“If we could rate higher than 5 stars, we would. Daniel is the owner of Mattress Store Pasadena and manned the store over Easter weekend when we wandered in. At first, I thought we'd just get some info, shop around later in more stores and compare prices online, then make a final decision in the summer when we actually need the bed. Instead, we walked out not only having purchased a new bed, but having one of the best retail experiences, feeling confident about our purchase and feeling fully taken care of. I'm normally skeptical of any pushy or shady sales tactics, but Daniel slowly and patiently won over my trust. He is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced with what he's selling, and really took his time explaining each option, giving us tips on how to best shop and feel for mattresses in stores. He wanted us to make the right decision based on needs and price, and never did we feel pressured or sold to. Instead, it felt more like getting a unbiased lesson on how to choose a bed and how to sleep well. When appropriate, he voluntarily left the store and gave us space to discuss privately. The top notch experience did not end once he got the sale. He was incredibly flexible with post-purchase leading up to the delivery. 2 months after our purchase when we called to get the delivery scheduled, he was able to recall exactly what we purchased and action it straight away. He went out of his way to get the bed delivered for us over the 4th of July holiday weekend. All of the above felt so personal and a giant step beyond any uniform push to make a profit. Finally, the purchase itself: I personally hated Tempur-pedic products and they've had a bad rep, but in working with Daniel (instead of being sold to), over the course of this experience, we ended up buying a Tempurpedic ProAdapt. I've waited a month to write the review as it takes time to experience a new bed. Everything Daniel advised was indeed true. This is one the best beds we've ever had and we have had improved sleep and posture thanks to Daniel's help. We really can't recommend this store and Daniel enough, and wholeheartedly advise you go to him if you need a new bed, or want better sleep.”

“Jake, at Mattress Firm, was a god-send for my wife and me. We were looking for the right mattress and adjustable base to improve our sleep, as it has been less than stellar these past few years. Jake was able to listen to our gripes and offer solid feedback and eye opening knowledge and (this was the kicker for me) all without being a pushy salesman. It was clear that Jake wasn’t just trying to make a sell but genuinely wanted to hook us up with the best options for our needs. At no point did we feel pressured or rushed to close. He gave us at least two hours of his time as we bounced back and forth from one bed to the next and then back again. We settled on a Tempurpedic combo and could not be happier or more excited about our purchase. We will ABSOLUTELY be visiting Jake and Mattress Firm again for any and all mattress needs. Scott (owner) took the time to meet with me and carefully explain the work they would be doing on my mission-style furniture. They picked up the furniture, completed the work beautifully and delivered the whole set on time, maybe a day or two early. Left me a loaner too!
There was a minor creaking sound when sitting on one end of the sofa. They followed up and came to the house and fixed that promptly. I couldn't be happier with the service they provided!”

“For whatever reason, this business didn't even show up in the top ten of furnture refinishers that I found in Yelp. Being a good Yelper, I went down this top ten list and what did I find? People evidently living out of their vans; self-entitled, pretentious morons that acted like maybe they'd help me if I was lucky; people with no working phone numbers; people that never returned phone calls (of course getting someone to actually pick up a phone call was a nonstarter), etc. etc. Then I remembered that a neighbor had recommended a nearby refinishing business on York Blvd. and I confirmed with her that the business was the Portico Collection. They run a large and very busy operation there and I'm really surprised they aren't better known on Yelp. We originally went to Portico simply because we were having problems properly supporting our mattress and box spring on an antique wooden bed frame my wife inherited from her Great Aunt. Instead of the ridiculous prattle we got from everyone else, we found people at Portico with whom we could easily communicate, who understood our problem. We were told to bring the frame down in its entirety, which we did. Portico worked out a strong and sturdy solution for this, using a series of perfectly-fitting supporting slats. We also took Portico's suggeston to bag on the "distressed" look for our 70 year old bed frame and let them refinish it, which they did PERFECTLY. It all took a while and it wasn't cheap but we are very, very happy with the outcome. It's obvious to me that they are true professionals and take a great deal of pride in their work.”

“I had a great experience visiting the store. The salesperson Aaron wasn't a sales person at all. In fact, helped me like he was my friend. I loved the no pressure sales approach. He answered all of my questions without trying to push me in a particular direction. He was very knowledgeable and let me try out the various recliners for as long as possible.The store has many recliners from brands like HumanTouch, Cozzia and others. I got to try them all. I prefer the HumanTouch ones. Aaron was able to answer my questions regarding financing options and different warranty packages. My buying experience would not have been the same without him. 100% would recommend visiting this store.”

They did a great job with refurbishing the wood, that was in a really rough shape, and completely redid all the insides.
