Tonight, I had a profoundly disappointing experience at Big5 that involved apparent discriminatory behavior toward Muslim customers, especially those who are elderly. It was disheartening to witness such unprofessionalism and disrespect from a customer service representative who displayed a negative attitude towards an elderly Muslim man and his two young daughters, one of whom was wearing a hijab. The interaction lacked decency and was characterized by intimidation, an outright refusal of service from the outset, and unjustified threats to call the police. Furthermore, the representative refused to provide names or contact numbers for managers or customer service.
After leaving the store, I contacted the police to describe the situation. They confirmed that the behavior I encountered was disrespectful and advised me to contact Big5's customer service via their 800 number, stating that the situation did not warrant police intervention. Additionally, it was disturbing to see the representative take video recordings of me and my minor daughters and our car while refusing to show her face, hiding her badge, and using indecent, sarcastic language against us.
I intend to follow up with the appropriate agencies and Big5 corporate to ensure this serious issue is addressed.

I really like their frequent discount coupons, frequent sales, especially their one and three day coupons, they have valuable savings, consistently, which I really like. Any sporting goods items you can think of is here at Big 5. Been coming to their various stores since the 80's. Good selections of shoes. Too bad they no longer sell rifles & shotguns, as they had some really great prices on those in the past. Make sure you're subscribed to Big 5 coupons, as they have amazing deals on Ammo, many times $15.00 for 9mm 50 count, sometimes no limit. Go buy your ammo now before July 1st, as ammo will go up 11% on July 1.

Honestly. It's the first time I've gone to that place. I went to change some pants that didn't fit. My wife bought them for me and I changed them if they gave them to me, but the truth is. I didn't like how. They treated me as much as the store manager and the employee, the manager even raised his voice at me. And the employee reluctantly told me this is the first and last time I stop at that place.

The gentleman with the sleeve tattoos is not stoked on helping in Shoes. "I'll help after I finish this. (Putting hangers on a rack - I am the only customer in the store) I'll meet you over there". Then he says under his breath "Oh. So now you're just gonna stand there"

I was searching for some soccer shoes. I was hoping to get some shoes on our vacation because we don't really have a sporting goods store in Hawaii. We searched on Yelp and found that Big5 was close to where we were staying. Big 5 is a pretty big store. They have equipment and supplies for all types of sports. I saw that the shoes were in the back so I immediately walked back there. I found some that looked interesting so I looked around to see if someone was working in the shoe department. I didn't see anyone. I waited for a bit because maybe they were in the back. No one came so I went to the front cashier and asked him if I could get some help. He said he would send someone to me. After waiting for a bit more, no one came. I just decided to try the one that they had on the shelf since it was my size. I just tried it on and took note of what size I was. After that, we just walked out. No one came to help and the guy I asked was still in the front. It's like he was the only one working. Sad business

I purchased a LitezAll lantern which failed to work after 4 months. Kia, in the Sunnyvale store went out of her way to find the receipt in order for me to make a manufacturer claim. This is exceptional customer service which Kia should get a lot of credit.
