Mike ruined the case on my hand made clock. He glued a crap piece of wood to the back and used epoxy glue to install a battery movement. Take your clock there at your own risk.

I took my 35+ cuckoo clock to Mike for repair three weeks ago and picked it up today. It has been a family treasure since purchased new and it has always been treated like a family heirloom. When I picked it up, I noticed a large wooden roof shingle missing and replaced with a small piece of wood glued in its place. I said what happened and that it was in perfect condition when I brought it in. He simply responded that it was broken when I brought it. I 100% know when I brought it in that it was in perfect condition. How he could say that (and think I would except that) with a straight face is beyond me. Bottom line - what could I do. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS.

I was referred to this guy through a cuckoo shop in the black forest. I sent him an older clock of mine for replacement hands and a cleaning for $100 and he told me that the entire mechanism had to be replaced for $250. I said fine, he made the repairs and then sent it back completely unprotected. It was a really subpar packing job and the clock was rattling around inside the box when I received it. The clock of course was broken from the from going through the mail without enough protective packaging. I sent it back saying that the clock was broken upon arrival and needed additional repairs. I was then berated by accusations that I had "thrown the clock against a wall" or that "someone must have knocked it off the wall, a kid or a teenager or something". I don't have a kid or a teenager in my house and I never got so far as hanging it on the wall. I tried to explain that the damage had happened before I even got the clock back but he continued to accuse me of breaking it. He fixed the clock again and told me that my year warranty was rescinded and if the clock were to break again he wouldn't be fixing it. Along with the clock he printed out photos of the broken clock and circled where all the 'clock abuse' had happened. Mike is extremely rude, unwilling to listen, or admit his own mistakes. I've had bad customer service before but I've never had someone who I'm paying to help me with something so aggressively gaslight me into thinking the problem was my fault. The clock still doesn't run properly but my warranty was taken away. Thanks for the awesome service Mike!

While I was in Germany in December 2019, my wife and I visited a cuckoo clock shop and we got a recommendation for a list of U.S. shops that do maintenance/repairing the cuckoo clock. I contacted Mr. Brindley in Oct. 2020 concerning my cuckoo clock and was told I would need to ship the clock to his address and to do the maintenance it would cost about $200.00. After receiving the clock by Mr. Brindley in November, I got a call suggesting I should upgrade my clock and the cost would be $325.00. I agreed and had the bank mail him a check for $325.00. In March of 2021, I got the clock back but notice the new weights was very heavy compare with the old ones. It took awhile for me to figure out how to hang the clock because of the weight. I placed a brace on the bottom of the clock but the clock would not run. I was advised to remove the brace. Finally, I was able to place a metal strip on the wall to support the weight but the clock ran fast. I was told to ship it back to Mr. Brindley. On May 31, I got an email indicating he needs for me to mail him a check for $150.00 "for all this fixing i had to do here, repair both bellow tops, repair music box chain , fix and align music box so it will play correctley, adjust cukoo clock pendlmn with marks on the pendlmn stick so you will know where it goes". I dd not open the clock and the only thing I did was to hang the clock therefore I have no idea how the internal needs repair again. Do not use him!!!!

He is an amazing man with clocks. An encyclopedic knowledge of all types. Took my 55 year old clock I got for my college graduation, that had given up the ghost. He knew the exact problem and fixed it in a couple of hours. Truly, a magician with clocks!!

Took clock in for repair. Told it needed new movement. Okay. Picked up clock and all wrapped up. Get home, open it up and different chains added along with wire pull where there used to be wood pull. Oiled so heavily couldn't see the formerly white Roman numbers. Dropped clock off again. Called after not hearing anything for weeks. Told to come get it. Again all wrapped up. I opened up in shop and wire not fixed. Ask about it and he finally tells me it broke. Roman numerals look worse. So $600 later and clock never fixed right and returned with other items broken. Do not recommend at all.
