Just shopped at Bristol Farms South Pasadena, as we do frequently. While I detest self-checkout, we had a small order today, with no wine or other prohibited items. The regular checkout lines were crowded, so we gave self-checkout a try. An avocado proved to be our downfall. It wouldn't scan, and the screen to enter the product number wouldn't come up. I hit the "request help" button. Waited and waited. Finally an employee more or less shouted from some distance away: "just enter 95550 and then hit 1." Didn't bother to come over to help me. Couldn't hear when I asked how to get to that screen. I hit the help button again and was completely ignored. Finally another employee reset the screen and I took it from there. I got much less help here, with less courtesy, than I can get at Ralph's, Von's, etc. A really unpleasant experience. So why 3 stars? Well, if Bristol doesn't make customer service first, it's no different (except in the wallet) from an average 3-star grocery store. They've definitely lost a step and better get their act together.

I like to thank Adrian Vincent in the Wine Department for being so helpful in helping me find a water in glass bottles that I wasn't familiar with and buying for someone else. I needed as many as were available. He packed them in holders, which made them much easier to carry. I appreciate that he went over and beyond and was so gracious.

This is a quote from , "Crunchy S" a fellow Yelper , which captured my sentiments exactly . I regularly shop at the location in Corona Del Mar & the checkers have a much happier demeanor & attitude.

Very good sushi, great prime beef, and a very nice selection of wine and liquor. I'm also very happy with their Italian sausage. The odors from the hot foods always make me hungry, and the bakery is amazing. I really enjoy shopping here, and as a bonus it is close to my home.

Here for the cookie and hot deli ready prep. The workers here are always a pleasure to encounter, always ready to assist whichever department. This place can be busy and lots of people at certain peek hours but easy to still maneuver around and not too overly cramped. Self checkout is the way to go, and parking lot is also a nice amenity to not worry about metered parking in this city.

I specifically visit the store for their outstanding customer service, fine meats and fresh produce. Gerry, Juan and Benny all displayed great customer service and were very welcoming. Gerry, Juan and Benny were informative, made suggestions and provided service with genuine smiles. They are quite the team and highly trained butchers. The young lady in the produce department was also very professional, informative and assisted me with various types of apples that were displayed. Leo assisted me with checking out, had a great attitude and quickly finalized my purchase. All in all, I had an exceptional shopping experience!

I've recently moved to S Pasadena and since August I had been popping in to buy precooked dinners and groceries. The hot bar is really good. The staff has always been really nice UNTIL Sunday night 1/14/24 at 6:15pm when I was falsely accused of stealing!! I scanned at self-checkout. I was about to swipe my card when I was confronted by the Security Guard accusing me of not scanning all my items. I was very confused because I only had one item, from the hot bar, and I clearly wasn't holding any other items, nor did I have anything other than my small, unzipped purse, as I was taking out my wallet at the time. I would never shop here again after such an unsettling encounter.

I walked in today and such unfriendly, unapproachable staff. Everyone looked miserable. I asked a catering question and the guy had such a bad attitude. The same at the balloon station. No desire to buy anything at this location

While the bakery makes some really good desserts like their chocolate chip cookies, the workers need to be trained better! I get it—it’s Christmas and all. But talking out loud about being displeased about more customers coming in is just NOT okay! Also, the lady in the meat department could show more respect, and not be so curt. The customer service and the whole shopping experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

5 stars for the meat department. I find the quality of meat worth the price. My rib roast already had the ribs removed and were tied back on with butcher twine when I picked up the order. I've had very friendly and helpful customer service here.

Store has quality spirits, produce and meats! Higher prices than your regular market but you pay for what you are getting in the quality. The butchers are the best…. Always willing to help and they go beyond their duties to get you what you need from the back of the meat section if its not available up front!! Staff is awesome!!

What happened to Bristol Farms? It’s a do it yourself place now, like Target. I hadn’t been here in a few months and everything has changed. We now have to check ourselves out, bag our own groceries and even the produce has taken a downgrade. The parking is still miserable and the prices are still high. You know what would be nice in this spot? Trader Joe’s. RIP Bristol Farms.

After checking out at self checkout I had Brad the grocery manager confront me in the parking lot about not paying for my groceries due to the fact I acted suspicious while leaving. I couldn't help but feel like I was being targeted due to my skin complexion or my appearance. I wish Brad and Bristol farms the best and I hope he doesn't take this job too serious Thank you
