I have known about this auto shop for decades. They've been open and successful now for 20 years and STILL going STRONG! I have known the owner since we were kids in Catholic School. David Sarchet is one helluva stand up guy. Ask ANYONE. I keep pronouncing his name like he's French though. He always forgives me despite. Lol What a great guy! I've been butchering his name for over 30 years. lol
It's good to see he's doing well. I have known his wife Maria too since we met when I was a KJ [Karaoke Jockey, the DJ's harder working, lesser paid cousin. Specialization: harmonizing with and canceling out tone deafness] at Newell's Bar AKA Forty's Bar down San Mateo Avenue in downtown San Bruno a mile or so down the street from the shop. My husband now works there as the electrical engineer tech guy. He is just happy yo be part of an awesome team and learn from thr master.
David can tune a carburateur like a Luthier tunes a ? BY EAR?alone! That is not ONLY a skill, but a TALENT! That's how good the man is at HIS craft. Everyone from our small town knows the name Uptown as the MOST reputable and famous shop in town. If you need it done right, you come here.

Great service and exceptional workmanship. Dave restores my 1966 Fastback's AC, he put in a new intake and carb, headers and disc brakes and she's never looked or run better. These guys are pros and it shows in their quality work!

I got ripped off I got a new engine in my nova paid over 20.000 the car would not stay started all the suspension bushings were cracked and broken the carburetor was not tuned at all the car wouldn't stay idle..all the wiring was a fire Hazzard. Had my car for to years and came back with scratchesAnd battery acid on it ...my viper alarm was stolen..and never replaced...this guy is a smuck....I'm filing a law suite against him he did not give me any kind of paper work on the engine ...and had it towed to my house in Antioch CA. Do not go to this sho...and to track him down its a big run around

I moved from San Jose to the San Bruno area and after many years of going to the same mechanic, my relocation required me to find a new one in my area. I located Uptown Automotive through my insurance company and let me tell you, they are amazing! They really go above and beyond to make sure they take care of you and your car. I take many trips and they always make sure my vehicle is in tip top shape for my travels. I would highly recommend them.

Dave is an amazing person who takes the time out to get to know his customers needs and wants to assist in complete their dream car. Tony and Chris are the muscle of Uptown, their abilities to inspect each vehicle in detail providing each vehicle with a precise diagnosis not only incredible but extremely time efficient making sure no customer is left biting their nails in anticipation... This review is long over due. Dave is a very good and very honest mechanic. You can trust these guys 100%. I have brought my truck and wife's car here several times. It's the only place I will bring them. He has saved me a bunch of money by being good at what he does. Cannot recommend uptown auto enough!

Dave and the crew helped me out with what I needed done with my car. Dave made sure all are taken care off. I found some new scratches on my car after I got home. I was gonna call Dave but I have a touch up paint at home so it hurts but it's a done deal and I touched up the area. The crew are hard workers and dedicated to the work they do and are fast to respond if there are any discrepancies.

This place may have been the worst place I could have Brought my classic car it was there for 3 months they dented my Chrome And scratch to my Paint they didn't gap my plugs correctly they put a water hose instead of a high pressure hose for fuel injection I came in with a full tank of gas my car was empty when I picked it up. And when I picked it up it wouldn't drive for 2 blocks without cutting out I brought it right back and it wouldn't even start up We had to push it in the garage The owner overcharged me I'll never go there again I had it up and running the next day from another shop what a rip off.

Dave is the BEST. FR FR. If it wasn't for me moving to Florida, I'd have him finish up my cadi. Any work you need. Even CUSTOM WORK. He's the man. Go to him before anyone else. REAL TALK FOLKS. Especially for an old School smog check. RESPECT TO MY GUYS @ UptownServices: Carburetor cleaning

These are good people but their air conditioning service work is not good. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for AC service. Got work done elsewhere for less than third of their charges.
