My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The room was very nice and spacious as was the bathroom. Pool facility was nice - although hot tub jet needs fixing. The complimentary wine tasting is a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for my wedding weekend with my groomsmen. We were treated sooo well (even though we may have been a little noisy when we got back from our after party). 10/10 would recommend.

Staying at The Lodge is among the best places to stay in the Sonoma/Napa area. Excellent staff, great location. We have stayed here 26 times and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Rooms: Very nice but could use a little bit bit of an update.
Nearby activities: Wine tasting galore, great restaurants and beautiful countryside.
Walkability: Short walk into downtown Sonoma.
Food and drinks: Great restaurant here and in the surrounding area.

Very happy with our stay here. Hotel offers lots to do and staff is very helpful. Both restaurants are 5 star.

The rooms in this hotel are horrible. I don’t know how they justify charging $800+ a night. The pictures look so much nicer than what they actually are. It’s like you walked into a motel. We were going to check out and go somewhere else but it was already 6pm so we decided it was only one night and decided to stay. They offered us $60 off breakfast.
We decided to go to dinner. After we got back, we realized there was no hot water. They sent someone up to fix it and he said the water heater blew out and that he turned it back on and should be 5 min. Nope. Still no hot water. They sent maintenance up again. He left to go get some part and finally came back and fixed it.
Then we were fixing up the pull out bed for our daughter and noticed the sheets smelled horrible. They brought sheets right away. They didn't smell very good either but at this point we didn't want to call again.
The bed was very uncomfortable, couldn’t sleep and woke up with our backs killing us.
The next morning we went to breakfast. It is expensive for what you get and the food wasn’t very good. It was cold and tasted like it had been sitting for hours. We didn’t even eat half of it.
The only good thing I can say is the bartender was very friendly and the staff that helped us Friday night were friendly and really tried helping us with everything we encountered. As for a lady at the front desk Saturday morning she was very rude.

Beautiful rooms. Service and food at benicia's kitchen were excellent. Hotel and pool were well maintained and clean. I liked the pool side snack bar, outdoor bar seating.
I asked before my trip for the cost of the advertised wine shipping service and was refused that info. Turned out shipping two bottles cross country was going to be $80 or so, so no.
Front desk staff were very pleasant, but were completely unprepared to provide any sort of concierge service -- not even a simple dinner recommendation.
Ample free parking.
Major complaint: "resort fee" in excess of $50 a night was tacked on. Something that I did not learn about until will after I made my "free" booking using points.
Hotel neighborhood was low-end commercial. While one could walk to the square, it's not a pleasant walk.
Rooms: Our "king premium" was generously sized and very comfortable. However the"private patio' was tiny and screened from the parking lot by a few bushes.

Very underwhelming for the price point! All the pool chairs are ripped and the pool is packed with screaming kids. Very pretty grounds and easy location but could use some TLC or a few 100 off the price point.

We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the pool and service was great. The shuttle to and from the square was useful. A couple minor issues in the room (eg hairdryer only had one prong on the plug) and we were surprised to find the windows in our second floor room did not have screens so not great for kids.
Rooms: All issues were here. Hair dryer broken, coffee machine not working, not enough outlets, very few hooks in the bathroom.
Nearby activities: Very close to Sonoma. Across the street from train town
Walkability: Very flat. Cute neighborhood. Could walk into Sonoma.
Food and drinks: Appreciated the pastries and coffee/tea in the lobby. And the complementary wine tasting in the afternoon.

Wish this could have been a better review. But the rooms are not in great condition and dirty. Be cautious you might get scabies or bed bugs dude to room cleanliness.

We had an amazing experience celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. The staff were wonderful and really made us feel welcome. We had breakfast every morning at Benicia’s and Edwin made us feel like family. He was so friendly and kind going above and beyond to make sure that are meal was top notch. We also enjoyed our time talking with Roscoe, the bartender. Our room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were able to walk and ride bikes into town but when I booked I was under the impression that the square was much closer. Laurie, the concierge was very helpful and emailed me recommendations prior to our arrival. We spent a relaxing day at the spa and Erin made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our day. We would definitely stay here again even with the additional resort fees and hospitality taxes. We felt so welcome and well taken care of.

I’m so beyond disappointed in my stay here that I’m talking with my credit card about a possible refund. First off the dirty bathroom with hairs stuck on the walls and a clogged bath drain that filled the bath with gross water as I was showering was insulting. The ‘terrace’ is literally the size of a coffin and separated from the parking lot by a plant, prepare to have headlights shone directly into your bed throughout the night and slamming car doors/loud voices.
The room itself was underwhelming for the price, it’s pretty worn down and needs some renovation. The bare minimum is included but no extras whatsoever (no slippers no bath robes no qtips etc). I’ve stayed at places with lower star ratings for much lower prices that exceed this hotel in every way, and i can tell it only survives because of its location.
When bringing any of this to the attention of the front desk I was met with such bad attitude I was taken aback. I treat people very well especially when they’re at work but it took everything to bite my lip with the condescending and rude attitude of the front desk girl (I see she’s mentioned in other reviews, no surprise).
If you’re expecting to get what you pay for, look elsewhere. This is a 2-3 star experience at best and the price should reflect that. I travel a lot and I’m well aware of what a 4 star hotel experience should be, you won’t get it here.
