Petco
12800 Ventura Blvd, Studio CityI go to Petco A LOT and I have been for years. I've always been met with smiles and greetings at the front but a couple of weeks ago stood out to me and I had to write a review. A Petco employee was standing near the cat adoption wall kennels and petting a cat through the holes in the plastic cage. As I walked in he greeted me with a friendly, warm demeanor and said "Welcome to Petco! I'm Tanner and this guy is my son Sprite (referring to the cat)." It gave me a giggle and I stopped to say hello to the sweet, very affectionate cat this young man was referring to. Indeed, the cat was ADORABLE and it was clear Tanner loved animals -- and especially this cat. He asked if there was anything he could help me with and I had a bunch of questions as I had just rescued a dog. Tanner was knowledgeable about the products, had great ideas and was very attentive and kind as I made my way through the store and he pointed out various items and answered my questions about food, etc.. When I was leaving I told him that he should adopt that cat because the cat obviously adores him and vice versa. He told me how much he loves animals and loves his job -- and I thought to myself "this young man is exactly the kind of person who excels at his job because he is truly passionate about it." He made my visit to a store I regularly visit, a standout experience that made me feel happy. What more can you ask for when heading to a local store? It beats the heck out of online shopping any day of the week to have not just a pleasant experience, but a fun one. These kinds of young people in the world give me great hope for the future.

Pet Grooming
Stylin Doggy
12854 Landale St, Studio CityAfter being inconvenienced by a different groomer (Marks), I am so relieved to have found Dawn at Stylin. She not only was so pleasant but great at her job. The two pups got nails done and an oral rinse. I feel like a better mum! I'll definitely use her again. You should too! Both the pups and I were comfortable with Dawn. Thx dawn!

Sung's Grooming Studio
11644 Ventura Blvd B, Studio CityWe just moved to the valley and have really struggled to find a new groomer for our Australian shepherd, nylo. Nylo requires a gentle hand and someone kind/patient. When he was little, he had a poor experience at a groomers that left him injured so I am very cautious with who I bring him to. He's very nervous when being left at any groomers as I'm sure he remembers the experience he had, so he does get a bit anxious. It was our first experience here at Sung's grooming studio and so far, we feel good about her! Her demeanor at drop off was gentle and sweet, so I felt comfortable leaving him there. It will probably take a few visits for him to feel more comfortable, but I can tell she's patient and understanding of his previous experience. She did a wonderful job on him. He's a very active dog for the most part so she did have to work out some of his tangles and knots, which we definitely appreciate. Keeping up with his thick fur is always hard work (especially for us) so when it comes to groomers, I pay attention to detail. His fur felt the "lightest" I've felt it in SO long so now I'm questioning the effort of any groomer we had before. We will definitely be back!

Dog Hotel, Cat Hotel Pet Resort FDG
11633 Kling St, Studio CityThis place is absolutely incredible! Nr 1 Top place in LA! My cat is in a safe place where they keep a conversation with me about everything I need to know. They treat the dogs and cats with the highest care. They are in excellent hands. It's hard and scary to find a place where you trust them with your babies. But this is the best place you'll ever find. So thankful for Cookie and her husband. If there was a 10 star I would give them that and more! I'm so so so thankful for them. Don't hesitate because you won't find a better place. Highly recommend.

LA’s Dog Trainer
12442 Moorpark St, Studio CityJacqueline is an awesome trainer and her programs are so much fun for both dogs and their humans. Leia has taken Beginning and Intermediate Obedience in the park and Leia and Chewie have both gone to Puppy Socials at the studio. We are currently working on taking the CGC - Canine Good Citizen test for Leia. I like the option of lessoning in the park where there are more distractions for the dogs. It's also nice that the dogs can mingle before or after class (I've been to another trainer where all the dogs were petitioned off and cannot see one another). Her class is easy to follow and I love how at the start of each class, she asks how everything is going and if there's something specific that people need help with. If there is, then we'll start with that, if not, then we do a quick review and start to learn something new. Time goes by in her classes because we are all having fun!If you have a dog that is not ready to be with a group of dogs, you can still attend! She'll have you and your dog be further away from the group so you can still see/learn. I have seen my friend's dog, Max, go from a dog that just barks the entire time in the parking lot to a trained puppy in the main group! Her methods work and they work right away, but you do have to keep practicing with your four-legged friend. You can't expect to go to her classes once a week and have your dog trained. At Puppy Socials at the studio, there are two groups, one for small dogs and one for bigger dogs. She and her assistant will monitor the dogs and make sure that they are not being too aggressive or teach the shy puppies how to make their way out to shine (and they do after taking a couple of Puppy Social sessions!). You can also session private socials with just a couple dogs in the studio.Jacqueline loves animals and has extensive knowledge of them. She always puts the animal first. She has degrees in Exotic Animal Training, Animal Behavior Management, Wildlife Education & Sociology. She's very flexible with scheduling and will help make timing work for her clients.I highly recommend Jacqueline and LA Dog's Trainer to everyone!

Favorite Pet Sitters Los Angeles
11054 Ventura Blvd #231, Studio CityHiring our first dog walker was nerve wrecking. At the time, my fiancé and I were both night shift workers and had strange schedules: we worked weekdays, weekends, and holidays. I worried about finding someone that could accommodate our strange schedule. When we reached out to Arzu, she was able to do it all for us. My work day (or night, what have you) always got a little brighter whenever I would receive a text update from Arzu. She sends us the cutest pictures of our dog, Casper. He absolutely loves her. Arzu has been with us through our different shift changes (from night shift, to day shift, to now working a regular 9-5 a week) and she's become almost like a member of the family. She has a flexible schedule and she is very reliable. There have been many times that she's been able to take care of our dog on short notice and emergencies. We are extremely grateful to her and can't thank her enough!

DR Doghouse Bully Crew Rescue
11054 Ventura Blvd, Studio CityBy far one of the most compassionate rescue I have ever encountered. At my lowest point I needed the most help. My little girl got gravely ill and paralyzed. Most of the vets I visited weren't invested. When I contacted Robin she immediately started making calls and appointments to get my baby seen. She went over and above, helped with transport, helped with costs and checked in on us throughout the whole process even being there when my dog passed. I wish more people in rescue had this compassion. It's rare to meet people that actually care about your animal and I'm so grateful for the support and advice received. True rescue heros in every sense. Thank you from me and my baby girl in heaven.
