John is the real deal. I brought my 2010 Honda CRV in and he gave me a detailed diagnostic and price breakdown on what was needed. Showed me where the work was needed and was up front about costs and labor. He truly understands Honda engines and is trust-worthy to give it to you straight. I will be bringing my Honda back to him exclusively for all oil changes and services. Highly recommend his shop!Service: General repairs & maintenance

A friend recommended J & L Automotive to me after I complained about my Honda Dealership issues... and when I called and spoke to John about my problem, he was very accommodating. He told me to come by around 3pm that same day, and he'd take a look. I showed up on time and since it was an easy fix,- was on my way about 30 minutes later! But the best part? ...NO CHARGE.! :) I will definitely be back to give him my business, and will refer him to others also. Thanks John!

This place is highly recommended! John is knowledgeable, honest and reliable. My Acura started making a noise. I thought I need to get new brakes but John explained that it’s still okay and the noise was coming from pebbles stuck between the rotor. Phew! Thank goodness I didn’t have to pay for new brakes. Will definitely be coming back here…Services: Brakes

John is my forever Honda mechanic now!!! 3 different mechanics could not find the source of this " noise", they all told me it was road noise. I dealt with it for years!!!!. Then the " road noise" got louder!!! I took my car to JnL for an oil change and he found " the noise". His estimate was very very reasonable ( I checked) He explained things very well. He did those little extras too. All of us need an experienced mechanic - so we don't keep putting money into a problem that doesn't get fixed. John will not disappoint you!!!!!!! ........One stop - one bill- problem fixed !!!!!! .........Take it to him for an oil change = those are cheaper than everyone else too.

Exceptionally rude when calling about a pre-purchase inspection. After being chastised for calling "the wrong business" and a lengthy explanation of why they acquired Peterson... I explained I had a toyota 4 runner and he cut me off -"is it an acura or honda?". I had just explained it was a 4runner. I just hung up. It was clear that they had bad vibes. They act like im wasting their time when really they were wasting mine.

We have brought all of our Hondas (and one Acura) to John for over twenty years, first at Peterson Automotive and now at J &L Automotive. Our cars last around 300,000 miles before we sell them, thanks in large part to John's skill. John is friendly, knowledgeable, and straightforward. He won't try to upsell you when it's not necessary. Comfortable waiting room, too. I highly recommend J&L.

I had an ABS failure on my Accord, and every warning light on my dash lit up. John accurately diagnosed the problem and quickly repaired the defective modulator. After that was done, I asked him to replace the timing belt, as it was due and making noise. Again, he replaced the belt in record time. A few days after he had repaired my car, he messaged me to see how the car was running. Nobody else does this. John is a gentleman, an excellent mechanic and one of the most honest people I know. He's got my business for as long as I own Honda's. Highly recommended.Services: Brakes

John is great. He takes the time to explain everything to you and is so friendly. I found him through a previous place I went to and I would definitely come back. I explained my situation to him and he knew exactly what the problem was. He even accommodated to my schedule for me to come in on the weekend as I live far. Thank you again John!
