Ski and Boot rental experience was top notch! I don’t ski enough to buy equipment so I always rent. I always go for the pro demo ski and boot selection. The rental staff at Powder House was awesome, properly measured and fitted me with a couple of boot options…explaining the fit and how the boot “should feel.” Great experience with the demo skis and boots during three days on the slopes. Thx!!

Said they needed to swipe my card for a deposit. When I rented gear the 1st week of december. I just checked my statement and They charged me $4…….. for what?! I returned everything!!!!!

When I returned the ski, they told me it was all set. But I was charged extra money without any notice afterwards. Sent a few emails but did not get any reply.

Now I know why this place has an average of 3 stars which is probably generous.Rented skis for my adult daughter here at recommendation of hotel.We told the older guy helping her she was a little nervous because she hadn't skied in over 10 years.I already detected signs of impatience with the older guy helping her when I left to get our lift tickets.When I returned, I saw the guy roll his eyes several times and ask my daughter "are you purposely not listening to my instructions?"MY DAUGHTER WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THE SHOP AT THAT TIME.I learned from my daughter that another older guy later purposely ignored her when she asked for help. He finally looked at my daughter when the only other customer in the entire shop tapped him on the shoulder.If you are in the service industry, you probably should know what good service should be which includes patience and compassion.I understand you had an epic season and are probably tired of tourists, but that is no excuse for shameful behavior.The only star is for all the young employees that were nice, friendly and attentive to my daughter when she returned her skis.Was potentially going to buy snowboard equipment from a place in Tahoe. At least I now know where not to go.

They are fraud. Avoid doing business with them at all costs. I rented a ski set for a day and one boots for two days, it was supposed to be $45 and $26 respectively. They charged my credit card $142 and $40 for them.

They confirmed they tested the specific bindings they were holding on a pair of 120 waist skis and confirmed they worked perfect while i was on the phone, and set them aside for me. Awesome right?I went an hour out of my way to the clusterF that is Heavenly village saturday morning early, with 4 feet of fresh POWDER waiting, and on 4 hours sleep after the normally 3 hour turned 10 hour clusterF drive to Tahoe because people dont know how to drive in snow...The guy I talked to was off skiing and the guys working that day found my reserved bindings and go to mount them and told me they could not be put on my skis (115mm brakes)No other shops had the bindings so this outright blatant lie by the POWDER House cost me 2 days of FOUR FEET POWDER on my new POWDER skis plus hours of completely wasted time.Also please note that the POWDER HOUSE doesnt have ANY bindings for POWDER skis.Thanks dude!!!!!!!!!Regards,Yelp SupportSan Francisco, CaliforniaEdited in 2023 to reply to the cheap shot shop owner message that I can't directly reply to: I clearly stated in my review I called ahead and they told me they set the bindings aside for me. I wish I could have give them less than 1 star! they rent a normal boots and charged for the more expensive one after few days! also charged for the poles and the employee mentioned you return one pole however I return pair of poles and the other employee said it is diffrent pole from other store !Edit :they are not only rude but lie just in case! the person who got the poles said I'm not gonna charge you but the one I called said it is beyond her control?! They hung up the phone multiple time and if you check all the responses to bad reviews are just by giving emails. You are the one saving by charging people extra not even knowing why.

They are fraud! Get their pole back and charge for it as it has not returned! Also got normal boots but charges for more expensive boots! They hang up the phone not to answer. Read the reviews answers to all bad review and issues where only the email but they didn't even answer the phone

Very nice staff even though the store was absolutely chaotic with customers. The manager of the store helped me out with flawless customer service! I’m well aware of the 20 million visitors a year to Tahoe, but once I waited and got what I needed and thanked the staff, they reciprocated and wished me a wonderful vacation with my family. I will always recommend Powderhouse to my friends and family from here on out!!!

this place is the worst experience of my life for rental! charded us $180 for 1 day of ski and boots rental and also for the poles that are return! the staff lied that they are not gonna charged us but the did. and when i called in the other employee said you return one pole not the pair which wasnt true! they try to charge you however they can. I alos asked for basic boots but charged for more expensive ones not know why! the staff are very rude

Bought a new ski jacket here and was impressed with what the store had in stock and that the prices weren’t super high even in a very touristy ski town. However, the staff here are not friendly or helpful. Based on my single experience, I’d say look somewhere else if you are looking to rent or buy gear. Go somewhere that you’ll get the attention and care you’re due. These guys won’t earn your high $ purchase/rental fee.
