I used to love this store. I usually shopped for Christmas presents and birthday presents here, w occasionally forays into stuff for me. Today, for the first time after using credit cards for over 45 years, I was asked to provide a driver's license to prove my identification. In my observation of three other transactions this afternoon, no one else was asked, including my sister with another sales clerk at another register for $30 more than my $72. I believe I was racially profiled by the clerk. Her explanation of "protecting me" falls flat when I'm the only person I saw being "protected".

I have shopped here many times and always find something I like. They have a great variety of clothing and merchandise brands and sizes. They even have a children store nearby within the same plaza! Both stores are conveniently located which makes shopping a lot easier. I don't need to go out of town to shop for clothing or gifts which is great. They also have great sales and discounts which makes shopping fun. Thank you McCaulou's for making my shopping experiences a pleasant one!

Staff is always rude. I haven’t been in years due to how I was treated, being followed and felt like they thought I was stealing. Went today with my mom and sister. We were the only people in the store and were not greeted. For some reason, none of our cards worked while checking out?? Although they work everywhere else. The cashier was rude about it as well, we left. Wish we could shop local for our babygirl but definitely won’t be giving them our money , ever again.

Went in to get a pair of suspenders. Found them. Sales clerk was very helpful and thoughtful. While McCaulou's is very local, it has a wide selection of items. And, customer service is outstanding. For men's clothing it's basic. Not much in terms of fancy clothes or high end items. Yet for a local, family-owned department store it's pretty nice.

Did a little local Christmas shopping this year and was able to score some absolutely gorgeous Tommy Bahama sweaters for my husband and awesome skater hoodies for our boys! Also grab some gorgeous Pashmina's for the ladies in our family. The store is always clean and the staff is always helpful. Cannot get over how nice it is to have a gift wrap shop with free gift wrapping included with every purchase. Sonoma is so lucky to have a little boutique mini department store with such great fashion buyers.

Sometimes you can find something nice but everything either runs very, very small (anything over size medium is rare) or are styles for people who are quite a bit older.

I used to shop here as little girl and I have a two year old who I would shop for after today there is no way! I bought some shoes on Saturday from there size 8.5 I tried them on at the store they felt fine. I came home put them on that same day walked like 4 steps in them and they felt so uncomfortable so I decided to return them today. I could not find the receipt so I was like maybe store credit ? I walk in ask if I could return them the young lady said no they were dirty and scratched from the bottom! I was in shock ok I walk out infuriated so I calm down and call the manager snd tell her what happened Nancy is her name and she said to hold she would talk to Ashley the one who turned me down. She comes back and says the young lady Ashley said she couldn't receive them because they were really scratched Nancy the manager didn't say come in so I can see for myself she turned me down as well I'm so disappointed never again will I shop here.

I absolutely love this store. They have the cutest clothes ,With a huge variety of styles . Whenever I visit Sonoma for the day I make a point to shop and stop by here . Never disappointed , walk out with a bag full of cute clothes every time .

I like this place because I always find something. I was there Saturday and picked up a few things and went back Sunday to get a few more but not ONE employee can greet me? No one? That's rude and it's bad customer service so I put my stuff back and walked out. Unfortunately it was the same way Saturday too and I just brushed it off but no more. I'm 55 and find their women's clothes a bit frumpy so I shop in the junior department.

We forgot a few things for my son on a recent staycation. I ran in looking for a cute tee and pants. Huge selection of girls but the boys choices were very limited. Not very exciting brands. Lot's of carter's. I found what I needed but wasn't thrilled with the purchase. Next time I would shop somewhere else.

I shopped here a lot when I worked in Sonoma. Yeah, much of the clothing is for an older AARP aged group but there are smaller sections of Levi's, trendy pieces for juniors, nice handbags and jewelry. Guys sports section is good for a Birthday I totally forgot about! I wouldn't mind if Santa Rosa had a store

Wow! Once again disappointing to come here (McCalous kids). I rarely shop here unless i really have to. Well it happens that today was one of those days that i needed to go in and exchanged an item. First of all, the employee here made me feel not welcoming at all. I walk in waited for a few minutes until she acknowledge that i was waiting. I was not in a rushed so i really didn't mind waiting as she was having a conversation with another customer. But, what really bothered me was after she was done and I nicely greeted her and let her know i was there to do a size exchanged. The employee did not bother in greeting me back or say a word to me. customer service was awful . The whole time i was there i felt so awkward. I always say oh i will give them another chance maybe they are having a bad day "I myself work in customer service and i know it can be stressful at times" but come on it was 1030 Am. Is not that hard to greet, and be nice to your customers. I will definitely try to avoid this place, and take my money elsewhere .
