Horrible customer service, as a family of mechanics we have both comercial and DIY accounts. Purchasing a tool that I might need is a common occurrence most of the time I never return one. But Thursday July 25 at around 8:30pm I took a tool I had purchased on my personal DIY account I might ad literally 8 hours earlier that same day. A Latino looking boy with long hair proceeded to accuse me of using the tool and attempting to return a faulty product. Berating me and assuming I was some con man trying to get my measly 25$ dollars back. He proceeded to rip the tag of the tool saying “you don’t need this you can’t return it” smirking he threw it away. Thanks to the fact I have connections with people in high places I was able to return the part at another store front. I personally will NEVER IN MY LIFE go back to this store and neither will my family. But that’s just me; I couldn’t even begin to imagine the kind of trouble a man would have entering this store with a language barrier and no recourse to travel up the ladder and ask for his money back. It made me think how many times has this boy denied an honest man his return. $25 might not mean a lot to me, but it might be the difference between somebody eating or not. I understand companies are meant to make profits but this goes beyond that this shows a lack of humanity, lack of empathy and a lack of morality. I wish I could give 0/5 stars.

Autozone sold me a belt with the correct packaging but the wrong belt. The belt received is about 2ft where the correct belt for a 92 Corvette is about 5 ft. Today I attempted to return the belt and was told that since it had been 10 months since the purchase, I could have switched the belt. If the analysis us for switching the belt, I could have walked out to my car, switched the belt and immediately walked into the store and got a refund for the belt. They also said the belt in the package is not sold by them. I said its the same belt that they sold me. I further explained that I drove the Corvette to my mechanic in Idaho and had him replace the belt. The purpose of me purchasing the belt from Autozone was in case I had to change it mid trip. They then said my mechanic could have switched the belt. Again sending the blame to someone else.
I will agree with Autozone it took me 9 months to bring the belt back. I returned to Idaho for memorial day weekend and got the belt back from my mechanic then returned to California. I travel for work. I took the Corvette to my mechanic in Idaho. From there, I flew home to Florida until May then returned to California for work. The price of the belt is not a big deal. What irritated me is getting accused of switching the belt and that I could have gone to any number of Autozone's to return the belt. I brought the belt to this Autozone because this is the one that sold me the wrong belt. I don't like the run-around. If I am at fault, then why not be at fault for not returning the item in 30 minutes, 30 days, 90 days, 6 months or maybe the policy is no return on belts. Basically being accused of buying the belt and attempting to return the belt for a refund is akin to stealing. That is also how I took it and it pissed me off. The manager should stick to policy and not accusations
BTW I also bought a air filter for a 2003 F250 7.3L truck, likely around the same time. That filter continuously popped my clog sensor. I had to put the old filter back in the truck until I purchased an OEM from ford. My dirty filter was better than Autozone's $73 knock-off.
Autozone should stick to policy if there are time limits on returns. It is absolutely stupid to accuse the customer of what they "might" have done that could void a return.
Basically, the manager accused me if stealing. Thats what I am pissed about. Im not saying I will never return to Autozone, however, at least for the time being they will be the last on my to do list since I am now a presumptive thief.

This Auto Zone in Suisun, Ca on Sunset Ave by far has the best customer service ever. Roy The gentleman that assisted me with replacing a bulb in my vehicle made sure I had the correct bulb. He took out the old one installed the new bulb effortlessly and with a smile. I offered to tip him he said absolutely not I was amazed. AutoZone is a winner for me.
