When I shop for gifts outside of my neighborhood (East Hollywood), Retreat is my go-to. Diane, the owner, has curated a wonderful collection of jewelry, art prints, cards and fun gifts for virtually any occasion. Despite this shop's relatively small size, it is packed with goodies. My go-to is always the card section, where I invariably find a card for an upcoming birthday or, even better, the perfect card for a friend who could use a pick-me-up or a good laugh. My stationary drawer is packed with Retreat cards that I've got on the ready and I am very grateful. There is a great range of options in terms of price. You can find very fun patches and charms for around ten dollars. If you are looking a bit higher-end, there is a lovely collection of jewelry: but you are definitely paying for quality work that will be appreciated. Diane and the various employees are invariably friendly and eager to help you find something perfect for your friend or family.

I always wind up buying something at Retreat! They have wonderful cards, cool coasters and beautiful jewelry, among other great gifts. I was browsing yesterday and wound up purchasing a bunch of birthday cards that are perfect for certain people. I also enjoyed talking to the woman who was working there. She was pleasant and enthusiastic, and made me smile. A perfect shopping experience at this must-visit South Pas store!

Popped in to peruse their wonderful selection of handmade cards and walked out with several goodies for present and future use!!!! I was cracking up at the cleverness and diversity of these cards. Loved that there was a ton of variety for LGBTQ also. The woman running the shop was equally delightful and enjoyed our conversation. I am happy to have found my new go-to for gifting needs! My daughters and I absolutely love Retreat!! Their jewelry is beautiful and one of a kind. Their greeting cards are so amazing and also unique for any occasion. The items in the store are a great idea for Holiday gifts or just get a little something for yourself.

I have been to this little gem of a shop a couple of times in the past 6 months. Most recently I was looking for unique jewelry to fill the void from having most of mine stolen. Jenny was so helpful and patient with me; allowing me to try on many things and combining strings of semi precious beads to find just the look I wanted. I mentioned that I had lost my engagement ring but was reluctant to buy another one since I didn't wear my stolen one all the time. She showed me some absolutely beautiful gold rings with white sapphires and there was one with a single stone that just went perfectly with my one of a kind wedding band. It's perfect to wear as a set or alone and since the stone is set to be low profile, I think I will wear it much more than my previous diamond band. I ended up buying several of the strands of beads to mix and match as well as a lovely turquoise pendant necklace. It was a wonderful way to begin my jewelry collection again and I just had so much fun! This is a delightful shop with very nice people, like Jenny, working there. If you are looking for unique, hand crafted things for yourself or as gifts, Retreat is the place to go! I imagine I will be back every time I'm in Pasadena!

In a town of awesome shops, Retreat is at the top of the heap! It is my go-to place for gifts! And I'm not embarrassed to admit it is especially my go-to place for gifts for myself! The jewelry is so unique and tasteful, I bought bought cool album cover coasters, divine felted soap... I could go on and on!

I had a chance to visit this shop located on Mission St in South Pasadena! Great shop for local artists and craft folks. They have carefully curated a high quality mix of jewelry, art and gift ideas. I purchased two framed prints as a gift for family in Houston and they loved it !!! I strongly recommend this shop, it supports its local community and you are getting quality gifts!

Sparkle in the sun. I stumbled upon this one-of-a-kind store with my lady friend some time ago and have loved coming back ever since. The jewelry here is stunning made by creative artisans from various parts of the world. I have bought numerous accessories here for myself as well as for friends. There are gift ideas for birthdays, thanksgiving and Christmas. Totally unique store with a fantastic owner who has curated a collection of some of the finest items you can find in LA.
