“Thankful for this store being in town. They usually are stocked up well with basic items. There's been some empty shelves, but nothing to fault them on with everything going on. This is my easy go-to when I need something.”

“This company is absolutely AMAZING! The customer service is profound. I was skeptical at first just because I had never heard of the company and there were only 2 reviews. The owner contacted me personally to square up an international shipment which I wasn’t expecting at all. The shipment arrived to my husband in less than 2 weeks which is also surprising because things just don’t make it overseas that quickly. My home base is Florida and UAE ?? where I had the item shipped. This will be my go to site before Amazon?”

“I am so happy that this is a DG market now. The fresh meat cheese and produce was a needed change. The store is always clean. I have never smelled any stench of rottening meat. If I'm unable to find what I need at the DG market, I go to the store located right next door where there is a large variety of fresh vegetables. Now all lake Los Angeles needs is a Starbucks”

“I don't know why but 99. Cents store should change the name to 1.2 to 4 dollars store. Is not 99 cents anymore. And don't tell me I'd the inflammation because I know a kiosk in Sylmar who's owner isn't a mega chain and they have everything under 1 dollar. She have lotions , snacks for 50 cents. Etc etc...”

“This Lake LA Family Dollar store has the tall and long poles on shopping carts, I purchased 1 bag of 22 lbs. of cat food, and 3 each of 12 pack Pepsi. Because of the poles I cannot take cart to my car, (which I understand because of cart theft and/or rolling carts on windy days roll down 170th St), I had to make 3 trips back and fourth to my car, unlocking the trunk each time, the final trip the 12 pack Pepsi ripped, 1 can punctured a hole, now I'm fustrarated. I once again go into the store to tell cashier I need to exchange 1 can, do I open a 12 pack, or get a can of a 6 pack? As simple as that should have been, it wasn't. Why? In between all this shenanigans an employee shift change occurred, So this cashier said, "uhhh no I don't think so, uhhh there should be a number or something on back of the can, maybe Pepsi can send you a single can voucher coupon." Honestly I don't know if she was serious or just making a wisecrack, basically I kept my Kool about 90%, rather than us arguing over a punctured Pepsi can caused by a shopping cart pole, (for the most part), what I did is simply dumped the remaining Pepsi into trash can by slidding doors, then placed the punctured empty can into the little plastic hand carry shopping thingy, then grabbed a 16oz bottle from the Pepsi Refrigerator display and walked out to my car and went home. My question and (2) solutions I thought of regarding customers that have heavy and/or bulky and/or simply a lot of merchandise is (solution #1) have poles that can be removed (or have the pole fold in half) by Family Dollar employee(s) only, with a simple turn of a key, customer takes cart outside to car, then customer brings cart back in to store, (probably 95% of customers will bring it back in), family dollar employee reattaches the pole, (or fold back to tall position.) or (solution #2), a Family Dollar employee (ready at door the first second after customer has paid) carries everything to Customers vehicle. (Myself I prefer solution #1, however I would be satisfied with solution #2 as well) If there was available parking spaces near the doors I would have simply moved my car and loaded, but the Lake LA store generally is a busy store with sometimes on occasion actually has no available parking spaces, in fact it's the only location that I know of with 6 checkstands / 6 cashiers all open at same time. My opinion also is this is totally a deterrent of customers purchasing things they originally did not plan to buy. What I mean by that is like a month from now, when I walk in to the Lake LA store for another 22 lbs. bag of cat food, I am about 97% sure that will be the only thing I walk out with, Why? Simply because it's just way to stressful if I buy anything else. What really kind of sucks how I ended up feeling foolish when the Pepsi can punctured and sprayed out while rolling down the parking lot I was laughed at by the 2 children being strapped into the car seats in the van parked next to me. I know that's not Family Dollars fault, kids are simply being anyway thank you”

“Always greeted with a "Welcome!" when entering and the employees and manager are always in a good mood. Personable, knowledgeable and professional employees make the shopping experience much nicer than other "value" stores and their overall selection is fantastic. From TV Dinners to tennis shoes, motor oil to mashed potatoes, they probably have it.”
