“Walking into Planter Sam’s shop almost took my breath away. It’s packed with plants whose healthy leaves glisten in many shades of green and yellow. Such a variety of plants and sizes. I was given lots of helpful information on sun, potting and temperature from Sam, her husband and other clerks on my two visits this month. There were lots of pot colors and sizes. I am so glad I had one of the plants repotted for me by staff. The other two smaller ones I did at home but the convenience is well worth the minimal charge. I really like the small macrame hanging I bought to fill in a bare corner. And I picked up a unique birthday card with a garden theme. I’m so glad this lovely small-business is in my San Marcos neighborhood — but it’s easy to get to from anywhere in north county. Value - selection - customer service - easy parking — ALL 5-star.”
“Kate at Feather Acres is the most kind and genuine person - she is such a pleasure to work with.I first went to Feather Acres when I moved to San Diego to get an orchid for our new home and she was so helpful in making it look beautiful. When I got engaged, I knew I had to work with Kate. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, she was so incredibly helpful - from brainstorming sessions, to countless emails, to coordination, ideation, and mock-ups, Kate was poised, professional, and unendingly helpful. She made the wedding planning process such a joy for florals. The wedding day was a breeze, thanks to her coordination and gorgeous floral designs. I owe a lot to Kate for making it such an incredible day!Kate and Feather Acres is fantastic and I highly recommend working with her or sourcing beautiful florals from her.”
“Had visted Andy's Orchids a few days ago was not expecting to see Andy but I was so excited when I was told he was going to give us a walk about on his Beautiful Orchid farm, he is such a a kind soul and took the time to answer any questions I had. I truly enjoyed every minute so much beauty every where so many Orchids my hubby bought me several for Mother's day.
Thank you Andy for the great tour around your Paradise. See you back in June.☺️”

695 Normandy Rd, Encinitas“Lot was smaller than I thought, but still a nice visit browsing and wandering. Like other reviewers said, prices for soil, pots, and plants were surprisingly priced competitively -- might as well support an independent nursery! Came for Mia Carville's blueberry class February 17, 2024 and it was very helpful to me. Simple and clear instructions. I heard someone else say this was the third time they've attended this class. I was looking for a product that was sold out and staff were really helpful in trying to help me locate it and then letting me know I could come back in a week when they would be restocked.”
“I love my ginger lily that I got there yesterday, it's very very healthy. The owners are very nice and explained to us in details on how to take care of the plant. Will def go back again. They also have many nice looking orchids, succulents and ferns.”
“They call me Crazy Plant Guy because everywhere I go, I will visit local nurseries and grab some local varieties. This place has a lot of them and I'm happy that those guys are around. Super helpful service too.”
“Joe has a great selection of kings. Landed on a series of Kings in 20gal pots that will serve as a screen. Delivered to my door. Has many other terrific palms that will require another visit.”

“I am so impressed with the customer service at this business! I have always had good experiences here, but Paige provided my husband and I with outstanding care! I can't express how helpful and kind she was to not only us but other customers, too. She was quite informative about the products, and she really went the extra mile with an extra big smile!”
“Gorgeous selection of bromeliads and Tillandsia. Picked up several specimens which we love. Look forward to attending their twice yearly special events. Note, be sure to call ahead as they are by appointment only.”

450 Ocean View Ave, Encinitas“These guys are amazing! I’ve ordered multiple plants and everything has been top notch quality. The pricing is very fair considering they have plants that you simply can’t find anywhere else. Communication has also been fantastic. Highly recommended, although I kind of want to keep this secret to myself.”

13650 Carmel Valley Rd, San Diego“Very satisfied with our experience at Moon Valley. We were looking for potted bamboo to add a barrier on our patio between our neighbor’s house and our fence line. Adam helped us select the bamboo plants and select our pots - they had a lot of options at reasonable prices. On the day of planting, George and his crew came as scheduled and took such immaculate care in planting all 5 pots, lining them up evenly along our fence line and cleaning the area once complete. George also thoroughly explained how to care for our plants. We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Moon Valley.”
“It is a well-designed, well-maintained place with adequate free parking, a variety of potted fruit, flower and vegetable plants with live roots, as well as garden supplies and clothing items for sale in the sales store. I went just to observe and it was a good experience for me.”

902 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas“Decent sized plant nursery with a variety of indoor and outdoor plants. I've stopped here a few times to expand my succulent collection. If you like string succulents there is a large selection. I've been searching for a string of turtles and workers found me a nice one. Prices are better than large brand stores. Be sure to check out the large friendly dog near the cashier and cozy parrot nearby.”
“This place has a really impressive selection, especially considering it’s in the city. Mark was incredibly helpful with all of our questions. I will definitely be back for more.”

9229 Harris Plant Rd, San Diego“Best prices in town for DG, road 2 base,And many other soils. The rules are you have to wear a hard hat and a bright vest. The soils yard is in the back of the complex and the pay trailer is on your way to the back half way through the grounds. The speed bumps are kinda high so drive slow. Lunch time is usually the best time to go to beat traffic.”
“This guy is at the Thursday Oceanside Farmer's Market now! If you're wondering why his brick-and mortar store has poor hours, this is probably one of the reasons why. This business breathed new life into my opinion of farmers markets- in a world where buying local is now typically more expensive than going to chain grocery stores, the prices here are very modest. I am super happy! He had mini succulent gardens for 3$, hanging plants at 10$ each or 2 for 15. I found a bird nest fern for 15$, including taxes. There is a 50-cent credit card usage fee, and that's certainly reasonable. While I do look forward to shopping at his actual nurseries, I will happily make weekly pilgrimages to the Oceanside Farmer's Market to see what he has to sell.”

5400 Governor Dr, San Diego“EVerde is a versatile nursery with everything you need for the garden. Friendly and welcoming staff throughout the site. I really like their shade plants area. Come visit and see their inventory. One of my favorite plants is the Echium jewel tower and Gold Duranta. Try them in your garden!!”

“Kellen was super friendly while I was checking out. The guy in the paint section was also really helpful about picking out the type of spray paint I needed. Sometimes I get weird looks because I’m alternative but when I told them I needed paint for graffiti they were still really cool about it. Love this Home Depot”
“This place is succulent heaven!! So many amazing succulents jam packed in a gorgeous little shop. We spent over $500 on some unique finds including a beautiful massive elephant's foot and a unique wish list pachypodium!! Loads of smaller, rare but super affordable plants. I could have easily left with twice as many plants but my dogs and child need space for the road trip home.”
