This was my first year working with Surf City Tax Service and I can say I’m here to stay. Communication is excellent and I was surprised and happy with the outcome, to the point that I intend to have them look at past year’s returns to see if they could have been done better. Cole has a wealth of knowledge and is so easy to work with. I can’t recommend this company enough.

I am a sole proprietor and I've worked with many tax accountants over the years. Peggy is by far my favorite. Not only does she do great work, she is super friendly, kind, and a pleasure to talk to. I just drop my taxes off this morning and left with a huge smile.

After a year of utter chaos, I left my taxes to the last minute and was confused and stressed out about what to do about some unusual income. Surf City fit me in when many other firms I contacted said they were too busy. Peggy gave me sane, patient guidance and resolved all my concerns in terms that were easy to comprehend. Not only that, but the rates were fair and reasonable. I've never had an easier tax season.

Love this tax service. If you have taxes to file, do yourself a favor, and go to Surf City Tax service. They helped me with two years of taxes. They gave me a discount, and even called the IRS for me to check on my stimulus payments. Could not be nicer, full service. I really appreciated their help. Skip the corporate hacks.

I am beyond pleased with Surf City Tax, and with Paul in particular! I had a somewhat complex tax year last year, with income from three different sources including a w-2 and sole proprietorship. I was in over my head, and Paul came to the rescue and gave me a clear, short list of documents and pieces of information he needed to do my taxes. Everything was sent over a secure document transfer service online. It was quick and easy. When documents needed to be signed, I signed them again online and it only took thirty or so seconds. I expected to owe a couple thousand in taxes, but Paul gave me the great news yesterday that I'm actually getting a return instead! He did a great job at a fair price, quick turnaround, and super friendly communication. Thanks Surf City!

This is review is for Marty and Surf City Tax in Santa Cruz, CA. Tax season is (now was) always stressful for us. For the past 3 years we have relied on and appreciated Marty's guidance and assistance with our taxes. She is professional, communicates well, and is open to ideas. We left Santa Cruz after 2018, but still use Marty. We highly recommend her! Thanks.

I contacted Surf City via Yelp on a Saturday. They responded within hours and scheduled an appointment for me the following Tuesday. In a one hour appointment I met Peggy, had some great conversation as she worked, and when I was done I walked out with all of my taxes completed, submitted, and a refund on the way. I can't say enough about how helpful and friendly they are, I'll be going back next year.

Marty Ryhanych is AWESOME!!!! I dread doing taxes every year. I decided to get help preparing taxes and am so happy I found Marty. Marty was so knowledgeable, professional and wonderful to work with. She was able to get deductions for me that I never knew existed. She was able to prepare my taxes in an hour and reviewed everything and explained it to me. She answered all of my questions and did not rush me through the process. I truly had a 5 star experience with Marty and will be using her services from now on. I will never dread doing taxes again. Wow, I've always done my taxes with TurboTax which has been fine in the past, but this year I had a more complex return with the new tax law. Marty got me in and out in an hour and was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was able to offer advice on a new home purchase and everything! Thanks again for your service -- definitely worth the extra $ to talk with a real tax professional this year!
