Disgraceful treatment, Went by ambulance for antibiotic side effect of neuropathy, horrible pain. They treated me like a drug seeking addict. I'm a 68 yr old woman n have no history of any drugs, They made me sit on a chair as I beg for a stool or something to extend my legs to help with pain, I was told , you see these. ppl , well the chairs are for them, In desperation I rolled myself off the chair to sit on floor to extend my legs, along came security n got told to sit in my chair or they would put me out, I said out to where? They said out the door. I needed him to help me due to pain, Finally a Dr or nurse came to give what he said was a pain shot, I ask for name of drug due to side effects, I read it was n antipsychotic? What why ? He lied to me, the other shot was Benadryl, I believe they attempted to shut me up. Oh they gave tylonal n ibuprofen , hardly touched the pain I was in, , I called my daughter to pick me up, I had pain bad, took a few days to go away , I can't believe this happened to me. Like a nightmare. How can an emergency room treat me that my way? What can I do?

My husband has got the best care here. He has had several procedures and had to stay a couple days each time. Attention and support are amazing. We had a direct admit at night. Melbra did the registration at the patient center and she was so nice!!

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Every experience I've had with St Joes has been a nightmare. First time visiting their ER writhing in pain from passing a kidney stone- nurse told me to be quiet. My grandmother passed away here in the ICU last year- nurses in this unit were cold and had no empathy. As a nurse myself, I always introduce myself to patient & family & let them know what I will be doing. A random nurse came into my grandmothers room, doesn't say a word, starts messing with the pumps and shuts off her monitor. Delivered my baby here and had clinicals in the L&D unit. Full of mean girls, would make fun of mothers in labor at the nurses station (one nurse said this mother smelled horrible down there). Had a traumatic labor - nurses Alexis Durham and B. McAllister made me feel less than human and like a bother. The nurse that started my IV started it with no gloves. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU CAN.

Jason, the night-time shift Front ER security guard for St. Joseph Emergency Room on January 16, 2024. I must say, that Jason left a lasting impression on me with his exceptional kindness and compassionate nature. As I sat in the waiting room, I had the opportunity to observe him in action, and I was truly amazed by his unwavering kindness towards every single person, regardless of their background or circumstances. It was evident that he genuinely cared about the well-being of others and went above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and supported. His actions were truly remarkable and a testament to his great heart. The ER experience for my mother, unfortunately, was quite different. It was a rather disappointing one-star experience. Inside to be treated, was overcrowded, leaving us feeling cramped and uncomfortable, much like sardines in a can. Additionally, the lack of privacy was a significant concern. It seemed that there were minimal efforts made to provide patients with a sense of confidentiality and personal space. These aspects of the experience were quite disheartening and did not meet our expectations.

We had the unfortunate experience of taking my Mom to St. Joseph's for congestive heart failure. 1/12 was the 5th visit to the ER! She arrived by ambulance and left in a hallway from 10am to about 11pm when they finally got her to a room. Due to the fact they don't allow any visitors if patients don't have a room meant she was left all alone. The four previous times we brought her the discharged her and said to follow up with her doctor despite the shortness of breath she continued to have. Yesterday she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Spoke to two nurses, Melissa and Denise, both telling me how busy they are when I continued to ask why she has been in a hallway for so long. Please, do not take your family members here. Working in Healthcare I can't imagine treating patients this way. I will say visit #4 we were helped by a nurse named Alexa who was beyond amazing, but the CEO needs to step it up in the ER dept and see how things run and would he want his family to be treated so poorly.

My friend spent over 70 days at St. Joseph Medical Center, including 30+ days in the ICU. Despite some less-than-stellar experiences with a few staff members, the majority were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and kind. I believe treating people with respect goes a long way, and the caring nature of most staff members truly stood out. While acknowledging the challenges healthcare workers face, I appreciate the respect and care shown, especially by Brandi in the ICU. Although I hope not to return, I feel confident about being in good hands if the need arises. Thank you, St. Joseph Medical Center.

My husband was a patient at St Josephs recently. He was critically ill with respiratory failure. The nurses and the Resp. Therapists in the ER, the Cardiac ICU and the Respiratory ICU were very professional and caring. The doctors and especially the interns were very good about keeping me informed about my husband's condition, even calling me at home. Unfortunately he was not improving even with all the ventilator changes and tests and procedures .His lungs were too damaged and after being intubated for 3 weeks he pulled out the tube himself. The option of letting him die with comfort care , giving him pain meds and other drugs to calm him and with his family at his bedside was given to us way before he pulled out the tube His last day he was in so much distress and I asked him do you want that oxygen off and then for them to give you morphine and then die, he nodded yes. Hearing that broke my heart and I asked him if he was suffering he nodded yes and I didn't want him to suffer. So they transfered him to another quiet room without all the alarms and gave him the drugs and his family sat with him till he took his last breath. This was a very sad and heart breaking end but he went peacefully and he was not alone. All the staff were very respectful and empathetic .They were all great. And Crystal Thomas RN and Dr Fong of the palliative care team were so helpful to me, Dr Fong said "You don't want him to die alone." That little statement alone made it easier to deal with my husbands death.

Please don't go there. I am a health care provider, I can tell you that this is not the place for your loved ones. I took my wife at the ER, for seizures. The nurse (Palvika Kumar) at registration kept rushing my wife, even though while she was seizing. When I asked to slow down, she rolled her eyes, looked at other staff and said we have time limits to do our tasks. She was moving my wife so fast and was very ruthless. My wife could not handle the stress. It took them 2 hours to send the doctor to check my wife. The urine sample stayed there for 3 hours. My wife was seizing every 5-9 minutes. After losing my patience after 5 hours, I asked the nurse coz the seizures were increasing, guess what the nurse (Melissa) said, "Sir, your wife is not dying, her vitals are normal" I asked if she is waiting for dying situation to occur, she said, yes if that happens we have all the equipment to take an action. She said it in front of my wife who is seizing!! These two nurses do not deserve to be in the health care. We eventually requested to be discharged. While discharging, the Nurse (Melissa) acknowledged that my wife was having seizures. The urine sample is still sitting there. We left!

Mom my was taken to this hospital from the assisted living center that she had only been at for 2 days. They informed me that mom had coded 3 times before they were able to stabilize her and I got the dreaded call from the doctor of ICU letting me know. The doctor was very kind, letting me know all the details. I kind of knew what my next decision but wanted to think about it and call my moms last remaining sister. When I arrived at the hospital, I was soon escorted to ICU to see my mom hooked up to several IV's and a ventilator. I was also greeted by two of the KINDEST nurses and a doctor. They told me what the IV's were for along with the ventilator. They set me up with a very comfortable chair, blankets, snacks, coffee and water. I texted a pic to my aunt and we both decided that this was not what mom would have wanted and decided to have her removed. We received so much support from the from the doctor who agreed that we were making a good decision. After they removed all IV's, they told me to take my time with mom and when I was ready, they would remove the ventilator. I said my goodbyes and told her it was okay to go. She fought her disease but now it was time to go home to Jesus. She passed away soon after. The nurses hugged me and one even cried with me. This has to be one of the most caring hospitals around. I can't thank them enough.

I had the privilege of visiting St. Joseph Hospital recently, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by their exceptional security measures. From the moment I entered the premises, I felt a reassuring sense of safety and protection that truly sets this hospital apart. The security personnel at St. Joseph Hospital are not only highly trained but also incredibly welcoming. Their warm smiles and courteous demeanor immediately put me at ease, creating a welcoming atmosphere that's essential in any healthcare facility. Throughout my visit, I noticed their vigilant presence in various areas of the hospital, ensuring that every patient, visitor, and staff member felt secure. Their commitment to maintaining a safe environment is truly commendable. In addition to their physical presence, I was also impressed by the hospital's advanced security systems. State-of-the-art surveillance cameras and access control measures are in place to monitor and safeguard the entire facility. Knowing that such cutting-edge technology is in operation adds an extra layer of confidence. St. Joseph Hospital's dedication to security not only reflects their commitment to the well-being of their patients but also sets a gold standard for healthcare facilities everywhere. I left the hospital with a profound sense of gratitude for their unwavering commitment to safety, and I highly recommend St. Joseph Hospital to anyone seeking top-notch healthcare in a secure and welcoming environment.

I underwent a mini procedure that was carried out in an incredibly inhuman manner by Dr. Moreno. It felt like a scene from a horror movie. Despite my screams, tears, and the aggressive bruising I endured during the procedure, the medical center refused to acknowledge the extent of my suffering. So, I'm sharing this heartfelt comment as a warning to anyone considering seeking treatment at this hospital: please reconsider. Medical professionals should treat their patients with the utmost kindness and respect, recognizing their humanity. It's disheartening when the focus shifts from patient care to financial gains. We deserve better, and I implore you to seek medical care elsewhere, where your well-being and dignity are truly valued.
