Be careful on vape batteries here, they sell trash that doesn't hold charge and then don't want to exchange them. Get what you pay for. Go down the street to smoke and vape and get quality batteries. Same owners as tobacco and more next to it.

This will likely be my one and only liquor store review. The owner Mike is a great guy that offers great prices on high quality products, so I feel compelled to share. I have been here a few times and bought brands that I never heard of based on the owner's suggestion. They turned out to be really good and the prices were surprisingly significantly less than the big two chain stores. This place is not fancy, but if you know what you like and are open to try different brands, Mike can help you find something that meets your budget. Be sure to check out his special buy area for some good deals!

I live a bit further down Cochran past Tapo so I had never even noticed that there was anything past that Mexican Restaurant up Tapo St other than tons of Residential. But I’m sooo glad just by chance that I happened to stumble into Mike’s shop there in DIRE need of a HUGE favor to ask of a total stranger.
It was late in the afternoon the day before Christmas Eve, which was a Sunday anyways, and I my paycheck had FINALLY came in the mail, almost a week late. So if I didn’t deposit or cash my check ASAP, it would be another 3+ days before I’d be able to. I rushed down to the nearby bank, but it had already closed over 2 hours early than they said. I quickly ran to the check cashing store across the street just to find it empty & locked shut too!!! Anyways, I ran around this 1 mile radius for over an hour trying everywhere but nobody would take this late because all the bank online systems were closed so they couldn’t verify checks.
Desperately searching thru Google Maps for another option, I came across Tapo Liquor and got over there fast as I could. Mike was the nicest person id talked to all day and was sooo cool about it, without even being able to verify a single piece of Information about me, my employer, my address or even my name he cashed my check right there on the spot and literally SAVED my Christmas, no Joke!!
Now I go there once a week to cash each paycheck and actually feel good about paying the fees for the first time in my life to someone who works so hard and really deserves it.
You tha man Mike!! You’ve got a customer and friend for life!!

Great selection of liquor. Moderate prices. Compares to bevmo prices. Friendly customer service. Not bad of a location. Just wish it was more stocked.

Best Liquor Store in town since new owner Mike took over. Customer service and knowledge about the liquor is amazing and whenever i can't find what i want, whoevers working helps me out no problem. Don't go anywhere except here! Best prices in town, anywhere else your wasting your time.

The new ownership has definitely made this store 10x better. New floors, new counters, nothing is dusty, best prices for my vino and my Jameson. Mike is also very welcoming, nice and makes sure you leave with a smile

Wow, this place has really changed since the new owner took over....and for the better! It evolved from that little hole in the wall to a full blown, premier liquor store. The layout has been mostly redone and it is clean, pleasing to the eye, and well organized. They've totally improved their signage, storage, shelving and refrigerated space. They now have tons of craft beer, liquor, snacks and all sorts of good stuff. A whole chip isle even! I hear they are getting a coffee machine soon :) Beer. They have an awesome selection of craft beer. There's a long refrigerated section filled with your staple beers, Bear Republic, Stone, Lagunitas, and I'm just blanking on a lot of others they had but overall, I was pretty impressed. I haven't seen many other local liquor stores that had as solid of a selection of refrigerated craft beer as this place. Some of the more specialty beers were out on the shelf, All their beer was pretty much in line with the pricing you'd find anywhere else. Wine- has my fav Woodbridge so i cant complain there Hard Liquor- a whole wall dedicated to it, they have it ALL! They cash checks there as well.
