Shell Gas has historically been the expensive gas in my neighborhood and one we only visited if we were running on fumes. So was the case one day when I had the fortunate happenstance to meet Joel, the station manager. That day was T-Mobile Tuesday's, when members can get an additional 10 cents discount on each gallon of gas. I could've sworn I added the discount to my Rewards card but I hadn't. Joel patiently talked me through the process but UGH! The network connection wasn't cooperating. He was SO polite as he gave me different options to try to connect. I actually stepped outside to see if that would help and Joel was kind enough to keep me company and made pleasant conversation with me. When do you get that kind of customer service at a gas station? In the end, the network wouldn't connect and I took up the issue with T-Mobile later that night, but Joel made a frustrating experience much easier to deal with. Thanks Joel! And bonus... he sells Faygo pop, which was created and is still bottled in Detroit, Michigan, my hometown!
