I do NOT recommend California Movers. The movers show up intoxicated and were extremely unprofessional. When I made simple requests, such as to wrap a fragile item, the movers argued with me claiming that is was not necessary. They were very rude, smelled like cigarette smoke and alcohol, and did not treat my property with care. I had to ask the movers to leave, then request for additional movers to complete the move. Moving is stressful by nature and California Movers did NOT make the move any easier.

I recently hired California Movers, a few things that might help you if you decide to do business with them:1. They will ask for 100$ deposit at the beginning. Be aware that this will be reduced from you final payment instead of returning to your credit card. I made a mistake of not reading the final receipt and paid more than I should have and the movers didn't mention it at all.2. Their movers waste a lot of time just to increase the number of hours ( at least that is what happened to me. And at the end they put down fewer hours so they can rip off the company and as a result of that I don't have any proof of what I actually paid. It is just shady all around.3. If you pay with cash it is 20$ cheaper per hour, but if you encounter a problem with them like I did you don't have any proof as to what was actually paid.

Read these reviews carefully and consider the low star reviews closely before you take this kind of risk. This could happen to you and it is not worth it.I’m editing this review. Shortly after the movers left and asked me to write a nice review and sign the paperwork, I started unpacking and realized MAJOR things were missing. My large rug, bed frame, large TV, and full size mirror. In addition to that, I was left with 3 large, heavy boxes that did not belong to me. I immediately called and it took over a week to get someone to pick up the boxes that weren’t mine. I was emailing the manager, Nick, who said I would be reimbursed for my missing items. I sent him web links to the stuff & he said someone from claims would be in touch. That NEVER happened. I emailed them multiple times & never received anything. I ended up spending thousands of dollars replacing the missing items. I wish I did not use a California movers. Storing my stuff for a year ended up being a complete waste of money because I ended up having to pay tons of money to replace everything they lost.This company is negligent with your things and won’t take responsibility when they lose them. I’m so upset I hired them & that I experienced this kind of expense and unfairness. Don’t risk hiring them and experiencing something like I did.

I scheduled a move with them but needed to reschedule. I was told I could not reschedule and that it is company policy to charge the 3 hour minimum even if no work was done. I begged for them to please just reschedule but again they refused. Their policy states you can reschedule for a few of $100…After getting off the phone I got a notice from my bank that this company attempted to charge me $510 in addition to the $100 I put for deposit. The next day my bank notified me again that this company tried to charge $499. This is fraud and absolutely against the law. They shouldn’t be in business.

These guys worked hard, getting everything up multiple flights of stairs. They even got creative when things wouldn't fit.

Super impressed with California Movers. We needed help moving our apartment last minute and Natalie helped me get all set up with just a day notice. Andrew and crew came on time and moved everything so fast. Will definitely recommend!

My friend hired this team's services for a move across the bay from Berkeley to San Francisco. When I arrived to help, the crew was super friendly and worked really fast. They were super eager to put things as close to the final spot as they could to reduce moving for us and also helped us reassemble the bed frame when we arrived. Russ and his team were an absolute dream! We had to book them a week out since we had a last minute injury and needed someone ASAP. We moved from Rohnert park to San Francisco. They were prompt, communicated well, so incredibly friendly and EFFICIENT. They made the move so easy and stress free with a smile on their face even with the abundance of stairs.
