They are not a regular restaurant, so check the day you are going to see what's on the menu and if they are hosting a private event. I totally recommend Fridays for the Viking Sandwich and a honey ale. They have awesome wines as well. One of the best local spots for my wife and I. Be sure to stop by when in Solvang.

1603 Copenhagen Dr #2, SolvangWe came to Solvang about 5 years ago and I was recommended to come here for the Truffle salt. Quaint store with high end spices. This place has THE BEST TRUFFLE SALT. I always buy it before we run out. Great sprinkles on avocados, popcorn, potatoes, ect. Just got my shipment in and this time I ordered lavender sugar.. I’m planning on making lavender sugar cookies. Highly recommend this Jewel of a store!

409 1st St, SolvangWe had the five course menu and the first three were outstanding, oysters with tomatillo sauce, sourdough, hamachi crudo, cauliflower(so good!), scallop and ricotta pasta (my favorite). We waited about 40 minutes between the third and fourth courses, so likely something went wrong in the kitchen. The mains were very poorly seasoned, steak had no salt and the sauce and potatoes it was served with had so much salt that they were almost inedible. The pan fried catch of the day was a bland dish with the main flavor being salt- some herbs, wine and lemon/acid would be most welcome there. The desserts were a mixed bag, the chocolate was good but the passion fruit tart was excessively sweet. I suppose the first courses set a high standard and the later ones were disappointing. The meal took over 2.5 hours and by the end we just wanted to leave. Four stars because the restaurant is very cute and the first three courses were so good, but very close to going down to three stars.

The staff on site that day did not really explain the tastings. There was a sale going on and it was not offered nor explained to us. As a group of 6, we probably would have taken advantage of the offer.

1539C Mission Dr, SolvangOne of the highlights of our trip! It was crazy busy in Solvang over this weekend (December), people were lined up outside of other places, and we managed to get in here! The two workers (a young man and an older woman (sorry, I can't remember their names) were awesome. It has an old fashioned/European/romantic feel. There was also live music. Vast selection of wine and beer. I had a delicious dry champagne, and my husband loved the German beer on tap. We had a cheese plate that was incredible value. We will be back next time we are in Solvang!
