I did find everything I was looking for. I picked up some fresh fruit, but come to find out after I get home to eat it, every single piece of mango was rock hard... :\ The fruit bowl was 95% full of rock hard green mangos... Nice Safeway- trying to get rid of the under ripe fruit to your consumers... :\

The store is not stocked with the essentials. Many rows of shelves are empty. Limited staff, major price gouging. Produce is very limited to older items. There's a rumor going around every one is closing down for 2 weeks. Causing unreasonable hording.

If you want to find the store with the absolute worst customer service and longest lines, look no further. It's not the workers fault, no! It's the management. There are 6 or more check stands, but it's rare to see more than one open. What's not rare is to have a line of 8 to 10 customers waiting impatiently for the single checkout stand that's open. Almost every single time I'm in there. New management needs to be brought in and change the hiring practices for checkers. Ridiculous! Also, you'll find some of the highest prices of any Safeway anywhere. It's not that Susanville is out in the middle of nowhere, it's price gouging plain and simple. Better to go to IGA Susanville Supermarket. Where two's a crowd, the bakery is on point, and customer service is second to none

When you spend $32 on New York strip steaks you expect tender New York strips not shoe leather. Where do they get this second rate meat from? Will be paying more but Idaho gets my meat buying business now!

Larger, tall male checker was extremely rude to me as i was purchasing alcohol. I shop here every single day and 100% understand the carding laws and even with a legal ID he extremely rudely questioned whether i was with a group of kids that were in line ahead of me. Mind you they were already shopping and we just all ended our shopping at the same time as lots of people do. I understand however this guy needs customer service training. He was the rudest employee I've ever come across.

Check out lines are always backed up deli food quality fair left in warmers too long not fresh and always out of most items at peak times sandwich makers are really slow IGA can make three sandwich’s to there one shelves always have sale item stickers left on the items after sale has ended and they hope you won’t notice when you check out and pay full price thus earning the nick name rapeway

They never have sanitation wipes, they have expired food on the shelves by months, have so much dust over the deli it’s a wonder it doesn’t fall into the food and their prices are laughable! We walked out with two small bags for $62. We went to Reno and spent $100 on a cart. Save your money and don’t shop here it’s obvious the manager doesn’t care about the location.

Bakery on a Saturday afternoon. Looks like a third world country. Since there is nothing on the shelves, it would be a good time to at least clean them. Pitiful

Extremely disappointed in our local Safeway, they have lost our dollars!! Corporate and District Manager are being contacted. Not going to say anymore till I hear from them. Threaten to arrest someone for taking pictures!

Pretty decent store. But....ahhh, there's always a but when you don't make 5 stars. Amanda and Sailor--- in the deli section making sandwiches and etc? Here's the deal. It seems to me, ladies, that you should know that forks and napkins and spoons are essential to the deli business. After walking around and not finding any, you can imagine that the average Joe or...Jodi might be mildly annoyed. Not ticked..., not upset, just --you know kind of like a fly buzzing. No biggie. Upon asking for a spoon, you advised something to the effect that "you have to ask for spoons ..........now.....?" Whatever. After sitting down to my hot chicken soup, I noticed I didn't have a napkin. Back to the counter. "Excuse me, ma'am, any napkins?" Now I am 58. You? Well gentlemen don't ask nor do they venture to guess. Suffice it to say, I am older. So, the appropriate response ....I think, would be to say "very sorry, sir" or "one moment please and I'll help you out." Instead, w/o even looking at me you said...."--go over to Starbucks." So, now you mix in that annoyance with the fact that I can't find a dang napkin, had to search for a spoon and it's become a "double --maybe a triple whammy" if you will. (Depends on how you count, e.g., attitude, and whether you count the napkin and the spoon separately). I wandered over to Starbucks again and can't find napkins. NAAPPPPKINS! They're not in plain site, that's for sure. So back to the counter. I make a point this time of looking at your name tags. I ask, "can you please get some napkins" to which you respond "we're out, that's why I sent you over to Starbucks." OK, back over to Starbucks. I wait for the lady to finish with her frappe-whatever for a customer and ask for a napkin. She advised that they're back around the corner. Hidden in my view.....but----whatever, my soup's getting cold. Aside from the customer-service niceties and the fact that the deli is out of key utensils .....aside from the fact that Amanda and Sailor didn't seem to give a rat's behind....nor, apparently the store management, HERE IS WHAT GIVES ME HOPE!!!!!! Sailor tracked me down! !!!!!!! Yup!!!! She sought me out. I was at Starbucks sipping soup. She didn't apologize. Nor, did she smile . But, she did walk over to Starbucks where I was having my soup and asked why I looked at her nametag --which is not your everyday name--Sailor. I told her I just wanted a napkin. She advised again that she didn't have any. I said ---ok, thank you. But, the fact that she searched me out suggests she CARES. Perhaps there were other motives. Perhaps she was pissed that I dared to get her name. But, I choose to believe she CARES. In the future Amanda and Sailor.....I know work can be a drudgery....and people who are having bad days can add to your own difficulties....but; suck it up butter cup!!!! Smile. Try to be helpful. Smoke and joke with the customers dragging their feet in a funk. I'll bet if you make someone smile.....you'll feel better. That's all. Now get some forks, spoons, and napkins out. And if the manager says he doesn't have any; you might use it as your first joke to a customer who will look at you, relate, and be totally in synch with how you're feeling. Remember. Smile . It'll pay off.

Went into Susanville Safeway to get dinner for company and talked with deli clerk, asked about how fresh the chicken tenders were and they said they were fresh. got home and took one bite and breading was hard as a rock, broke a tooth i had just paid to get root canal and crown done on it. Called the deli and woman who answered was belligerent and rude and i had her on speaker phone and everyone in the living-room heard her and all agreed she doesn't need to deal with public but unfortunately she didn't give me a name. Even the german shepherd wouldn't eat the chicken. Shame on you Safeway!!!!! Now i am facing a $700 dental bill

Once again - without my glasses - I bought food that was so close to being out of date that it's no use. I've seen food more than once that is past its date in this store. That's my last time shopping here for food - IGA is more like expensive, but I've never seen food past its selling date the way I have at this Safeway store. Ridiculous!!!!
