time customers Westamerica. Yet, they wonder why they keep losing customers left and right. Take your money to other banks in town. Maybe they won't steal and lie as much as this bank. Plus you won't have to deal with them being rude and slow as molasses.
