I used LA Story for the first time to alter a bridesmaid dress and it came out amazing! Such care and detailed went into tailoring the dress. This shop is such a gem with a great vibe. Will be returning for all my future alterations or tailoring needs. Thank you for the amazing service and quick turnaround time!

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent alteration services I received at LA Story. While I initially appreciated the convenience of a walk-in appointment, I am deeply upset about the quality of the work performed.
I brought a dress to be altered to a more fitted size. Despite my initial satisfaction with the fitting, I discovered a significant issue upon closer inspection at home. The white elastic bands, which were previously concealed, are now visible and detract from the overall appearance of the dress.
I understand that alterations can be challenging, but I believe it is the responsibility of the tailor to identify and address potential issues before completing the work. In this case, it seems that the tightening process may have caused the elastic bands to become exposed.
When I returned to Suzie for a permanent fix, she unexpectedly placed blame on my fiancé who accompanied me to pick up the dress for not noticing the issues and offered to only safety pin the elastic as a fix "free of charge" which was extremely unprofessional and really? a safety pin? I plan on resuing this dress in the next couple of months the "additional alterations" she offered at no cost was was to safety pin the dress, and that was insulting, she never offered to properly and permanently fix the problem. The issue I had was not the fitting, I know she did a good job with the fit and making the dress tighter caused the elastics to show, no big deal but if Suzy had correctly done the fitting, she would know and acknowledge that it could've been seen at the time we were testing the fit the day i came in. It became a bigger issue when she also claimed the elastics were already showing "prior," and this shows her lack of accountability and how unprofessional she is. When I first got the dress, the only issue I had with it was that it was a little big on me around the waist and top no elastics were showing. I unfortunately didn't take photos since I didn't think I would ever run into a problem like this one but I confirmed with others i worn the dress in front of that the elastics didn't show before I took it in, if elastics were ever showing I definitely would've been brought to Suzies attention. I truly was hoping to have been happy with this place if 1) Suzy had correctly checked the dress when she was tightening it during the first fitting, 2) if she had been professional in resolving the matter.
Suzie lacks the understanding I'm paying HER for her services and having payed $85 for this fitting it should've been done correctly and if there were any issues that arose SHE should've been the one to have caught them and brought to my attention. She should've known right from the beginning what tightening the dress would do and what additional fixings were needed if necessary, I would've happily understood and deeply appreciated, especially because this dress was for a very important event.
I have attached photos of the dress before the alteration was made. This was done just as Suzy had temporarily tightened the dress to demonstrate where the dress would be tightened, and when she did that, the elastics showed. She claimed that photo does show the elastic, but that it proves it was already there. ?♀️Umm, of course it's there. You just tightened the dress and just proved my point!
Suzie also blamed the sleeves and that they might be "pulling" on the dress, which shocked me since she claims to know so much about clothes. The sleeves rest, they didn't pull.
I trusted her expertise, and unfortunately, not only did she create a new problem for me but lacked professionalism. This store needs to do better. Their high prices did not reflect the quality of their work. Thankfully, I found someone else to fix this issue, and they confirmed that this work was done incorrectly, both issues of the fitting and the elastics should've been addressed before alterations

My experience at LA Story was amazing! My dress needed some major alterations and was handled quickly, creatively, and with so much attention to detail! I recommended to my friends and family for their alterations and will be back!

Suzy is a patient and kind tailor and it's no wonder this place is busy. By the way she knows all about mens clothes so guys feel free to bring your jackets and pants! Don't let the name put you off, this is a great Simi resource for attentive and caring alterations at a fair price.

I wish I could give Suzy 10 stars. They have altered two of my dresses for my wedding. She made them look like they were made just for me. She is incredibly talented and has a huge heart. I will never go to another tailor!!! There is truly no one like Suzy!!!

Suzy is so, so kind. She listened to how I pictured my wedding dress alterations and gave her professional option. She is quick, efficient and very reasonably priced. I'm so happy with the final results of my dress and would HIGHLY recommend Suzy and the LA Story team.

Because of all the great reviews I read about LA story alterations, I went there, and had Susie alter a dress I was planning to wear for my granddaughter’s wedding. She did a beautiful job, and because of that great experience, I had her alter The dress I was planning to wear for my daughters wedding four months later. Both dresses turned out absolutely beautiful. Also, she did a marvelous job altering my younger daughter’s dress, who was the maid of honor at her older sister’s wedding. I highly recommend LA story alterations.

Suzy is awesome! I came in to have a dress altered and she delivered exactly as we discussed. I was very careful in choosing the seamstress who will work on my dress as it has a very delicate lace material. I asked Suzy to remove the puffy shoulders and tighten the sleeves but enough for it to be still comfortable. She finished my dress much sooner, without sacrificing quality. Also, I found her service fee to be very reasonable. I highly recommend LA Story!
