I had an appointment at 11:00am. Stayed in my car for 2 1/2 hours just so they can check my dogs ears. Service, communication is horrible. They gave my some meds. The fig felt worst. Called the next day to complain. They gave me another appointment stating that they won't charge me for office visit. They took the dog for a check up and exactly 5 minutes later they brought him back. Just to say the doctor will call you stay in your car but you need to bring him back next week. Well, that doctor did not call or come out. Save your money and go somewhere else. You don't believe me try calling.

Office Receptionist, Dawn, was extremely rude and unhelpful. I had urgently made an appointment at our veterinary clinic "Valley Vet Clinic" in Simi Valley, because our dog had redness due to pain with an ear, nose & mouth infection. As we arrived we called Dawn at front desk while parked there. She did not take us in right away, so I called office again 20 min. later, after watching other customers being helped, and Dawn answered phone & said that it was too late to take us in without an explanation. I was very upset and left, but I called back to let her know that I'd give this clinic bad reviews. She sarcastically said, "ok," & didn't offer an apology. Obviously she doesn't care enough to keep her job, nor care enough for their customer's well being. We will be going to a qualified veterinary clinic for better care for our dog and professional customer service.

let me start this review by saying that dr. novy is a wonderful vet. kind, gentle and extremely knowledgeable. i have recommended him and his practice FOR OVER 30 YEARS!! thats how long i have been going there. this is my 3rd german shepherd and he is the BEST. and i understand the new protocals and safety measures we all must take to protect everyone in this time of covid. HOWEVER.... my dog is sick... and i dont know why. i took him to the practice a month and a half ago... dr novy wasnt available so another vet saw him. my dog is terrified of the vet so i gave them a list. with new protocols i understood i couldn't go in with my dog. when they were done they told me they really couldn't get a good exam because he was so scared. i knew that would happen but i tried what they suggested - cost close to $300. he's no better and im worried about something i had listed the first time i took him in. called today to just PLEASE speak with dr. novy since he has seen my dog MANY MANY times in the past to maybe give me some advice going forward since i cant bring him there again. i need to be able to be with him during exam. girls at front desk would not even give me the curtesy - a 30 year patient - to leave dr. novy a quick note to decide for himself whether or not to call me since he didnt see my dog at last visit. im sad, angry, disgusted... i normally never write reviews. i get that this pandemic is effecting everyone and every business in a different challenging way. but is it also effecting your clients and a little compassion and caring goes a LONG LONG way in these times, so so so disappointed in my fellow human beings today.

Honestly, I don't understand some of the negative reviews here. It's interesting that the people who claim to have been treated "rudely" in this clinic sound not only coarse, bad-mannered, but they write with more contempt than most reviews I've read anywhere. It must be ignorance. The ignorant few who have no idea how hard veterinarians and their assistants work - especially in this clinic.

Dr. Gonzalez is so very sweet. She really cares about your pet, she even took care of our turtles when not a lot of vets take reptiles! Love the whole office no matter what vet you see they are extremely friendly and take the time to explain everything to you. We have a zoo here at home three dogs, two turtles, and a cat. So we are at the office quite often.

We've been Valley Vet clients for over 20 years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. The doctors AND staff have never been anything but friendly, caring and great to us and our pets. I saw a review on here about the wait time on hold - um, this office is busy! There's a reason for that, they're terrific. They get lots of calls. And they've handled Covid beautifully - we got a new puppy in the midst of all this and have had several appointments for puppy shots and rescue-pup conditions to treat - everyone has been efficient and safe and as always, I'm completely happy with their care.

Can I just say that I am in awe of Dr. Gonzales and her care of my veiled chameleons. We have one that is special needs and another on the mend. She has taken such good care of them. Answers all questions and has even researched some things for our special needs and gotten back to us quickly. Wish I'd found her sooner for these little greenies. And Dr. Lucas was great with treating my fur baby. Definitely recommend as the staff is always friendly as well

The vets all there are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, however the front staff can be pretty rude. It's a give and take situation.

RUDE RUDE RUDE staff! Dr. Laura Gonzales is THE only reason I come here. And if you need to call the office be prepared to be on hold for at least 12 minutes. I own 6 pets and am searching for a new vet to take my business to.

We wanted a second opinion for our Havanese with chronic bloody stools and vomiting . We were told by his previous vet he has colitis. The little guy has struggled with this on and off for over three years but just recently, it was getting more frequent and extremely scary!! After forking our almost $900.00 for an office visit, medications, and being told it could be Colitis and IBS - pancreatitis was ruled out by a blood test - the bloody stools still continued. I found recommendations for Dr. Novy on the Nextdoor App. As with any change, we were skeptical!! However, we found Dr. Novy to be caring, empathetic and knowledgeable! We stopped all the previous medications, Sucralfate, Pepcid and metronidazole to following Dr. Novy's prescriptions and suggestions. Our little guy is doing so much better!! It's been almost a month without any bloody stools! We went from losing hope to enjoying our little guy's bouncing back to his old self each day. Most importantly, Dr. Novy kept tabs on our little guy's progress everyday!! Yes, everyday he wanted us to call in to check in and didn't hesitate at all to answer all of my d*** questions without judgment!! One evening, about 7 PM, I received a call which showed Valley Vet. I just assumed an employee was calling to check up on our little guy. I was shocked it was Dr. Novy himself!!! Thank you Dr. Novy!! Additionally, a quick shout out to the staff!! Thanks for always handling my panicked calls - yes calls - several a day - with so much professionalism and patience!! To top it off, we received a - Thank you - Card for having selected them to be our Vet!! Very classy!

I don't write many reviews, but I am still in disbelief about how I was treated. Valley vet cane highly recommended. I'm newer to the area and have been wanting to find a "home" for my dog. He had a mass on his front paw and Dr Lucas looked at it and took images saying it should be removed sooner rather than later. This was during the holidays, so more chaotic than usual. I thought highly of Dr Lucas and I thought she showed great care and gentleness with Jasper. When she showed me the image of the mass, she said removal should be sooner rather than later. I was relieved to have hopefully found a permanent vet home for Jasper. I called them a week later as I wanted my dog's bandage removed and possibly rebandaged, but was told I should be able to do it myself. I wasn't confident about that, but did it anyway. I then called a couple of days later when I called to request his foot be wrapped again (as I unsuccessfully wrapped it and it came off)and hopefully book surgery, I was placed on hold for a long time and spoke to Robin (I think). She was very nice and only the messenger, but I was in complete shock when she told me Dr Lucas felt I wasn't a good fit and mentioned something about lines of communication. As well as having previous vet records (I have moved a few times in the past 7 years). I was fired as a client after one visit. Maybe Dr Lucas wasn't confident about doing the surgery, as she had mentioned it would be tricky. They offered for the other vet to see my dog, but I have no desire to go back after being shamed this way. I wrote an email to them 12/26/19 expressing my disbelief and foolishly thought I might receive a reply. A week or so ago, I got a letter from them in the mail thanking me for coming in and looking forward to caring for my dog. Oh well.

This is the only Vet office I will take my dog to. Not only is the staff super friendly and accommodating, but they have this way of making you feel like family. I have always been taken care of at Valley Vet and I've been going there for the last 10 years. Originally we saw Dr. Prater, but she moved and now we see Dr. Spitzer. The office girls are absolutely amazing, too. The service and support they provide is outstanding and really hard to find at other Vet offices as busy as this one. With that said, even though they are busy, they have always been able to squeeze me in and make appointments work with my hectic schedule. I have also never felt like I was upsold on anything or taken advantage of, they only charge me for what is required and that really goes a long way and helps to build trust between the office and their patients/clients. Thank you Valley Vet for always taking care of Daisey and me! We love you.

Looking for a new vet and a family member recommended Valley Vet Clinic. They have been in Simi for a long time. Small clinic. My other clinic sold to a large corporation and their vets and staff have changed a number of times and always put me on hold for 10 mins or longer. Valley Vet had me on hold but only a couple of mins. They was able to get me in on a Monday. The doctor was nice and thorough with the exam. I have 3 dogs so will update this review as I get more familiar with this clinic.
