“Right before Safer at Home went into place, Dear Hubby and I had spent the day up in the Santa Ynez Valley. Popping into just a few of the stores, while practicing social distancing, it wasn't very crowded in town, so that was doable. The two salespeople at this store were extremely personable and helpful. One was talking up a special on their bamboo sheet sets, describing all the great qualities of the fabric. I personally prefer printed sheets, so their solids didn't appeal to me for that reason. They are very soft, which is appealing. I understand that they wear very well, wick moisture, and have other features. Their sleepwear felt really dreamy, pardon the pun. I wasn't in the mood to spend that much / full retail. I did go for a cute t-shirt that will be great for the summer. I don't think I own anything else in bamboo fabric, so am looking forward to seeing how it handles normal wear and tear, plus washing. The shop is bright and colorful, with lots of tropical flair. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience shopping there. If you do a lot of Internet shopping, or discount buying (TJ Maxx, Burlington, etc.), it's a nice little touch to have the salesperson place your purchase in a bag, finish it with a flourish of tissue paper, and hand it to you with a big thank you and a smile. You'll find that here. **NOTE, i suspect they may be closed until quarantines are lifted, but please consider patronizing them when we emerge from our home isolation.”

“My girlfriend and I recently stopped in to the clique for the first time, and I highly recommend it! The quality of the pieces she has is top notch, we were both able to find things we liked at great prices, and the owner was welcoming and knowledgeable. I had some questions about my purchase a few days later, and after contacting the owner she was quick to respond and incredibly helpful. This is a great example of a small business that truly cares about their customers.”

“We walked in The Sock Loft as we were doing some window shopping in Solvang. It's all in the name - lots of goofy socks all around! The selection has something for everyone. We ended up buying stickers but next time we're in Solvang I might be adventurous and get some bold socks.”

“The hubby and I were walking around Solvang and checked out this sock store on a Saturday evening. If you're upping your sock game, this store is the spot if you're in Central California. I was just looking at their stuff but, saw their items on clearance. Got these red and black plaid , fleece lined slipped and the reusable Yeti from the Rudolph movie shopping. The gal working that evening was vacuuming and preparing to close up. She was still friendly and courteous while doing so. She forgot to discount the Christmas clearance bag (didn't notice til later) but, that's okay as the regular price was still inexpensive. When in Solvang, I would stop by again to see what cool socks and other items they have.”

“A very nice souvenir shop. A wide range of variety of gifts and souvenirs can be found in here. You most likely will find something that’s worth to keep or gift someone. The store is quite packed with stuff, so the isles is a bit narrow. Must be careful to walk around. But, the price is reasonable and they have some combos when you buy multiple merchandises.”

“Stumbled upon this boutique after lunch on Sunday not intending to clothing shop at all! They carry beautiful high end clothing I went a little crazy in there, I wanted everything! The assistant manager helped us she was extremely friendly and helpful and is very knowledgeable about the merchandise. I bought 2 leather jackets, a dress, and a kimono!”

“This is such a cute little store. I bought necklaces here where you have to crack open an actual mussel shell. Super unique gift for sure. They show you the design of the necklace outside the box and you kind of pop in the pearl in its designated space. The store also carries a bunch of Christmas items. I love that. They have everything from shirts, socks, memorabilia, etc. Stop by and find all the goodies for yourself. The prices are moderate.”

“This place doesn't get a lot of love from tourists sometimes, mainly because of the out of towners or tourists complaining about candy prices here. Service is ok, but don't expect much if you aren't being proactive all the time. On the other hand, it's really about your personal relationship and experiences with candy. They definitely have all the candies you want and wide selections of flavors and sizes. Yes, they have candies found in various parts of the world too. Not just taffy, caramels, sweet tarts, lollipops, chocolates, hard candies, gummies, etc. Some of the selections aren't easily found anywhere else in America. Variety is key here. Take time to look around. It took me 20-25 minutes to decide what goes inside my basket to take home. I find that the elder lady was easy to talk to and have casual conversations with. She's been here for a very long time. Cannot compete with bigger competitions in other touristy California spots. Shop was traditionally an old dress shop, but feels more like a laundromat or sewing & alterations service retail spot. Surprisingly, a candy shop is not bad at all. You won't find many candy stores like this one. Main thing is that this is located in Solvang and it's unlikely that people come here more than 1-2 times every year or so. Farmers Market operates on street just outside on specific day(s). Not cheap, so grab a few by the weight into your basket if you are a giving and sharing person. $10-$15 for smaller purchases, but most people end up spending $30-$45 when they come here. Depends on your tourism expenses and how you enjoy memorable candies in your lifetime. I actually do like this candy shop because it's a very old and colorful business here for candy lovers. Think about colorful candies from beyond your decade and times.”
