I ordered a Wolverine Thumbhole a few years back, when Richards was the only place I could find a stock for my Ruger 77. Yes, I had to fit and finish, just like they tell you. Turned out great. I’m completely satisfied. Would not hesitate to order again.

I don't understand the bad reviews from people that state that their stock arrives rough, not glossy like the pictures, barrel won't drop in, etc. It says right on the website that these are "NOT FINISHED" and will need to be sanded and fitted even if they're a 99% inletted stock. Don't blame the company because you didn't read and understand what you were ordering. These stocks are for the guy (or gal) that want to have the satisfaction of saying yes I made this or finished this. I have purchased 2 stocks from them and have had no big issues with getting my action to fit. Yes, you might have to file or sand a little to get it to fit, but they tell you right up front that this isn't a 100% drop in stock.If you want to open a box and drop your barreled action in, then you better go to Boyd's or Stocky Stocks.I did knock a star off because of the the fact you can't order from the website. You have to call in your order, and it's hard to get someone to answer the phone at times.

Excellent, it was a wait... 2 months but I'm in no hurry as everything custom made takes time. Wood is easy to work with, the people leaving 1 star reviews because they are afraid to sand wood and fit an action need to get out a little and enjoy a hobby. Ordered a Mauser inlet and opened it up to take a PT&G bottom metal detachable magazine, took 10 minutes with a disc sander and 180 grit to knock 80% of the tooling marks out of it. Another hour of hand sanding with 320 grit and it was basically finished. I love it, Thank You R.M.

I really like their stock designs which is why I ordered my third stock from them in the past 5 years. My first was a Wild Cat style in Carlo walnut fitted to a Savage 110 with a 22-250 varmint barrel. Still one of my favorite rifles (wait time, eight weeks). The second was a laminated dual grip thumbhole for a small ring Mauser 257 Roberts a beautiful accurate hunting rifle (wait time, 11 weeks). Sounds like 4 or 5 stars thus far. However! I ordered my third stock, a Wolverine style in January hoping to have it ready for my annual Montana prairie dog shoot in May. Four weeks ago, I was told it would be ready by the end of that week. It has now been fifteen weeks, that's five to seven weeks longer than the eight to ten they had promised. If I ever get my stock, it will be my last from them. What a shame, they have a nice product.

Terrible stock took 3 months to arrive and is maybe 80% complete. Looks nothing like the pictures and when try to click on their "finishing kit" link it's "under construction" still from December, so you have no idea what you need. Let me tell you now, your going to need a lot. I would figure 8 hours to get the wood prepped for stain/poly. This stock was cut solely by a machine and has a TON of rough edges. Should have gone with Boyd's. Complete rip-off for the price. Recoil pad still has rubber "strings?" hanging from it where it was ground down to be even with the butt stock. That's how little effort is put into it. What would that have taken, 5 seconds??

Ordered an exhibition maple stock. Nine weeks later I opened a box with one of the most handsome maple rifle stocks I've ever seen. Final inletting/fitting and finish sanding was quite minimal. The finished product is exceptional. No surprises, got better grain figure than what I paid for. Absolutely satisfied!

Dont waste your time with this company. Ordered from them havent seen product. Called them said they were shipping it the next day that was 2 weeks ago still no product. Strongly recommend going somewhere other then there.

I have bought stocks ftom these guys in the past and am lucky they are only 5 miles from my house. I don't need to wait 3 mos for a special order as I can go there and pick up a stock from their available inventory and let me tell you there are plenty to choose from
