Charming little shop. The staff warm and welcoming and they seem happy to be there. Lots of quirky items I haven't seen elsewhere. I always stop in when I am in the area.

Judy, the owner, and her lovely shop are always such a joy. We make special trips from another county just to see the beautiful treasures collected from far and wide and chat with Judy and her lovely vendors. It is rare these days to find a charming shop with true, unique and reasonably priced antiques displayed lovingly in a historic building with a wonderful group of kind dealers who care about preservation, community and their customers. We return again and again and feel so welcomed and at home. Thank you all for brightening our days year after year. Such gems and treasures - the people and the antiques at After Effects.

After Effect is a wonderful antique store. It's like walking into my grandmother's house with all the charm and memories! Lots of old books, kitchen ware, children's toys, trains, buttons, jewelry, garden items, frames, old hats, clothing, furniture and so much more. Lots of interesting and quirky fun! Also really reasonable prices and nice people.

The man who works/owns this store is EXTREMELY RUDE. I was driving down Soquel when I saw the store with a sign that said 50% off everything. I went inside on a quest to find detailed frames for art and mirrors and fell in love with two large mirrors that were priced at roughly 40 bucks each (after the 50% discount). My boyfriend brought these up to the front and asked the guy if he would go down a little on the price since we were buying both. He rudely snapped, "NO They are already 50% off!" So we sat them down to reevaluate our purchase and the man continued to say "Look I am already giving you 50% off so if you don't want them, OUT!" Like we were f****** dogs! I said, "Hey you don't have to be RUDE!" And he said "Well I DON'T NEED TO MAKE THIS SALE" I then replied, "Even if you DON'T, you don't have to be RUDE!" Then we left because he didn't want our money even though I would have been happy to pay him full price if he didn't want to haggle. I respect kind people and respect their prices if they can't go lower but I do not respect rude assholes who tell you they don't need my money. If you don't need the money don't f****** have an antique goods business and be rude to your customers. Total jackass! Do not support!
