Friends to Parents was an awesome and great place for our son. We are sad to see him leave for Kindergarten. All of the teachers were very compassionate and loving. They made a bid difference in our child's life. He really opened up socially and made lots of friends. I highly recommend Friends to Parents.

It's been close to 6 months since my child started here and it's been a wonderful experience so far. The ratio of caregivers to children, affordable price (relatively), spacious indoor and outdoor play areas, spacious room for mealtime and sleep, food included/served, timings suited for working parents and the long tenured teachers/caregivers here are what sold me on this place. The facility is a bit dated and could do with a cosmetic makeover but everything else trumps this one aspect. The teachers here are very patient, friendly, engaged and nurturing and am really touched by some of the gestures - helping my 2 year old make a birthday card for me (personalized with pics of her making it!), Saving some snacks and food she enjoyed so she could have it later, really paying attention to my child's needs and preferences.I sometimes wish there was a way to see more photos or videos of her playing or interacting in the room, but Id rather have them pay full attention to the kids than spend their time logging/recording things so I totally understand the policy on that.Overall, really happy with this center and the staff! Huge shout-out to Room 2 - Ms Sahar, Ms Lydia, Ms Rochelle and Ms Ferial - thank you for everything you do!

Do not take your kids to this school. They will yell and yank on them then try to treat them with kindness so they don't make the parents aware. Administration knows of the abuse but won't do anything to change it and continue to employ caretakers who allow it to happen.

We love Friends to Parents ("FtP"). We took our kids there for six years with the youngest starting at four months old. From beginning to end, they treated our whole family with kindness and care. Merla, the director, is amazing and their whole staff are great. Some notable impressions:- It's located on an old elementary school campus. The classrooms have plenty of light and there is a lot of room outdoors to play. It felt like a real school, so when our kids started actual elementary school the transition was very easy.- Compared to other options used by our friends around the peninsula, they were reasonably priced for what was offered. Likewise, FtP offered better holiday care coverage relative to our peers, so we seldom had to scramble for alternate care.- The curriculum offered a good balance of play and enrichment. We had periodic conferences with the staff where they reported on the progress of our children. Both of our children were well prepared for kindergarten after leaving FtP.- We appreciated the diversity of the staff and the children. We feel that our kids were enriched by being surrounded by all different kinds of people. We are grateful for Friends to Parents. As a family trying to make it in the Bay Area, we couldn't have done it without them!

Love this day care. We like to say it's run by a very loving bunch of tough grandma's. (No not all of them are Grandma's) The truth is it's a very long running well run, non-profit. The daycare ladies get to know each of the kids... Let me backup. The location is an old repurposed elementary school. They take kids as young as 3-6 months and up to just before kindergarten. The hours are great for working parents. 730am-6pm. The kids are grouped by age, and each age group has 2 indoor classrooms and they share playground space. The classes surround 2 very large connected open courtyards that are gated. The kids are very safe. Multiple ladies are watching the children at any point. The policies they have in place are very strict about making sure the ladies keep track of the children at all times. Both our kids have gone here and we are grateful they had such a loving group of people to help teach them so much in preschool. They partner with us in making sure the kids are getting what they need. Potty training, etc. The graduation ceremonies are very unexpectedly touching.

FTP is a great center. They had my kids from 4 mo on. Nice community of parents, and many loving long time teachers who take great pride in helping the kids develop and grow. Food is taken care of by their staff in their on site kitchen. They do family events throughout the year. They are open M-F 6-6 on all but a few holidays, so great for working parents.

my son just graduated from this school and had a great time. he has attended this preschool for the last 3 years or so. i highly recommend this school. it starts with the excellent principal, Ms. Merla, who sets the tone and is an amazing woman. all of the teachers follow suit and are very loving, caring, happy, and engaged. best teacher there i have to give to: Ms. Juliette room 12, but she is the supervisor so probably has the most experience. all of the other teachers are great and are well on there way to Ms. Juliette status. my son has thrived there. every time i would pick him up from school he would be talkative and energized. they let parents stop by and visit during the day to get a first hand look at what their child goes through in a day. i was very comforted to find out that they always offer the kids seconds during breakfast, snack, and lunch times. tons and tons of arts & crafts projects and activities: songs, games, story time, outdoor play including water play, jungle gym, bikes, balls play. my son has been ready for kindergarten for maybe 6 months to a year now, ahead of schedule, and i can thank this school for that. admin staff, Al, is very polite, personable, helpful, and understanding. discipline is handled swiftly but not violently. the kids are respectful but not afraid of their teachers. my son and his class mates grew very close and became more like family than just friends. new kids are received with warm, accepting arms. about 2 to 3 teachers per 20 kids but ask staff for the actual numbers.if i could give 10 stars, i would. my only regret is that i didn't start my son here as an infant. thank you to all of the staff at friends to parents. it was a great experience and an honor to have shared this part of our lives!!!!David Lopez
