It was one of the worst experiences I've had at an animal hospital. The staff was rude, and very unfriendly, had absolutely ZERO compassion for my kitten's situation, and did not offer any advice or guidance on what to do about my kitten. They made me feel like I was the worst person ever when I brought in my kitten who was dying from FIP. Instead of treating people as if they are horrible people for trying to rescue and save animals, they should try to educate, and offer guidance and resources. Most people who have pets are NOT animal healthcare professionals! I tried to do the best I could rescuing a stray kitten. It would have been helpful if they had offered guidance on what I needed to do to keep them safe and healthy for people who don't really know how to properly take care of a rescue animal. The short story:I brought in two stray kittens to this emergency hospital the day I found them. I was expecting the vet to tell me if there was anything wrong with them. But they just gave them them some meds, and gave me my$800 bill. So I thought that they were not in any grave health condition because of that. One of the kittens didn't look healthy two weeks after that initial emergency vet visit. I had taken my kitten to another vet hospital and he was put on medication for an upper respiratory infection. But then I brought him back again after he still didn't seem to be getting better even with that medication. So then, the vet that's when he was diagnosed with FIP. He was diagnosed just TWO days before bringing him to this emergency hospital and his health declined extremely rapidly to the point where I had to bring him here. The vet told me he was in critical condition, and they were almost reprimanding me for his state. His condition was already too progressed, and by the time I researched treatment (which is not offered by any vet legally), and ordered the meds online and waited another day for them to arrive -- that's when he started giving out and brought him to this emergency hospital. This hospital should have staff that actually help the client try to help their pets instead of just giving animals meds without any proactive guidance of what other treatments or tests they need. Isn't that their job? To be telling us what they need? That's why we bring our pets to hospitals! So they can tell us what they need! They are supposed to be professionals!

Recently had an emergency dog visit & one of the techs Ariana was the most pleasant to work with. I was having a bit of a meltdown over my fur baby & she was the only one who helped calm me down & give me all the best information.

This is another overdue review and it's a must as the staff here has done so much for my pets. The amount of accommodations and bending backwards they have done for me as a pet parent cannot be fully expressed in this review. I had one cat who had a mast cell tumor. This guy was super easy to treat but we were always needing to be seen because he had chronic issues related to his tumor. No matter what, somehow he was accommodated and offered top tier treatment. All of the techs showered him with love at all times (sometimes I got the feeling he wasn't really sick and only wanted to visit his fan base) and the reception staff was nothing short of amazing as well, always making sure my cat's needs were met. We even had a little funeral on his last day at the vet and he was surrounded by the all of the people that knew him and loved him best. Super thankful I was allowed to spend numerous hours with my boy in a room until it was time. A mega shoutout to Dr. Mobley, the best vet VCA could bring onboard - she must be protected at all costs and not permitted to leave. Honorable mention for Dr. Pickell who was my backup vet. To further support why this should be your vet of choice, I have a demon cat - everyone is scared of her (except me). Despite being the menace that she is, they haven't turned us away and still offer the same same level of care they offered my other cat. We tried GABA on her and she had a bad reaction but they will still treat her without sedation - we just make it a group effort so I can help and try to calm her down. No matter how bad my cat behaves, the staff always reassures me it's ok. My cat is super uncooperative so I'm beyond grateful for their understanding and kindness. A shoutout to Dr.Robbins who literally had no fear handling my cat - this is your go to vet if you have a naughty cat like me.I have been to the vet on San Fernando and Access and let me tell you, in an emergency, neither of those two places provided the comfort VCA South Pasadena has provided. For some reason this vet just has more of a "family" vibe to it. Don't come at me with the cost of treatment here. What vet isn't expensive? That's a reality and I can attest to it because I've spent a lot, including at the other two vets mentioned here. Spend your money at a place where you can trust the care and where you will be taken care of as a person, not a walking wallet. My only qualm is that this place used to be 24 hours every day and since COVID that changed. I know the vet industry took a hit and many left the practice. My only request is that this place once again return to being 24 hours for peace of mind (and keep Dr. Mobley no matter her demands ).

I took an injured feral cat in, very old and thin, that I had been feeding. It can’t be touched at all, so any treatment was out of the question and best for the cat was euthanasia. They insisted on an exam, blood work, and X-rays, with an estimate of $1000. I only talked to a vet tech, a vet wouldn’t talk to me. I’m elderly and explained that I could barely afford cat food for the 6 homeless cats I take care of, but they wouldn’t budge. I was a regular client there with my indoor cats, but no more. Clearly all that matters is their fee structure with absolutely no flexibility. No more VCA for me.

It required $1000 deposit to be seen a vet. Extra $2000 to treat in one day plan. Less than two hrs, they ask me to euthanize my cat. I got $120 money back after the euthanasia.

Took my 8-year-old Jack Russell mix, Posey, to see Dr. Little after being recommended by my local Vet. Posey tore her cranial cruciate ligament in her left hind knee while chasing squirrels in the park. Dr. Little and her staff were extremely professional and compassionate. After x-rays she thoroughly explained all the options for Posey's recovery. We went with surgery and had 2-3 post-op visits all included in the price. After about 10-12 weeks of recovery Posey is 100%. I cannot recommend Dr. Little enough!

I have been coming to this vet for 4 years now. During covid was difficult and there were restrictions! We have had pleasant and not so pleasant experiences here. The not so pleasant, happens ( especially during covid )! Today we came in and our needs were met for all three kitties with such perfection, grace, and concern and they did mention the Bad experience we had there, during covid. They complimented a few shots for our kitties and another part of the bill! These guys are the best! Kevin was our Vet tech and a very nice man. All of our kitties loved him . Thank you VCA TLC for taking good care of us today! We will be back again and again.

I made the tough decision to put my dog down after being seen by her vet a couple times they suggested this clinic. The first tech I talked to was very sympatric but then the second one came in and suggested I take me pet home and see her own vet because the TLC services were more expensive. Now I'm not sure she thought that out but telling me to take my dog home in the state she was in and wait for another appointment with its regular vet seems a bit rude.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Dr. Wong and Dr. Barnes for their care of my dog, Maverick (7YO golden retriever). I took him in on a Saturday because I was worried about his airway. Separate from his airway, Dr. Wong found a foxtail in his back leg. He did surgery and removed it. We were back on Tuesday for Dr. Barnes to assess the breathing (by that time I'd taken a video and shared it w the hospital). Dr. Barnes was absolutely super. He explained what he observed and recommended in a very clear and thoughtful way. We went ahead and he performed a rhinoscopy that very day, Tuesday. Dr. Barnes removed an 8" long piece of grass from my dog's nose. I am grateful to all of the staff and doctors at VCA who provided excellent care 2x over one week.

We have had problems with our puppy (luxating patella). We were going to have the surgery at another facility but someone referred us to Dr. Little at this facility and we are so happy we came here. Dr. Little was able to explain everything to us and really brought our anxiousness down 10 notches. He had a successful surgery for his knee and we will be doing his other knee shortly. The after care is top notch and we were lucky to have her oversee his physical therapy at Paw Rehab (also a first class operation) in Sherman Oaks. We love Dr. Little and we pray never to have to see her again but if we need a skilled surgeon, we are definitely coming back to her.
