There have been problems with the administrative part of this practice for years, but recently a fellow named Jeffery has joined the team and my most recent experiences have been much improved. Hoping they are on the path to a more functional system.

Sonoma Valley specialty clinic has change such a great deal since Dr. Schafer has left the practice I'd truly wish he never sold that practice and he would've fired half of his medical assistance. Thank goodness I believe in karma and ladies I hope you don't

I would give this office 5 stars if it were not for one person. Positive first though. Dr mishra has been a very helpful dr for the last couple years with the many health problems my parents have had. The office has been most helpful in so many different transactions and paperwork, etc. I like everyone in the office except one person who is consistently rude, and makes me feel like an inconvenience every time I call. Her name is Yesenia. Please, consider this when talking to office staff. I will not be speaking with her any more. I will be asking for another office staff member to talk with.

Don't even bother. If you actually like to see your doctor from time to time, this is not the place for you. Dr. Manuel came highly recommended to me, so I waited the few months to get in. Since then, it has been the most frustrating experience and I have seen many doctors all over the country. Some examples: The office will call you and tell you she is sick. Okay, well, doctors get sick, surely they will get me an appointment soon. No. They have canceled at least two to three appointments on me when she has been sick. When I call to reschedule, sorry, wait at least another month. If they cancel, they should do their best to get you back in, considering you have already waited one month, but no. They don't care. They don't apologize. Nothing. Dr. Manuel is nothing to write home about. She is barely present when you see her, she has no time to chat, she jumps to conclusions, and I never feel seen or listened to when I leave. Emergency? Too bad. They say they have room for emergency appointments, but I have no idea what qualifies as an emergency to them. I had severe stomach pain (which had been going on for months and ultimately led to my getting my appendix removed), but nothing was ever an emergency. I had to go to the ER twice just because she couldn't get me in. I have a prescription that needs to be filled every three weeks, not four. It has been this way for years. Every time I go to the pharmacy, it's not ready. They tell me to contact my doctor. My insurance company tells me to contact my doctor. Every time I go in, I ask about the script again and she NEVER fixes it. Now it's only available on the very day it is released, so no matter what my schedule is, I have to wait for that one day to pick it up. This is a small town. I guess I should lower my expectations, but seriously, they couldn't go any lower. They have no empathy. It really feels like they don't care, like they are running a hair salon and not a doctor's office.

We recently moved to Napa and I'd been wondering if I should just get a doctor here for the convenience. A few days later, I needed to see a doctor. Even though Dr. Manuel was swamped, she took the time to see me and didn't rush. She explained everything in full, was super warm and fully present. I came home and told my better half, "I adore my doctor. She is worth the drive!" The staff are warm and friendly too.

I've been a patient here for over ten years. The quality of care is outstanding. Yes, there is a waiting list to become a patient. However it only reflects the needs of the community and their standard of care. Would it be better to overbook appointments and leave sick patients waiting for extended periods? They rarely ever have me wait more than five minutes when I show up for an appointment. I usually see Dr. Mishra who really takes the time to ask questions and listen. I have never felt rushed through or like he wasn't listening to me. He also thoughtfully explains things and answers my many questions. Outstanding care. I have also seen Dr Schaefer and Dr Manuel who were good. But Dr Mishra is just the best! Their reception staff is also friendly and professional.

At the bottom of Dr. Daisy Manuel's business card it states that the patient will be charged $25 if an appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours notice. Fair enough. I understand why this policy is in place. However, this morning my wife had an appointment which had been scheduled 6 months earlier. Exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes before the scheduled time, my wife received a call from Dr. Manuel's office informing her that the doctor would not be coming into the office and they would need to reschedule. (Keep in mind that we had juggled our entire day to make this appointment.) My wife then pointed out the cancellation fee stated on Dr. Manuel's business card. She asked, "Since you would charge me for a last minute cancellation, should I expect a $25 check from you for your last minute cancellation?" The receptionist nervously replied, "That's not our policy". Really? In 2016 my wife had an exam by Dr. Manuel that left her a little uncomfortable about the level of care and lack of professionalism. This most recent event confirms her apprehension. We will drive the extra distance to Napa or Santa Rosa from now on. Dr. Manuel seems a bit questionable.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mishra's for nearly 7 years. I am pleased with my care. I recently had a challenging upper and lower respiratory infection that took forever to get rid of. Not only was Dr. Mishra attentive and effective, his office staff worked with me to get my appointments in when I needed to be seen. There have been issues in the past with office staff. From time to time the current staff gets overwhelmed, but given they state of our current healthcare system, its all very forgivable.

Last year I had an eye infection and then an infection underneath the nail of my thumb. Dr. Daisy Manuel arguelles treated me both times, including follow ups. Very good experience. And Iam thankful.

I am a huge fan of Dr Manual's. She is very patient and kind. She listens, asks questions, and takes all the time she needs with her patients. I never feel like she is trying to rush me out the door to get to the next patient. She explains everything in detail and recommends alternative medicines as well. She is very easy to talk to and has called after hours to check on my family. My only complaint about Sonoma Family Practice is the office staff/bookkeeping. I will never pay cash here because the office staff always seems to "miss place it" and bills me for it later. My Mom has even gone back with a receipt to show she paid cash and they billed her anyways. So, always pay with your credit, or debt card, so you have a bank statement as back up. If the office staff was better at bookkeeping (or more honest), I would give Sonoma Family Practice 5 stars.

If you want to find a doctor that prescribes your children antidepressant medications and then keep them drugged for year without seeing them - this is your doctor. I find this irresponsible, and would not recommend such service to anyone.

Dr. Mishka is my doctor, and I've visited him a few times. He's great, an interesting open Scottish man who is accessible and informative. However, I've had poor experiences here. Once, the office lost an important paper I needed signed to be able to start a new job. Recently I went in for a shot. I waited 20 minutes to see a nurse. She walked in briskly, sat me down, didn't say a word except: "This is going to sting." There were no words of kindness and she basically stabbed and injected as fast as possible. Then she said, "You'll have a bruise there. Wait here for a few minutes." She stuck a paper on my lap and didn't come back. What was I supposed to do with the paper? When was I supposed to leave? Not the most pleasant experience.

I've been a patient of Dr. Mishra's at Sonoma Family Practice for about five years now and could not be happier. I've also had positive experiences with other physicians in the practice when Dr. M has not been available. Dr. Mishra was recruited to the Sonoma Valley because of his passion for and commitment to primary care medicine. He has excellent interpersonal skills, cares about his patients and takes charge when you need to see a specialist or have tests done. He does not "up sell" you on unnecessary tests/procedures and it's usually pretty easy to schedule an appointment with him. He reserves several "slots" a day for same day/urgent appointments, and if you call first thing in the morning you can usually see him the same day, if need be. I'd certainly recommend Dr. M and Sonoma Family Practice to anyone who wants to have a long term relationship with an excellent team of local health care providers.
