We have shopped this store since the day it opened. The staff has become family. The Pharmacy takes special care of us. There’s always a challenge finding the best price for our medication and they always work for our benefit. That’s very special. I know they are taking care of me and my family.

Fast and efficient service, especially if you preorder refills from their website. Have never had any issues, and have been coming for a few years now. Rarely a line here so that part is faster too.Much better than regular pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS which always have multiple people in line… especially Walgreens. Finally, being connected to Safeway makes it and easy stop to pick up groceries at great prices. This Bernardo location is far superior to the Shoreline location. Better run and better parking. There is also a Tesla Supercharger here as well as some regular EV chargers.

Great, fast, convenient service. There are never any lines, and the pharmacists are always friendly and helpful.

I have been shopping at this store since 2010, I would take my mom to get her groceries until she could no longer go shopping. Every time we went in Sergio The front end manger greeted her with genuine kindness and was alway wonderful to her. Once she couldn't go I went for her he gave the same genuine kindness to me. When the store manager transferred they brought in another manger name Victor. He was not very personable for the first year, his demeanor was unapproachable, employees who say he wasn't kind and it was sad because before that they all seemed happy. He hires is friends and treats them nicely, he offers promotions when he gets in a predicament then takes the offer away. I have heard this story for the last 5 years. He treats courtesy clerks who are on the spectrum with no empathy. He screams at customers, homeless people, other employees in front of customers it's unacceptable. For lack of a better word he has manic customer. It I was in a position to go to another store I would. There are some wonderful people who work there Kevin, Kurt, The twins, Rod, Samuel, Cynthia, Josue, Idalma, Sandra, Terry, Jesus, Scott, Cynthia at Starbucks, Dennison, the bakery manager, deli manager, Ashley, Jasmine and Jeff. When I see Victor I leave and go to another store I've spent so much money there in a global pandemic because it's across the street from my house and it was safe. I will never set foot in there as long as he is the manger.

Selection was down for obvious reasons (I was looking for paper towels, there were none...no napkins or toilet paper either, the entire shelf was bare) but people were nice, helpful, and courteous. And the check stand right next to me opened up as I was getting into line. No long lines it waits. Took me less than 15 minutes in all and I got everything I needed (except paper towels)! Pleasantly surprised! But I don’t shop there regularly as I live in SJ.

Done shopping here. If you can't provide bags that work, you can't have my business. Today I bought two bags of groceries, and both failed before I got in my door. This is hardly the first time it's happened to me. I've mentioned this to cashiers, and they say hear it all the time. The Safeway down the street has plastic bags that work. Shop there, or Nob Hill. It's worth the extra drive to not have to clean up eggs. Also, what's with the dairy section? How hard is it to keep milk in stock? Other stores do it. This one is out regularly. On the plus side, the staff is nice.

This is for the pharmacy. Dominick was my cashier and he at first refused to sell me a generic Zyrtec D drug probably because my eyes were red and I was sneezing a lot and having a hard time breathing. All of the effects of severe allergies. Which is what I was purchasing the pills for. I handed him my ID kindly and he threw it back to me when he was finished scanning it. I really hate the fact that people judge you for what you look like. I'm sorry I was suffering with allergies at the time of my purchase. Just because other people abuse these medications majority of the people actually NEED THEM. Wish I could give Dominick zero stars. He doesn't even deserve one.

Decent Safeway. Not sure why the reviews are so low. They have all the stuff you really need at a Safeway including a ton of cheesecakes. You can't go wrong with cheesecakes. A pretty large location overall, and besides cheesecakes, they also have a ton of wine. Can't go wrong with that either. Clean and pretty easy to find what you're looking for. Thumbs up.

I this Safeway is only getting one star because it can't be any lhave no words to describe how angry I am right now. Earlier tonight I was at this Safeway in Sunnyvale picking up eggs and butter to bake with the kid I babysit. There was a woman in line who couldn't afford all of her groceries. She was paying with her food stamps and didn't have enough to cover the cost of paper towels and diaper wipes. I offered to cover the difference and the cashier told me I couldn't. So the woman said she didn't want the items. When it was my turn, I told the cashier that I wanted to buy the items for her. She said no. This woman, told me I was not allowed to buy paper towels and diaper wipes to help this other woman in need. Needless to say, I got angry. I asked her why I couldn't, and she kept saying it was store policy. Apparently Safeway does not want its customers to be kind to others! I told her she had no right to tell me how to spend my money and that I could buy the items. She kept saying I couldn't. She called her manager over, and her manager said I could buy them so she rung me up.... I really have no words for how disgusted I am by this whole thing. This woman, refused to let me help someone in need. Someone who was just trying to buy things that most of us take for granted. WORST SAFEWAY EVER. DON'T SHOP THERE! UPDATE: I called their corporate office, and the person I spoke to said what happened was unacceptable. She also took my name and number, and told me that someone from that store would be calling me to address my concerns. Well, I called 5 days ago and no one has reached out to me. This is unacceptable. The blatant racism I experienced has gone uncheck and Safeway needs to be accountable.

This review is for Arlene at the Bakery. I ordered a 10" 2-layer white birthday cake with white buttercream filling and white buttercream icing. I wasn't sure on the colors to decorate the cake, but after much back and forth, I decided. I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out since there were no birthday cakes on display which were good examples of the colors I wanted. The cake turned out to be absolutely beautiful and incredibly delicious. I want to especially thank the very charming and patient Arlene for her help.

Sooooo tired of them being out of 96% lean ground beef and roasted chicken breasts! The ground beef they had in the case the other day looked rotten too. Disturbing that they would even try to sell it! I'm going to just start driving farther to other stores to get what I need.

They refuse to help when they sell you a fraudulent gift card. They are rude about it and give you a phone number. Never buy gift cards from this location or any Safeway's in general. Amazing how unhelpful they are

n this pharmacy fraudulent behavior is very common, pharmacist is rude and blunt with the customers and personal of other pharmacies. They provide incorrect information, refuse to transfer prescriptions, do not sent required documents to the customers, and never sign the documents (drugs costs forms for IRS) correctly. Manager of the branch supported refusal of the pharmacist to sign the document with a fool name explaining that they are not allowed to.disclose names by the store policy. We had to come to the pharmacy 5 times to get any paper at all. The last time we were informed that the document had been mailed to us several days ago, so we could not get it in store. This “mailed†paper did not come to us even in a week.
