This lovely bed and breakfast has been in Marin since the 1800's and was originally owned by a sea captain. It has an old fashioned flair and has old fashioned European style rooms and beautiful sculpted gardens. It has a back patio and has Ample room for guests to enjoy be breakfast free. Please visit Stinson Beach and check this lovely diamond in the rough bed and breakfast

We had an interesting experience at the Redwood Haus. The outside space was very eclectic and the host was very friendly over the phone. The inside space was outdated, messy and unkempt. Our room was advertised as a balcony room with an ocean view, but there were spiders at the entrance to the patio. I question the safety of the emergency fire ladder. My boyfriend got caught in a 90 minute conversation with the owners who lacked professional boundaries. The hotel is in a great location, but certainly not worth the money for what you’re getting in my opinion.Rooms: Like staying in your great uncles house in one of their spare bedrooms.Nearby activities: Beach walk, ice cream, good food and drinksWalkability: Good walkability to small shopping area/ food

Avoid this place. The entire place smells musty and moldy. The downstairs is very dark, dirty, and cluttered. To get to the room you have to climb 2 staircases which have old dirty and stained carpet and are very steep. The stairs are small and the hallway they are located in is extremely narrow. The shared bathroom (we were not aware it was a shared bathroom) is at the top of the first staircase. There is no light on the staircase so a trip to the bathroom at night would be in the dark. Everyone we saw while there looked sketchy. As some other reviews have mentioned many building and fire code violations. Really not sure how this place is allowed to rent rooms. We checked in, looked around and left to find other accommodations. The only saving grace this place has is when we returned to tell them we would not be staying and would like a refund it was no problem and no questions asked. She refunded my card immediately. It seemed apparent this was not the first time this happened.

We stayed in the crows nest, needed a room for two nights with our pup. It was very cluttered and needed a good cleaning, very nice view though. Appreciated the kindness of the hosts but unfortunately it was to messy and the lower floor bathroom was disgusting, and smelled of urine!! It could be a very nice place if it was cleaned and organized, just to much clutter, inside and out!!!! To each thr own but I would never stay thr again.

The photos and description of this place are not even remotely close to what it actually is. The entire place smells musty and moldy. It's dark, dusty, and quite honestly unsanitary. Our room was on the top floor, which was up 2 flights of steep, narrow, dark stairs with filthy, stained carpet. We were informed the bathroom was at the top of the first set of stairs and was shared with a permanent tenant. This was the first time it was disclosed we had a shared bathroom. The room itself smelled, was cluttered and dusty. There were 2 bath towels on the foot of the bed. They looked old and worn. The thought of sleeping there made my skin crawl. There were sketchy men roaming around the house and yard. The only saving grace this place had was when I told the owner we would not be staying there and wanted a refund there were no questions asked and she refunded my card immediately. It seemed from her reaction when I asked for a refund that this was not the first time it had happened. Bottom line avoid this place at all costs.

Very UnAmerican establishment. Has horrible views on our country. People are rude and hateful. If you love your country I wouldn't support this place.

I made a reservation online and when I called the day prior to confirm the lady who answered the phone rudely laughed and said “if we didn’t take your credit card then you don’t have a reservation…we’re sold out.”

1/5 Stars - Not safe. The Stinson Beach Redwood Haus is a private residence that is a hoarder’s nest for the owner / operators. The steps, ceiling, & whole home is a far far cry from ADA compliant. I hurt my toe here and it will take about 18 months to heal. The price is extremely high. There is no breakfast included. The attitude of the home owners is passable, but not particularly welcoming. The beds are not comfortable. I would recommend any alternative.
