Friendly staff, clean building, and fair prices. Expect to spend up to 40 minutes waiting for them to wash/clean the vehicle when you come to pick it up. I don't understand why they don't wash/clean the day before. Also they are closed on Sundays and haven't made the simple change required in Google to correct the information.

If you have a plan, dont rent here. Even if you make a reservation, you will not get what you reserved when you walk in. The team at this location doesnt even have the courtesy to update you ahead of time. And this is a regular situation

Honestly, I don't like leaving negative reviews but the brown guy at the counter is incredibly unpleasant to work with. He raises his voice even when the customer is calm and escalates the situation. He did this to not just us but the other customers behind us. It's almost like he's trying to pick a fight with people. If he's burned out of this work, he should really find a different job or his manager needs to retrain employees on customer service.

Probably the worst rental experience I’ve had in my 10 years of renting vehicles.- The hertz website claims to offer pickup and dropoff for customers within 5 miles, but upon calling this location i was ridiculed and told that “our staff does not have time for this”. Same thing upon returning the car( I live around 3 miles from the Hertz location).- Car was not cleaned but I was running on a schedule so did not argue.- While returning the car I was rudely asked to take the car for a wash and detailing because there was a some shoe dust on the floor mats or pay a hefty cleaning fee.

This was hands down the best experience I had with a rental agency. A very special commend for Mr. Mohammad at the front desk. He was very kind, professional and helpful and went above and beyond to help us out. He made our experience very easy. The manager of the facility (Simone- I cannot remember the name) was also super helpful and friendly. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking to rent a car in the Sunnyvale area.

I picked up my rental vehicle on Sunday December 10 in the morning. The gentleman at Hertz Sunnyvale, CA office was professional and cogent. He facilitated my EV rental efficiently and informed me of all the costs at pick up. The Hertz Sunnyvale office was very clean, bright and had very comfortable seating and lovely artwork displayed. The return of my rental was swift and nearly effortless. I had not charged the EV and was informed of the additional charge which I anticipated. Despite having a Hertz location closer to me in Los Gatos, I willfully opted to continue my patronage with the Hertz Sunnyvale office with another EV rental vehicle because of the professional and efficient customer service I received from the gentleman at the Hertz Sunnyvale office, in addition to the cleanliness and comfort of Hertz Sunnyvale office and the convenient hours of availability.

Mohammed literally SAVED the day for my daughter and I. We called several locations of Hertz only to be told they didn't have the car size we needed in stock and to try again tomorrow morning. Obviously, that wasn't an option because her move in time was 11:30am the next day and the drive to her college would take us at least 2 hours. We called Sunnyvale and spoke to Mohammed. He told me they had a Chevy Malibu in stock and would hold it for me. He told me to come before they closed and the rental would be mine. We made our way there and true to his word he had held it for me. Mohammed made my stressful day so much better. We bonded on stories of our children going to college. He was kind, caring and very pleasant to the customers that came in to do a return / rent a car. When I went to return the car he remembered me and asked how the move went. If I ever need another rental I will definitely be back to see Mohammed. Another plus is that they're open on the weekends! I was told only the Sunnyvale and Palo Alto Hertz locations are open on the weekends.

I gave this company every chance I could to prevent this review but here we are months later. So our adventure begins with a road trip to Los Angeles for a convention. Our car had been having issues so we thought why not rent a car to ease our worries. We rented a compact car I think it was a supposed to be a Toyota Corolla or something similar. We showed up to pick up our rental only to be told sorry all they have are electric cars. After some talking with the rep he let us know that electric cars charge really fast (like full charge in 30 mins) these days with rapid chargers and their ranges are actually pretty good now so you should be able to make it to SoCal with maybe one or two quick stops to charge up. Well we thought that wouldn't be so bad since my wife needs frequent restroom breaks anyways and we can stop somewhere to get something to eat too. This would have probably been the truth had they given us a Tesla but no we were given a Chevy Bolt EUV. Anyways we get on the road around 10 PM (we like to avoid traffic by driving late) expecting to get to LA around 3:30 AM cruising at about 70 mph. As we are driving we notice and the range is drastically lower than what's on screen. It said we had 250 miles of range but we had only gone about 70 miles and we were at half a charge! Turns out the in-city mileage is better for electric cars (would have been nice to know). Additionally using the heater would also drastically lower the range and it was nighttime and about 50 degrees outside so of course we were using it. So we decide to stop at a "rapid charger" and it turns out not only are they hard to find since there isn't a huge network of charges like Tesla super charges but certain chargers only operate during certain hours and many turn off late at night. We find our first charger. We struggle to get it charging since one of the chargers wasn't working. Luckily the second one was working. Anyways plug the thing and and see that estimated charging completion was going to be over an hour and a half. WTF we were told it would charged in 30 minutes. We unbeknownst to us and our Hertz rep, not all rapid chargers are equal and this is rapid charging for a non-Tesla. So we sit and wait. 1.5 hours later, we hop on the road this time cruising at 55 mph and no heater this time. We stop in SLO to charge again. We barely make it to Santa Barbara for our third charge up and this time it's going to take 2.5 hours since the battery was lower. We try our best to get some sleep in the car but it's cold and uncomfortable. We get on the road again and we have to top off the charge to make sure we get to our hotel just as we are getting to into the LA area. All in all our trip took over 12 hours it was only supposed to take 5 and half. So to say the least we weren't happy with our electric car experience. Next day we go to another Hertz to swap the car because we were not going to do this again on our drive back. They were great at this location and swapped it out fairly quickly. Only drawback was the replacement car reeked of marijuana, but oh well. So our trip back was thankfully uneventful, we dropped the car off tell a different rep about our experience and let them know that not all electric cars are the same. If we had been given a Tesla our experience probably would have been fine but we weren't. We told them to please inform all the reps about the drawbacks and that were would like some kind of refund. They apologized but let us know all refunds would need to be handled through customer service. I cannot stress how bad their customer service is. I called in just to have reps tell me they are sorry over and over and how they understand but they wouldn't be issuing any refunds. They said they could give us a $20 gift certificate though. I said no that's not acceptable. They said they would call back with a supervisor. Never got the call (figures). Call again this time I get a supervisor they say they can do a $50 gift certificate. I'm still not happy with this. Th

Had a problem with the car we rented - weak brakes and grinding transmission. Thank you Muhammad for your outstanding customer service and professional approach to quickly resolve the problem by providing an alternate vehicle. Could not afford to have a breakdown on the road with our young grandson in the first vehicle. Muhammad went even further by personally inspecting and personally approving the replacement vehicle before providing it to us.

It is an amazing thing when you find someone who still cares about customer service. Travis went above and beyond to find us the car that was unavailable everywhere and even stayed an hour late to make sure we could pick it up. He even went another extra mile and was cleaning the car when we arrived. We can't thank Travis enough, and with so many rental car option, Hertz won our loyalty by hiring such a wonderful human being. Thank you Travis! My son's birthday is a success because of you!

Waited in line then was told they aren’t filling any reservations that were made same day. Beyond wasting a trip to Hertz and having travel plans affected, it’s annoying that they couldn’t at least try to save people from waiting in line by just announcing to everyone waiting that same day reservations won’t be honored.

I recently had the pleasure of hiring a car from a Hertz rental car Sunnyvale, and the service far exceeded my expectations. Mohammed's crew handled every element of my rental transaction with the great care from start to finish. Car arrived on time, it was was clean, and the gas tank was full.

We rented a minivan from Sunnyvale Hertz. The inside wasn't cleaned prior to the rental and was filthy. Sunnyvale Hertz was notified that there was a toxic smell in the minivan and an exchange was requested. They said nothing was wrong with the minivan and wouldn't exchange the vehicle. We didn't drive the minivan because breathing in the toxic fumes made me sick and I didn't want to put my children's heath at risk. Seriously, one could smell the car from 20 feet away. It must be nice for a service business not work Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays because I went return car on Friday and end the contract early but the office was closed.Unsatisfied I called the roadside assistance line to report the car wasn't drivable, which took another day. Hertz wouldn't deliver another rental vehicle and wouldn't give us another rental until the toxic minivan was in their possession. We had to go to out of our way to San Jose airport for another minivan. When the tow truck driver arrived he said it gave him a headache just to put the minivan in neutral. When I called Sunnyvale Hertz to ask for a refund for those days we didn't drive the car, they kept their stance saying nothing wrong with the car.I called the main customer service number and they told me there was nothing they could do until the rental was returned. I told them I didn't understand why the wait because the toxic minivan was in their possession. I'm a fairly patient person so I waited until we returned the car. When I called customer service, they gave me the run around. They had no intention of assisting me. I told them my patience had run out and I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB).Delay tactics were ridiculous and I had to follow up with customer service several times before the refund was issued. They never said what the toxic smell was that endangered the health of my family. I don't know how companies can stay in business treating customers the way they do today. Hertz will no longer receive business from our family or friends and I hope this review helps you to seek a rental service who put people first.

THEY CLOSE AT 5pm!! NOT 6pm as indicated on here.And no they were not sorry for the inconvenience and the time and money I lost because of the wrong hours listed here.Nope and the employees weren’t apologetic for it either.What a horrible company!!!
