Took a bird to them the other day and had the best experience. Wonderful staff, very knowledgeable.

We love Suisun Wildlife Center! Wendy and Jeanie were so wonderful and knowledgeable on wildlife rehabbing. This place is the best.

This facility is run by a woman who is prejudice against men with military backgrounds. I was trying to volunteer here for College Credits for UCD but she treated me like an idiot.

Was able to give them a baby possum and they were so good about it. Such an amazing resource.

This place deserves zero stars just by the people who are employed here. From the other reviews, I believe we are talking about the same female...I live in an open area within the VV/Fairfield area and my kids happened to have came across a bird who excitedly came home to us wanting to save the little baby bird because it had no parents! What does one do? Call the SWC - big mistake. This person treated us so rude and hostile over the phone "YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR KIDS TO GO AND PUT THAT BIRD BACK AND TO NOT TOUCH WILDLIFE". With that tone, I said excuse me? Here we are doing the right thing on calling the "experts" and you're obviously not wanting to help, is there anyone willing to take this call? She continued with the same attitude and I hung up mid sentence. It left such a bad taste that I took it upon myself to google instead of using a local resource - avoid helping and relying on this place.

Staff was rude from the initial phone call. Once I arrived at the facility I was greeted with the same rude experience. I received zero assistance. I would recommend finding staff who is appreciative to those asking for help for abandoned helpless animals.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Terrible experience with them today. Found two abandoned barn owl chicks on a busy sidewalk with no cover or signs of a shelter nearby. They were obviously unable to fly. Since there was no clear nest around I tried to take them here. I was told to put them back on the sidewalk and leave them because it was "perfectly normal and their parents will take care of them" and that I was "on my own" helping them. I'm no expert but I know white fluffy owl chicks on the ground is not normal so I called Lindsay Wildlife for a second opinion. Upon seeing the pictures of the owls Lindsay said they were clearly too young to be or of the nest and to bring them in immediately. Suisun refused to even look at the photo of the owl chicks to verify that they were an appropriate age to be left of the ground. For anyone considering bringing an injured or orphaned animal here, go to Lindsay first.

Wonderful place to view wild animals and birds as well.

I'm not sure why the people who work here are so rude, uncaring and cold. We are supposed to be in it together...caring for animals. This is a place where the community should feel safe going to for help. It makes me so sad that this is what we have for help in Solano County. I wish there was somewhere else to go. :( I pray for every wild animal out there that goes through this facility.

A baby bird was found inside the pavilion behind the bar of my event facility. At first I thought it was dead, however it responded to being held and I could feel its little heart beating strongly. There was no chance of just putting it outside to die, 150 people were showing up for an event and I would have had to deposit the little guy far away from where I found him. I am mostly well educated and know not to pick up baby animals if there is any chance the mother will return, however I made the decision to save the bird. So after somewhat of a long drive to Suisun Wildlife, I thought maybe this organization was meant for me to become acquainted, since I make many donations to animal rescue and instead of just writing a check, I could volunteer, now that I have the time in my life to do so. Upon calling the number, I was subjected to mostly rude pontifications on my behavior. After getting the same lecture 3 times, I told the woman I was at the gate, would she take the bird or not. When she came out, I gave her my little friend that had chirped all the way there, she looked in the box, looked under the towel and commented with a fishy face, "Oh, it is not even a song bird, it is just a turkey." I said I hoped she would still help it. With a look at me of disgust, she turned away with a dismissive "Wow". At that point I had tolerated enough bad behavior and responded that I was one that should be saying...WOW!! Just talked to a neighbor that once volunteered there...the little buddy was probabley thrown outside or feed to the larger animals...wish now I had just tried to take care of it...the heck with the lecture of "You are not allowed to try to rehab wildlife...you are not trained or certified, against the law....blah blah blah", got that too with a suggestion by myself to just try to save it on my own... these people are the worst!

We weren't able to bring our baby sparrow into this facility because we live out of the county, but I want to thank the volunteer who answered my call this morning & listened to our story about the previous 24 hours we spent trying to save the fledgling. She told us what we did right and what we didn't and listened to what our concerns were, and gave us some good advice. She also provided phone numbers of other wildlife rescue centers that might help our fledgling before it died. I never got her name, but I am thankful she listened & steered us in the right direction. I also learned not to give baby birds dog or cat food or eggs, thankfully I had read about Kaytee Exact baby bird feed and I purchased that (it still didn't work for me because the baby wouldn't chirp or open it's mouth) we brought the baby bird to another wildlife rescue in Sacramento.

Despite being closed to the public they took in some abandoned baby birds I found, before a fire started nearby and all the animals had to be released a few hours later. They were really great and took good care of the animals, it just sucked that I drove the 30 minutes there only for the birds to die in the fire later that day. Friggin illegal burners, starting wildfires...

If you find an injured wild animal, call them. They will tell you what to do with it. Give generously to support their program of rehabilitation.
