The location is king. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, the pool was nice. But the best thing - it’s 5 min walk from the beach. It was also nice to be able to charge our car in the parking. The only thing I didn’t like is the guys who started blowing the parking lot in front of our windows at 7am on Saturday. But probably it doesn’t even belong to the hotel.
Walkability: The beach is 5 min walk. Also the Design District is 10-15 minutes.

Best hotel experience ever. Close to beach and delicious food. Great pool and fitness center. Arielle at the front desk made my week amazing. Thanks Courtyard Marriott! I'll be back soon.

A tad dated and loud around the pool/courtyard (hotel actually provided earplugs)
But it was an overall good place, good location with acceptable quality in all aspects

Great location. Blocks from the beach. Very helpful staff. Just wish their little market had some of the great local craft beers instead of the generic mass market

Visited early this month for Business and stayed for three nights. Rooms were cleaned; however, the walls are super thin and I got very little to no sleep. The first day I got there the room above sounded like someone was fighting. I complained and they said they would look into it. I asked them to call and give me an update and they never did. But I did not make a fuss as I needed to go meet my team for dinner. As I was leaving, they told me it was housekeeping moving furniture because no one was booked in the room above. I accepted the answer politely but did not believe that for one minute because it sounded more like work was being done in the room. The next morning I went to grab breakfast, no tea, no oatmeal, nothing really. The next morning the same. The next night the room next to me decided to have a full conversation at 3 am. Not that they were really loud, that's just how paper thin the walls are. The next morning the guys working in the courtyard sounded like they were in my room. And so it went on and on. The hotel is very very basic and I would not recommend it if your rest is essential to you.

Spacious rooms, close to restaurants, need updating though.

Disappointed stay. Unfortunately our special weekend was not what we planned. Should of known when we checked in Friday night and hotel grounds smelled like sewage. Fortunately, the room did not smell like it.Woke up the next morning to jackhammers and construction in the hotel on a Saturday. When I asked at the front desk, why I was not told of the construction, they had no answer. Nor would management talk with me. This went on until 4 PM today. Also the breakfast restaurant was understaffed and ran out of most items on the menu, even though the one staff person tried her hardest to accommodate everyone.Tried to contact management again and two weeks later I have not heard anything. I would never stay there again.Rooms: Rooms were ok

Nice room. got upsold on parking and then ended up parking on the street anyway cause it was actually closer to the room. Smelled ok in the room but the whole grounds and building smelled like sewage.

Great location but hotel itself is in serious need of updates. The room was clean and the bed was fine. The air-conditioning unit rattled every time it came on. Hard to sleep through. Some cracks in bathroom tiles. Construction going on and could hear people moving ladders around 6am.

Spent one night during a recent business trip. Very convenient location, close to many of the local offerings. The team was super helpful. Hotel has a parking deck below the building, for $22/night (as of 02/2024). I was able to park easily on the street at no cost — which worked for my schedule; do watch the parking signs.Rooms: Rooms were quite standard for a courtyard property.Nearby activities: The hotel is conveniently located near the Del Mar beaches, design districts, and other local businesses.Safety: Hotel felt safe — front desk was staffed and very attentive.Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located near the Del Mar beaches, design districts, and other local businesses.Food & drinks: There is a restaurant / grill on property. I did not try it, as there is plenty of food and drink option within walking distance of the hotel.Noteworthy details: February 2024 — hotel’s courtyard is under construction, including the pool. There is a lot of noise during the day — definitely count not have worked from the hotel during the day.

My boyfriend (Mike Bryne) has stayed here countless times (over 100 nights last year alone) on business trips. We’ve appreciated the staff’s professionalism in dealing with some uninvited guests. The last year has seen the cafe reopen for evening meal/beverage service, and the outdoor fire pit lounge area is a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine or mixed drink. The rooms are spacious despite being an older hotel, but the location is amazing with the proximity to the beach and a nice Italian family owned restaurant next door (Parioli’s). In particular we wanted to give a special thanks to the amazing and attentive staff, including Rochelle, Maria, Adriana, Carlos, Donna, Mateo, and Rhonda. Last but not least, Hailey and Justin! A special thanks to Storm for keeping the room cold.

Stayed here for my sons birthday weekend as we went to lego land. Only about 15 mins away there. Everything was great. Rooms were spacious and very clean which I’m pretty picky about because I tend to be a germaphobe. This will be my go to if I ever go again!!

Excellent location. The property is older but it is clean and quiet. Parking is available for a charge under the hotel. The bed was comfortable and clean. The elevator has two doors which is kind of cool and different.

This appears to be an older hotel that Marriott acquired and re-branded. Rooms are definitely older and in need of renovation. King size mattresses were very creaky and barely comfortable. However, the hotel lobby and grounds were modern and nicely maintained. There is a cafe/wine bar in the courtyard, but it is minimally staffed (only one person working the counter on a sunday morning). All said, the location is excellent and easy to find. The cost is reflective of the location, not the quality of board.Rooms: Rooms are definitely older and in need of renovation.
