John at Border Parts does business the old fashioned way. He always has treated me like I’m important and he is a walking encyclopedia of Jeep parts. I started trading there in 1975. Very little has changed.

Best drive train shop in San Diego with knowledge unbeatable ! Shop has been in business for 50+ years and there is a reason why ..... unmatched price and unbeatable quality go to border parts of all your off-road ,Hotrod and drivetrain parts !!!! If they charged double of what they charged me I'd still pay for it .... Customer service is 10000x better then any shop or parts store

EXCELLENT GREAT AMAZING John and Pete must be 2 of the most knowledgeable people there are in the parts business. .Had spent 4 days, and many many hours looking for a diesel fuel filter element for a 1973 USN 5 KW Generator with a White, 4 cylinder diesel engine. Getting really frustrated !!! Then I thought of John and Pete. When I showed them the fuel filter case which I had NO NUMBERS for, John immediately said OIL FILTER SERVICE. Boy was he RIGHT !!! Within an hour hour I was back to show them my new filter element from OIL FILTER SERVICE !!! Not only is Border Parts the best starting point for parts, they are also the best source of knowledge in the parts game. If they do not have it they know where to get it !!!!The ABSOLUTE BEST place to start in any search for parts. !!!!Not sure how they do it but THEY DO IT !!!!Thank you Border Parts for being the REAL parts business you are !!!

Place looks like a old junk yard.. but if u have a odd part or a part that has been discontinued, this is the place to go.. might even find goodies u didn't know u need! Place is a treasure...

John is amazing you can ask him for some obscure part and if he has it he'll find it. It could be burried deep in some sea container for years and he'll know exactly where it is without checking a computer or anything. Oh and cant forget the popcorn maker in the lobby!

BorderParts is the best. John is a huge resource for Vintage/older jeeps. He’s helped me with a ‘55 CJ5, a ‘47 CJ2a, and now another CJ5 (this time a 1963). Sometimes you have to be patient with the hard to find stuff, but they always come through. (The normal stuff is always in stock or quick to get) Like others have said, no parking(Just park wherever...lol), not much of a lobby, but folks are ways friendly and real.

John and the team are great. Since my first jeep they have provided great service and will always come back for more parts. When the next jeep project starts, I know I will get my a** in gear with Border Parts.
