I thought this veterinary dermatologist was good at what they do but unfortunately the miscommunication with them ruined my trust in this office(Westlake and their Studio City office). My pet has extreme allergies that cause her extreme discomfort everyday and they provided her with medications that save her from suffering with bloody chewed up paws and ear complications. So when they first saw her they dealt with my mother as I was on my honeymoon and that was the first mistake we could have made.. they had my mothers information at first and the second visit I was able to see them. When the appointment was over I stood face to face with them and asked them to change the information to mine and they claimed that was done. The second round of medication came out with the incorrect information again. So clearly the changes I personally asked them to correct were NOT done. This ended up causing miscommunication and left ME the actual owner completely unable to receive phone calls about anything to do with MY pet. So when I called and found out about a “missed” consultation I was sincerely confused and disappointed that they were blaming me for their mistake. They were unkind and unapologetic for their mistake and I felt attacked for something that I had no control over. When I expressed this concern I received hostile care from Cynthia who aggressively said that this was all on me and she was personally the one who would have been in charge of changing this information… making it clear that she did not do her part. I am not comfortable seeing this vet anymore due to the complete lack of empathy and responsibility for their fault in this confusion. I told them of my discomfort and I received condescending attitude from the person I spoke to and they gave no sympathy for this situation. They also continued to charge me for THEIR mistake. So I was told if I ever came back they would hold me to that charge for their inability to make a very simple correction to my file.. They are unapologetic and if anything ever goes wrong it’s obvious that they will blame the patient instead of accepting that they played a part in whatever problem you may have with them. When a patient asks you to change the information I don’t understand how complicated it is to make the few changes in their system so they can contact and speak to the actual owner. The fact that my mom took my pet the first time is not a reason to blame me for their incompetence. Please be very vigilant about what you tell this office so they don’t blame you for a mistake they make. This office chooses money over care and respect for their patients.

So I was told if I ever came back they would hold me to that charge for their inability to make a very simple correction to my file.. They are unapologetic and if anything ever goes wrong it's obvious that they will blame the patient instead of accepting that they played a part in whatever problem you may have with them. When a patient asks you to change the information I don't understand how complicated it is to make the few changes in their system so they can contact and speak to the actual owner. The fact that my mom took my pet the first time is not a reason to blame me for their incompetence. Please be very vigilant about what you tell this office so they don't blame you for a mistake they make. This office chooses money over care and respect for their patients. When you are dealing with a concerned/scared pet owner I find it shocking that you'd treat them with such arrogance. The reviews appear to be great but if something goes wrong they handle it very unprofessionally. Be kind, be understanding, be reasonable. Listen, and care..... it's not hard. I called a different vet minutes after speaking to Cynthia and that veterinary office took me in without a second thought and gave me the kindness I hoped to receive from Dr Werner's office, but didn't. I immediately called Werner's office back to inform them I won't pay for their mistake and again received anything but respect and genuine support. I was left in awe and disappointment. They made it clear that they don't care about me or my pet..... mistakes happen, but handling it the way they did made me refuse to accept that kind of treatment. If it had been a mistake on my part that I could have controlled I would have accepted it, but this mistake was absolutely not in my control. How could I have done anything more to have prevented this? I gave the correct info for my file IN PERSON. Who knows why they chose to ignore me when I spoke to them, but it lost me and my pet(and any future pets) as their patients for life.

Really upset with Cindy (office manager) who couldn't understand there is a pandemic going on in the world and I had to cancel my appointment the first time when the pandemic started and then when I actually got covid and was sick in bed. Thanks to her lack of understanding and her choice to "do her job," I am no longer able to schedule a visit unless I pay a discounted rate for a no show, and my pet will continue to suffer from allergies. Thank you Cindy. Hope you can rest on that!!!!!

Dr. Werner is simply easy to talk with. All my three senior pets are under his care. He was able to keep their ear infection in control when it was not possible under primary care. He has profound patience and interacts well with my pekes. I appreciate the written discharge instructions which I receive after each visit.

I have to go there pretty often with my dog for his allergys. Great doctor, terrific girls at the front desk. The girls are great with questions about the meds, they all are up to date with all the new meds. They get you in when you have to be seen on short notice.
