I want to counteract the one star review left in the Fall of 2023. Dr. Spitzer was just at my house this afternoon to put down our senior dog via Lap of Love. She was wonderful. I met her outside at her car, and we talked a little bit about the decision before she came in and I was able to tell her some details about Rocket. We talked more with her as a family when she came inside. At no point did we feel rushed or that she wasn’t completely gentle with him. She explained everything she was going to do before doing it and then again before she did each step. She was talking to him throughout and she also paid attention to our other dog who was curious/stressed and growling at her. (He stopped growling the minute Rocket passed). I felt the service was excellent and exactly what I had envisioned. At no point did Rocket appear stressed or worried about what was happening.

Dr Jessica spitzer is a phycopath with absolutely no compassion in her heart at all ! Dr Jessica spitzer and “LACK OF LOVE’” ruined our little baby onyx’s passing and left me and my husband horrified and tramatized! Dr jessica spitzer is the most unprofessional vet I’ve ever met ! Dr spitzer was in our home less than five minutes without warning she ambushed our 16yr old 5 lb very frail, toothless, blind, deaf afraid of everything and in the last stages of kidney failure but not yet in pain and absolutely non threatening to anyone and Dr Jessica spitzer ambushed our tiny baby threw a blanket over her with such force pinning our baby against the arm of our couch then jammed a huge needle in the side of our babies tiny belly leaving her limp body under the blanket!!! We never got to say good bye to our baby and didn’t even get a chance to hold her and comfort her during her passing !!our babies last minutes on this earth was shock, held under a damn blanket alone in fear screaming in pain !!! It was cruel, inhumane and horrific to say the least!!!! Left me and my husband in complete shock and tramatized!!!I wouldn’t even give 1 star !! They both need their licenses removed and never allowed near animals again !!!’

Just moved to the area and needed to find a new vet. Called around to a few places who were unable to accommodate an appointment for over 3 weeks. Called here and was able to get a same day appt. The clinic was clean, the people were kind and professional.

It's taken me 2 weeks to stop crying long enough to write a review. On one of the worst days of my life, I could not have hoped for a more compassionate, person to assist with saying goodbye to my dog. Dr. Jessica's knowledge, experience, compassion, and respect for both myself and my dog were apparent. I will be forever grateful for her partnership on this emotional day. Her heartfelt handwritten note with the enclosed poem was so much appreciated. Thank you, Dr. Jessica and Lap of Love for what you do.

I feel blessed to have had Dr. Spitzer come to the house, in our hour of need. She was so kind and gentle and our dog went over the bridge w/o being scared. It was truly a wonderful experience. Strange to hear the word "wonderful" to describe losing a pet, but knowing that she went comfortably and painlessly, when her time came, made all the difference. Thank you sooo much.

Dr. Spitzer is professional who has genuine empathy for families who have to make tough decisions about their elderly, ill pet (in our case, our dog). She thoughtfully and thoroughly explained to us, each step of the euthanasia process and patiently helped our dog (and our family) through each step of the entire, heartbreaking process. It was worth every penny, to have this done at home (no stress on our sweet dog with an in-veterinarian office appointment) and we will call on her again, when the time comes for our other pets. Thank you Dr. Spitzer!

Dr. Spitzer is a terrific Vet but more importantly, she is one of the kindest most compassionate people you will ever meet. She has provided exceptional care for our dogs for almost two decades and I highly recommend her.

We love Dr. Spitzer. When the time came to say goodbye to our 14 year-old Chihuahua mix (Delilah), she guided us through the difficult decision, came to our home, and walked us through her euthanasia process. Our teen and 21-year old grew up with this dog and had tied many childhood memories to her. Dr. Spitzer helped comfort our family and followed through with a beautiful, personal letter, offering encouragement, warmth and help if we needed it. She truly understands the importance of our furry family members and is extremely compassionate. We highly recommend her.

We wanted a second opinion for our Havanese with chronic bloody stools and vomiting . We were told by his previous vet he has colitis. The little guy has struggled with this on and off for over three years but just recently, it was getting more frequent and extremely scary!! After forking our almost $900.00 for an office visit, medications, and being told it could be Colitis and IBS - pancreatitis was ruled out by a blood test - the bloody stools still continued. I found recommendations for Dr. Novy on the Nextdoor App. As with any change, we were skeptical!! However, we found Dr. Novy to be caring, empathetic and knowledgeable! We stopped all the previous medications, Sucralfate, Pepcid and metronidazole to following Dr. Novy's prescriptions and suggestions. Our little guy is doing so much better!! It's been almost a month without any bloody stools! We went from losing hope to enjoying our little guy's bouncing back to his old self each day. Most importantly, Dr. Novy kept tabs on our little guy's progress everyday!! Yes, everyday he wanted us to call in to check in and didn't hesitate at all to answer all of my d*** questions without judgment!! One evening, about 7 PM, I received a call which showed Valley Vet. I just assumed an employee was calling to check up on our little guy. I was shocked it was Dr. Novy himself!!! Thank you Dr. Novy!! Additionally, a quick shout out to the staff!! Thanks for always handling my panicked calls - yes calls - several a day - with so much professionalism and patience!! To top it off, we received a - Thank you - Card for having selected them to be our Vet!! Very classy!

Dr. Spitzer is a very professional, warm, thoughtful, considerate person and vet that comes to your house at a emotional, difficult time when we need to choose euthanasia for our beloved cat. She makes sure that we are comfortable and so is our fur baby before she proceeds. Dr. Spitzer also provided us a 'paw print" which was both unexpected and a welcome memory.

I don't write many reviews, but I am still in disbelief about how I was treated. Valley vet cane highly recommended. I'm newer to the area and have been wanting to find a "home" for my dog. He had a mass on his front paw and Dr Lucas looked at it and took images saying it should be removed sooner rather than later. This was during the holidays, so more chaotic than usual. I thought highly of Dr Lucas and I thought she showed great care and gentleness with Jasper. When she showed me the image of the mass, she said removal should be sooner rather than later. I was relieved to have hopefully found a permanent vet home for Jasper. I called them a week later as I wanted my dog's bandage removed and possibly rebandaged, but was told I should be able to do it myself. I wasn't confident about that, but did it anyway. I then called a couple of days later when I called to request his foot be wrapped again (as I unsuccessfully wrapped it and it came off)and hopefully book surgery, I was placed on hold for a long time and spoke to Robin (I think). She was very nice and only the messenger, but I was in complete shock when she told me Dr Lucas felt I wasn't a good fit and mentioned something about lines of communication. As well as having previous vet records (I have moved a few times in the past 7 years). I was fired as a client after one visit. Maybe Dr Lucas wasn't confident about doing the surgery, as she had mentioned it would be tricky. They offered for the other vet to see my dog, but I have no desire to go back after being shamed this way. I wrote an email to them 12/26/19 expressing my disbelief and foolishly thought I might receive a reply. A week or so ago, I got a letter from them in the mail thanking me for coming in and looking forward to caring for my dog. Oh well.

This is the only Vet office I will take my dog to. Not only is the staff super friendly and accommodating, but they have this way of making you feel like family. I have always been taken care of at Valley Vet and I've been going there for the last 10 years. Originally we saw Dr. Prater, but she moved and now we see Dr. Spitzer. The office girls are absolutely amazing, too. The service and support they provide is outstanding and really hard to find at other Vet offices as busy as this one. With that said, even though they are busy, they have always been able to squeeze me in and make appointments work with my hectic schedule. I have also never felt like I was upsold on anything or taken advantage of, they only charge me for what is required and that really goes a long way and helps to build trust between the office and their patients/clients. Thank you Valley Vet for always taking care of Daisey and me! We love you.

Dr Jessica Spitzer and Lap of Love were recommended to my wife and I through a neighbor. It is a difficult decision to put a pet to sleep but she made the experience peaceful and humane by doing the procedure in comfort of our home. A trip to the vet would have been a horrific end to live full of love. We had our dog for 13 yrs and his body was failing him. She made sure he was comfortable and helped him pass without pain. She also was very empathetic to our loss and had such a professional yet warm bedside manner for us and our remaining dog.

Looking for a new vet and a family member recommended Valley Vet Clinic. They have been in Simi for a long time. Small clinic. My other clinic sold to a large corporation and their vets and staff have changed a number of times and always put me on hold for 10 mins or longer. Valley Vet had me on hold but only a couple of mins. They was able to get me in on a Monday. The doctor was nice and thorough with the exam. I have 3 dogs so will update this review as I get more familiar with this clinic.
