“With U S Bank being one of the only banks in Susanville expect a weight I had to schedule an appointment to open an account and it was 5 days out and then I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time before anyone even spoke to me. Decent bank with a lot of branches”

“I recently opened a bank account with Golden 1 and they were pleasant. They give you a call after a few days to make sure everything is working and you have no issues or concerns. However after trying to deposit my first check with them I was informed there would be a 9 day hold on it (what?!). I've never had to deal with anything like that at my other bank.I took my check back and was driving to my other bank to deposit the check there when I received a call from the Golden 1 branch and they told me there was some misunderstanding/policy differences between that particular Bank Teller's normal work location and here. They wanted to see if I would return and they would take care of me. Thank you for reaching out Golden 1!I was probably going to close that account because that 9 day waiting period was never explained when I opened the account and after reading the "Special Rules for New Accounts" and if I'm understanding this right... the check I was depositing should have been available the next day. However it does state that within 30 days of opening an account if its not a certain type of check you do have to wait 9 days. Just be warned and know the policies of a bank when you open an account.Edit: This would of been a 1 star review and a closed account, but the fact that they reach out and gave me a call shortly after this interaction shows they are trying their best to treat their members well.
