Have been going here since I was little when it was still pack and save, I’ve always known everything to be good up until a few months ago. Every time I go now I have to check expiration dates because I have left multiple times with spoiled items, expiration dates from six months ago or rotten food in sealed packages. The people are still nice, and I have reported it multiple times, but still keep finding expired foods on shelves. Please be careful and check your groceries before you pay or if someone shops for you have them check everything first!!

Very large store with well stocked shelves & organic products. Very clean! Staff are very helpful. Pretty flowers are always fresh.

Nice place. Clean. Lots of parking. Workers are very gentle and competent. Nice self checkout area. They can improve the products quality in the deli section.

If Safeway (Gellert SSF) claims it is a friendly neighborhood supermarket, then this woman african-american at the self-checkout assistance counter must be the stray black sheep in its team. She is often surly, but for the longest time I haven't let that bother me. Until today, when I very politely asked for assistance after she was done assisting the one customer next to me, and then she barked and told me sharply to wait. Everyone within earshot stared. I will just say I was 'demoralized' for lack of a more fitting word, but I chose not to snap back because my sense of decency is bigger than my pride. Safeway is one of the major players in the enforcement of decent living standard in our community, but my personal sense of respectability as a consumer who spends good money from hard honest labor, is not SAFE in the hands of this one particular employee. It was traumatizing experience.

I visit this location specifically for the Goodwill donation center, for it is a Safeway that is easy to pop into and out of. good parking in the shade though I do believe sometimes there is overflow parking from the Westborough Square situation one block south.

To the store person/people who packed our food, I hope you feel special for providing the gift of rotten produce slime stank on the non spoiled items you decided to include and not ruin. Thank you so much for smashing the kids delli lunch, then removing it from the order after being called out by door dash, and not being capable of taking 45 seconds to replace it or let me know. I thoroughly enjoyed having to request a refund after hearing the delivery driver's super fun story. It totally makes sense to me now why you couldn't figure out what you might replace one type of out of stock lemon with. Cool. What a convenient, paid for service. ??
After smashing my groceries twice, and sending multiple orders including rotting food, I will avoid this location and probably never order delivery from the safeway app again because I can only order from this location (.... and it's stupid that the app uses a store that far when there are 3 in town). Talk about a complete lack of respect, people.....

this is my experience from saturday july 20, 2024
I wish that I could give this Safeway negative stars, Myra, please forgive me if I am spelling their name incorrect , (My-ruh) who is a staff here at this Safeway is one of the RUDEST people I have interacted with. They made me feel racially attacked due to being Mexican, and made the atmosphere of this Safeway extremely hostile. I never thought of all places I would be racially profiled at Safeway, please be aware and beware of this attitude this employee has! Again, this employees name is Myra and they are extremely rude , and they made my experience terrible! I really hope Safeway does something about this behavior, and doesn't let racially biased individuals continue to make the Safeway experience as terrible as mine was, it's sad to think Safeway will do nothing about this incident , I called and complained but I'm sure nothing will happen as I am saddened reading so many negative reviews involving Myra. Sad to see Safeway does nothing about rude employees as it doesn't fit the narrative they give us, consumers, that they are a friendly welcoming place.

After they mixed up delivery items I never get another delivery again! Am I getting blame for their mixing up delivery items?
Another time this Spanish woman ran ahead of me. I didn't even contest but they told me to go to the end of the line. I told them I was actually the first one there. After that, I noticed that I have not assigned delivery again? Why the Spanish lie and I get punish again?

This lady called me from the delivery department and asked if I still wanted my order to confirm that I didn’t want it so it can be put back……. I said no and hung up. THEN I thought YOU MEAN the order that was supposed to be delivered to me at 6pm yesterday has been sitting out ??? And your telling me your jsut now going to put it back in the cooling units the next day at 10am???? Just a warning for you guys. They put delivery orders back on the shelves nearly a day later if it wasn’t delivered……AND MY WIFE IS PREGNANT! Trying to bring us left out meat…. Thank god we didn’t want the order

They always have what I'm looking for and then they always have the things I forget to put on the list. I have been going to that store for over 30 years and the other Safeway for over 50 years. Keep it up Safeway!

Thanks to Angelica for the help out to the car. She was very nice and helpful. I just had surgery and lifting is a big issue along with trying to get the cart through the lot. I could see the store was very busy so having the option for the cart is greatly appreciated.
